Sorry Gaston, They are MUCH More Interesting Than You!*6/8* NEW Trip Report Link p154

Sending positive energy to Nick as he makes his decision about which college to attend. It sounds like he has some excellent choices! Also sending good vibes to you and Denny as you all go through this exciting, but stressful decision period!

You women are always setting those unreasonably high and unattainable standards.......... :faint: :rolleyes2

So I've been trying the wrong pattern all along...........be more like Bo and I can have my own harem!!! :scratchin

Unattainable standards??? ...... :sad2:

Not sure that being like Bo will get you that harem..... You sure you can stand that still and hold that Coke??? :rotfl2:

I think that Luna Park view is so much better than the Boardwalk view. Why? Not because the Boardwalk view wouldn't be lovely, but I would be afraid everyone would be looking back at me. I like that this has a more secluded feel.

As far as the clown - here's something interesting - and Cynthia and I both felt this way - the Clown is definitely not a creepy when you are seated on the pool deck. Weird - Yes! But true!

haha I didn't even realize I said that. :rotfl: OMG - wait until Captain Oblivious reads this. I better go back and edit that out. Thanks for the warning. :rotfl:

Isn't it wonderful? I wish I could have that room every single time I stayed at Disney. I am a resort hopper, but I wouldn't be for a view like that. ;)

In one simple word - NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was truly better than I expected it could be. Loved it!

Probiotics work well for that, too! I'm serious. They are wonderful!

Stupid GI tracts love to get all weirded out on vacation. So annoying.

Ladies, if you add pre-biotics too, it helps to calm down the cilia before you eat, and then the pro-biotics help with digestion. I was selling a supplement that had sa combo of both to take once a day. Not selling it anymore, but still order. PM me if you want info.

I am bummed that we couldn't go to Beaches n Cream? I really want to eat there one of these trips!
Me too. I just haven't worked out the logistics to make it a convenient detour yet.

We could have stormed luggage services, but that wouldn't have been right. :rotfl:
Well, you could have always offered the CM's a drink while you were pouring them... :rolleyes1

There was a lot of happy going on that night. The only thing that concerns me is how many of those people get in a car and drive home?
Good point. That is about the only time that I like to rely on Disney Transportation. I would hope that they were putting Disney Transportation to good use, but I'm sure that especially during F&W there are a lot of locals who would be driving.

You women are always setting those unreasonably high and unattainable standards.......... :faint: :rolleyes2

:lmao:

That's what we women do! But, I guess it can go both ways. :rotfl2:

You gotta have priorities!!! ::yes::

So you're saying those adult beverages are why you can't remember what you actually did........... :confused3 ;)

It's quite possible that any adult beverages involved led to my complete state of confusion. I know that Cynthia's trip around the world showcase certainly looks more interesting than whatever I did. ;)

So I've been trying the wrong pattern all along...........be more like Bo and I can have my own harem!!! :scratchin

By the comments on the TR I think you have made a reasonable assumption. Of course, standing in the hot sun while holding a beverage and never drinking it might prove to be just a tad difficult.......just a tad!

I fell behind but am all caught up again. Problem is, I forgot just about everything that I wanted to comment on. How 'bout...neat pictures of all the t-shirts from around the world. I had to laugh at the "brought back the high school years" memories because that's exactly what I was thinking.

Yeah for getting caught up again. I feel like I am always behind on my subbed TR's unless I devote a certain portion of each day to the DIS boards. It's like a job. :rotfl2:

For me I think it brought back the post college years. :rotfl:

Awesome updates, ladies.

Thanks!

Your view is absolutely spectacular and I certainly wouldn't mind that view in December (as long as I can't see the clown I'd be okay!).

We definitely could NOT see the clown. That made it all the more perfect!

MEK, I love that you posted all three pictures of yourself getting ready for dinner. We don't see you often enough in the pictures.

Thanks. You're right - I don't like to post that many pictures of myself because I dislike about 3/4's of them. Oh well. Obviously I was bored if I took that many pictures. :rotfl:

A great selection of t-shirts Cynthia and I still can't wait to see which one(s) was/were the winner.

I can't wait either because I have no idea!

Great view from your BW balcony! Hate to hear about the tummy troubles later that evening. Hope that was the end of that.

I absolutely loved our view and, thankfully, that was the end of the tummy troubles for the evening - and the entire trip! :cool1:

LOVE the nation World Showcase shirts.

I have to hand it to Cynthia - she really got some great shots!!!!!!

so I know ure at home noe but can I just protest the end of this vacation ,because i don't really want this tr to end i like having both points of view

No worries - we still have an incredibly full day ahead and then Cynthia didn't leave until late Monday. I stayed until Tuesday and I took A LOT of pictures on my solo evening, so there's plenty of TR left!

Yup! That view will work!

It certainly did work extremely well! :thumbsup2

So much to look at. :goodvibes But I can't help notice that the pool looks pretty empty for 4-ish. The slide looks fun- I especially like that it is not an enclosed slide.

It did look pretty empty. That pool never looks really full to me. Not exactly sure why. In fact, in my 6 nights that I have stayed at the Boardwalk (total) none of the pools ever seem real crowded and that certainly works by me.

Nice shopping expedition Cynthia! Great shirts. I'm drawn to the retro ones. My DH had an EPCOT shirt from our first visit in 1983 (when we were high school seniors and sweethearts)

I like the retro shirts, too! They are pretty nostalgic and fun.

Dinner looked fantastic! I haven't been to FF (or any signatures for that matter) but all I hear is raves about this place.

If you ever get a chance to try it, I would highly recommend it. It's my second meal there and both meals were consistently good with great customer service. A very enjoyable evening both times!

I was going to write "Bummer" about your after dinner issues, but then I thought that might not be the best phrase to use, so I am sorry to hear about your discomfort!

:rotfl2: Bummer - haha - I get it! :rotfl2: Actually, my discomfort was short-lived so that definitely worked in my favor. Could have been a lot worse.

I liked both of your cell phone pictures from Illuminations. Mary Ellen- that 3rd one is really interesting. And at least there isn't a witch in a hat ruining all of your photos!

:rotfl2: It was hard trying to take pics because we really didn't have a great viewing spot thanks to the crowds. But it was still fun to be around all that drunken energy and know we only had to walk home.

The International Gateway Rocks! If they had a t-shirt that said that, I would totally buy it!

I would too, because the IG does ROCK! :cool1:

Sending positive energy to Nick as he makes his decision about which college to attend. It sounds like he has some excellent choices! Also sending good vibes to you and Denny as you all go through this exciting, but stressful decision period!

Thanks Dee. I really appreciate it. I occasionally get this sick feeling in my stomach because I just want this decision over with and I want to move forward.

Unattainable standards??? ...... :sad2:

Not sure that being like Bo will get you that harem..... You sure you can stand that still and hold that Coke??? :rotfl2:

Yeah - what SHE said! :lmao:

Ladies, if you add pre-biotics too, it helps to calm down the cilia before you eat, and then the pro-biotics help with digestion. I was selling a supplement that had sa combo of both to take once a day. Not selling it anymore, but still order. PM me if you want info.

I started taking Align about 3 years ago. I actually got CDiff at the time. It totally changed my life. I recently switched to a brand that BJ's sells and I have been pretty happy with it. However, I will definitely ask you more questions if I feel like its not working. Align was pretty expensive and the BJ's price is do-able. Bottom line - I definitely think a lot of GI issues are due to imbalances of the colonic flora and everyone should be on probiotics. That and Vitamin D - two best things ever!!!!!!!

Me too. I just haven't worked out the logistics to make it a convenient detour yet.

I hear ya - It never works out for me either. I'm either in the vicinity when I've already eaten or its just too darn crowded to go in there. It obviously needs to be a planned visit - like right when they open up.

Well, you could have always offered the CM's a drink while you were pouring them... :rolleyes1

No THERE's an idea! :lmao:

Good point. That is about the only time that I like to rely on Disney Transportation. I would hope that they were putting Disney Transportation to good use, but I'm sure that especially during F&W there are a lot of locals who would be driving.

I feel like almost everyone we were walking out with was a local and I just thought of all those people driving. It just is a scary thought, for sure.

Love your view at Boardwalk Villas! Marlene has announced that that's where she wants to stay when we go on her graduation WDW visit (like Lauren's), which suits me just fine.

I'll be getting to my Flying Fish chapter soon, but <spoiler alert> we loved it!

Survivor at Eat to the Beat. A while back James was hooked on "Eye of the Tiger" for some reason. I had to tell him that it just plain isn't a very good song. So now, he's switched to humming "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley. I had to explain that they use it on Youtube vidoes because it's so lame. Does this kid have no taste? Is all of my time playing the Beatles for him in vain?? :faint:

Rick Astley is lame? OMG, I've lost respect for you Glennbo. ;) I loved that song!

I was at Epcot a few years ago and just happened to be walking as Survivor came from backstage to the theater to start their show. My, those gentleman have not aged well. ;)

Cynthia - I am dying to know what t-shirts you ended up getting after seeing all these pictures!
Your room was awesome! What a view! Glad you said it was not standard, lest someone think that was typical! We definitely want to try staying at BW next trip. Maybe if we don't go during F&W we can actually get a room at 7 months!

We waitlisted for it, during F&W but decided our chances were better a s shorter/split stay and WL for BWV in 2 view categories I think. It came through maybe 3-4 months out?

I will let everyone know on the shirts at the end but...I am thinking maybe we should have a contest and people can guess?

So did the bubbly work okay for you? Sure looked yummy! I LOVE Illuminations! I listen to that music so often when I need to relax! It's very moving and inspiring to me.

The bubbly was fine :thumbsup2 No issues

I love the Illuminaitons music as well.

eandesmom - I love those WS shirts! I've never even stopped at that place before, but perhaps I will next time for my DH. He's not really into 'Disney' apparel, but I think he'd wear this and that's good enough for me :rotfl:

I think Epcot has some great adult T options that are not "too" Disney that could satisfy a lot of people. I'd read about the new WS shirts on a blog and the boys were very anxious to see them. On a side note, they are all SUPER soft too.

I absolutely LOVE FF! One of the best Signature restaurants. I also love the ambiance and decor of the place.

Definitely a new favorite for me!

Great job on the T-shirts. Awesome use of time between room being ready and dinner.

I had a great afternoon

Flying Fish will hopefully be done soon. ::yes:: Looks great.

SO yummy, Jeff and I definitely going there next Dec, by hook or by crook!

Great updates ladies! Love the room pics and all of the shots of your view! Can't wait to have an opportunity to stay at BW and try Flying Fish sometime!

Can't say enough great things about both

Cynthia, love the WS T-shirt pics and you have some great shots of Illuminations! :thumbsup2 And :woohoo: on the "Survivor" concert.

it was a really fun afternoon!

Thank you Cynthia for the view information. We won't be spending our countdown dreaming of the view, you might have saved us from some disappointment;)

Aw, so sorry about that. It will still be wonderful I am sure!

Nope Bo is not better than ALL the guys I know... just some.. ;)

I would love a man that cooks, cleans and loads and UNLOADS the dishwasher, doesn't mind short shopping jaunts, and long walks through Disney.
I know BO can't do all that. He is rather "stuck" with what he CAN do and that is greet everyone with a smile and be that strong silent type, even if he is a little shallow.

:rotfl2: Poor Bo, he does make the best with what he has to work with.

What excellent room views! :worship:

I love the looks of your meals at Flying Fish. I really need to give that place a try sometime.

Seriously the Boardwalk jackpot, it was amazing and being steps away from FF, nirvana. It is so wonderful.

Cynthia, hooray for more t-shirt photos! I never take enough time to look through the shops (I blame the attractions!) and it's so much fun to see all they have to offer! Feel free to post more!

I seem to blitz through them too, it was fun to actually focus on it a bit even if it was kind of a narrow focus. I will say though that Disney does a MUCH better job on mens T's than I think they do for women. I don't find nearly as many things that I'd like for myself, as I do for my kids or even Jeff.

Now, that's what I call a "nice" update! ;)

Again, I love the room location and the view is just awesome!
All the T-shirts look really cool, so I can't wait to find out which ones you really bought.

Shirts were purchased and will be revealed, at some point. I am thinking a contest might be fun though, guess which ones I bought.

Dinner looks good, guess we need to get ourselves back to FF any day soon.
Great pics of Illuminations too. :thumbsup2

Not too horrible for cell phones!

wow, what a room and what a view! Amazing! The kitchen is so cute! Also, how awesome is the proximity of your dinner? And Epcot? Again I say, amazing! Your meals look really awesome. I've never been to the FF, looks really cool inside!
Mary Ellen, so sorry to hear about your tummy troubles acting up. Not much worse than feeling below par in wdw. :sad2:

It's a very cute little kitchenette. I can't say enough great things about the Boardwalk, the entire area, resort and dining.

Cynthia - I just love all your t-shirt pics! I feel like I'm window shopping! Hehehe. Also love your pp pic!

Thanks! More t shirts to come...shocker I know. :rotfl2:

:lmao::rotfl2:

Well, you might have made it a little bit earlier if you'd hadn't taken the time for coffee. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Pretty sure no one wants to see either of us before or without coffee

:rotfl2:

::yes::

Hadn't thought about that part of it. That would really be frustrating to have all that rum and not be able to put it to use. :lmao:

Exactly, neither of us really wanted to spend $10 on a beverage when we could make one for free. Clearly we caved.

Thtat really would be nice. Maybe one of these days, I'll get a chance to stay at one of the Boardwalk/Epcot area resorts.

It is indeed. And at least your view is from an angle that the creepy clown can't ruin your verandah experience! :rotfl:

He's really not creepy at all once you are at the pool. I actually absolutely loved the whole pool area and vibe, both from the verandah and from the deck.

Loving all the t-shirt pics. I'm going to have to keep an eye out now for the retro one with the monorail.

Also, great pics of the resort and view. I'm really looking forward to my boardwalk stay and seeing pictures of the resort help to build the excitement.

Epcot had a great selection overall I though, better than most other spots. I can't wait to stay at the Boardwalk again in Dec!

When will you be going to F&W?! I see your cruise ticker..is that a combo trip? I'm PRAYING that we'll be able to go the week of October 7th. I'm booked at BLT just in case :cool1:

October is such a great time, I hope it works out for you!

Fantastic view! You guys hit the jackpot.

We did!

Hey, as long as you don't have to look at his face, I agree!:thumbsup2

He's surprisingly non creepy once you are at the pool.

Impressive dexterity, especially if he's already had a few.

The holding them didn't faze me as much (I waited tables for way too many years) but given the crowds in the WS that night I just kept envisioning someone running into him

NO!! Already?

I know. Watch, we will finish this one (Mary Ellen is on a timeframe lol!) before I finish my August TR!

Although in fairness, that trip WAS twice as long

I fell behind but am all caught up again. Problem is, I forgot just about everything that I wanted to comment on. How 'bout...neat pictures of all the t-shirts from around the world. I had to laugh at the "brought back the high school years" memories because that's exactly what I was thinking.

I know that feeling well!

I had the biggest dopiest grin on while listening to Surrivor, as did MANY people around me. Fun memories and they sounded pretty good.

I was really happy there was one place that has ALL the WS t's in one place, versus visiting each pavillion.

You women are always setting those unreasonably high and unattainable standards.......... :faint: :rolleyes2

Yep, pretty much.

Awesome updates, ladies.

Your view is absolutely spectacular and I certainly wouldn't mind that view in December (as long as I can't see the clown I'd be okay!).

He is really not creepy at all once you are there. But there are also 2 lovely non clown pools and other views that can be requested

A great selection of t-shirts Cynthia and I still can't wait to see which one(s) was/were the winner.

I am thinking a contest may be in order

Great view from your BW balcony! Hate to hear about the tummy troubles later that evening.

LOVE the nation World Showcase shirts.

And they are super soft! Really nice T's. I loved our view.

Unattainable standards??? ...... :sad2:

Not sure that being like Bo will get you that harem..... You sure you can stand that still and hold that Coke??? :rotfl2:
That's what we women do! But, I guess it can go both ways. :rotfl2:
Yeah - what SHE said! :lmao:
Yep, pretty much.
 Just no winning sometimes, it seems............. :sad1:

It's quite possible that any adult beverages involved led to my complete state of confusion. I know that Cynthia's trip around the world showcase certainly looks more interesting than whatever I did. ;)
You'll have to clue me in on what you had (if that tidbit of info isn't already gone too.......). Or maybe Cynthia might remember!
Sounds like I may need to try it next time I'm there!!!

By the comments on the TR I think you have made a reasonable assumption. Of course, standing in the hot sun while holding a beverage and never drinking it might prove to be just a tad difficult.......just a tad!
Well at least you didn't crush ALL my hope......... :rolleyes1

so I know ure at home noe but can I just protest the end of this vacation ,because i don't really want this tr to end i like having both points of view

I wanted to protest the end of the vacation too! Lots still to come actually, Mary Ellen had 2 fulls days still and I had a day and a half, actually a little more than that.

See, and folks were worried our updates would be identical...

Yup! That view will work!

So much to look at. :goodvibes But I can't help notice that the pool looks pretty empty for 4-ish. The slide looks fun- I especially like that it is not an enclosed slide.

I like that aspect of the slide a lot, the boys are DYING for next Dec to go on it. Hopefully some of our 6 nights there will have warm enough days for it.

It's quite a large pool area and yes, pretty quiet every time we looked or were there. Not deserted but a very calm lovely level of kids and adults. Just perfect. Another reason to give it a thumbs up if you ask me. I will be curious to see what it is is like during other seasons.

Nice shopping expedition Cynthia! Great shirts. I'm drawn to the retro ones. My DH had an EPCOT shirt from our first visit in 1983 (when we were high school seniors and sweethearts)

Aww....I think you both need a new one! I really liked the retro ones a lot. There were more, I only took snaps of ones I thought they would like. Which really means I only took shots of ones that were mostly blue.

Eric LOVES blue. And I didn't see them appealing in general to Evan so much.

Dinner looked fantastic! I haven't been to FF (or any signatures for that matter) but all I hear is raves about this place.

I liked both of your cell phone pictures from Illuminations. Mary Ellen- that 3rd one is really interesting. And at least there isn't a witch in a hat ruining all of your photos!

FF was F! As in Fabulous and fantastic!

Not too horrible for cell phones

The International Gateway Rocks! If they had a t-shirt that said that, I would totally buy it!

They should!

Ladies, if you add pre-biotics too, it helps to calm down the cilia before you eat, and then the pro-biotics help with digestion. I was selling a supplement that had sa combo of both to take once a day. Not selling it anymore, but still order. PM me if you want info.

Thanks Tammie, (and sorry to everyone elee as I'm sure this is way too much TMI) I've been on and off probiotics over the last few years. It helps some but honestly the best thing for me regardless is just avoiding certain things that I know are triggers. It has been interesting to see those foods/beverages change a bit as I've gotten older but if I simply focus on soluble fibers it makes a huge difference, far far more than anything else. Giving up carbonation wasn't a huge loss and though I miss the taste of beer, I don't miss how it made me feel, at all which makes it a pretty easy thing to give up. I can do anything occasionally, just have to be careful not to overdo it with stuff I know I'll be sorry for later (food and wine and cruises can be easy to blow it lol).

Love your view at Boardwalk Villas! Marlene has announced that that's where she wants to stay when we go on her graduation WDW visit (like Lauren's), which suits me just fine.

Smart girl!

I'll be getting to my Flying Fish chapter soon, but <spoiler alert> we loved it!

Survivor at Eat to the Beat. A while back James was hooked on "Eye of the Tiger" for some reason. I had to tell him that it just plain isn't a very good song. Is all of my time playing the Beatles for him in vain?? :faint:

I have a huge soft spot for Eye of the Tiger. It was our main routine at Cheerleading camp lol. I was serious with the HS dejavu.

It IS possible to enjoy Eye of the Tiger and the Beatles. I promise. Just not at the same time.

You'll have to clue me in on what you had (if that tidbit of info isn't already gone too.......). Or maybe Cynthia might remember!
Sounds like I may need to try it next time I'm there!!!

:lmao:

I remember she thought I was nuts for heading back in, on a Sat, during F&W.

I am also almost positive she took one for the team and waited for our luggage...although actually that doesn't make sense since clearly I changed...so our bags must have been there. She unpacked though, I don't think I did hardly at all.

I would bet money that she got soda in her refillable mug and added something to it. After that....given the lack of pictures....I'm going with

Verandah
Nap
Pool
Yelling at Nick over the ref job fiasco

And not necessarily in any given order :rotfl2: Could have been a mix and maybe she read her book????

On vacation, relaxing. Losing time is a GOOD thing I think!

Great updates! Love your room and that view is awesome! I love that slide, I would love to try it someday.

Love seeing all the T shirt pics, Like others I can't wait to see which ones you bought.

Love your view at Boardwalk Villas! Marlene has announced that that's where she wants to stay when we go on her graduation WDW visit (like Lauren's), which suits me just fine.

The view was awesome! I think Marlene is right on with her BWV request. :thumbsup2 I think you should be good with summer availability.

I'll be getting to my Flying Fish chapter soon, but <spoiler alert> we loved it!

So glad to hear your a fan. I look forward to reading about your dinner there.

Hey - he's a kid - cut him a break. He'll eventually learn to appreciate the Beatles - eventually! ;)

Rick Astley is lame? OMG, I've lost respect for you Glennbo. ;) I loved that song!

:rotfl2:

I was at Epcot a few years ago and just happened to be walking as Survivor came from backstage to the theater to start their show. My, those gentleman have not aged well. ;)

Jill in CO

I did not see Survivor so I will take your word for it!

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Well, at least I can take comfort in the fact that I had your respect at one point!

Easy come. Easy go! :rotfl2:

Pretty sure no one wants to see either of us before or without coffee

:rotfl2:

I'm 100% positive that's true in my case! I don't even want to see myself before I've had coffee! :upsidedow

 Just no winning sometimes, it seems............. :sad1:

Not with the ladies on this TR! :lmao:

You'll have to clue me in on what you had (if that tidbit of info isn't already gone too.......). Or maybe Cynthia might remember!
Sounds like I may need to try it next time I'm there!!!

The one thing I can be sure of is that it involved some sort of rum! Which one, I will never know.

Well at least you didn't crush ALL my hope......... :rolleyes1

I'm glad! :rotfl:

Verandah
Nap
Pool
Yelling at Nick over the ref job fiasco

And not necessarily in any given order :rotfl2: Could have been a mix and maybe she read her book????

And out of those four things, the one that stands foremost in my mind is the ref fiasco! I was so angry about that.

Great updates! Love your room and that view is awesome! I love that slide, I would love to try it someday.

Our room view was really outstanding. We were both so pleased. As far as the slide - I was almost tempted to ride it one afternoon, but I guess I chickened out. :rotfl:

Love seeing all the T shirt pics, Like others I can't wait to see which ones you bought.

She should do a contest. That would make things a bit interesting!

The one thing I can be sure of is that it involved some sort of rum! Which one, I will never know.
Okay, I might not be able to stand out in the sun all day holding up a Coke, but when it comes to having available "refreshment" I am more than willing to be there with some sort of rum drink!!! :drinking1

Of course that might bring up a common question of all the passersby........

"Why is da rum always guhn.......???" ;)

I've caught up 8 out of 12 pages and if I don't stop and comment... I will forget stuff...;)

Nothing like a good wait for TSM fastpasses in the morning...;) they should put a walkby coffee kiosk for people who haven't had one yet or need another...

You ladies did get a lot done early... which is always awesome...

Even though I'm not a diehard Star Wars fan (I like it-I just don't LOVE it) I think that is one of the best drop shops...

I love your tshirt "safari" Cynthia... I think you should think about patenting it... like the cupcake crawl ...;)

What an absolutely stunning view at the Boardwalk (oh which reminds me that the Captain's Grille looked very nice...)

Great Dinner at Flying Fish... I'm a big tuna fan-when it's seared like that...

Hmmm... I know I forgot stuff but I'm feeling a teeny bit under the weather... a combo of time changes from vacation, lots of good& indulgent wine & food and probably most of all- the same kind of college stuff you are talking about with Nick- Mary Ellen... except Em is still waiting on 4 schools...-two release decisions tomorrow and two on the first- she got 3 when we were away... 2 yes, 1 defer and my stomach isn't going to make it throw this whole thing...:(

OH that's right I meant to send you condolences on your digestive woes Mary Ellen ...that's not fun at home... and really not fun on vacation...:crazy2: I really hope that eased up for you...

K-have to catch up on the rest...

Responding from my phone. In my opinion nothing goes better with rum than a coke ! Or vice versa!

Whew! all caught up thanks again to the marvelous links.

Too much to comment on but I'm loving it all.

The view you had at BWV was amazing!
