Sorry DISers

I just used Photoshop to add the text to a green mickey head shape.

Then I found the picture of the bow on google too.

Added it to the image. Printed out both sides. Cut them out stuck them back to back and laminated them. :)

Do a search for the font "Waltograph." It's a free download.

I have a LGMH on my shoulder pack and not one person has approached me. The reason I wear it is so that other DIS'er's can come up and say hello but it hasn't happened yet. I've actually only seen one other on a lady a few dozen people ahead of me in the line for Soarin'. As tempted as I was to squeeze my way up to her, I stayed put and never got the chance to say hello.

I'm thinking of getting a lime-green shirt, putting my screen name on it and in very large words, "Fellow DIS-er's, SAY HI!" Do you think that would work?

I'll be there in May (before Memorial Day) so if you see me, please say hi or give me a wave.

:wave2:

I made a ton of these before our last 2 trips. I put at least 5 of each of our backpacks and carried around an extra 20 in case we ran into a Dis-er so they could have one -- but both times, no one noticed :sad1:

These are very cute! :thumbsup2 How did you make them??

Here are mine. :)

They have a little greasy patch from the double sided tape I used to hold the two sides together in the laminator. :( Never mind I guess.

This is exactly how I was thinking of making mine! Thanks for the awesome pic that confirms it will look great! ;)

We just returned home from Disney. I wore Colleen's green Mardi Gras ears all week on my lanyard and only met one DIS'er. I never saw anyone wearing any lime green ears. The DIS'er I met approached me because of my LGMH. :confused3

This thread has increased my motivation to say find other LGMHs and say hi!!!

I always have one on my bag but I've never had anyone say hi. On the other hand, one year I taped LGMHs (not laminated) all over my door at the Boardwalk Villas and left a pencil taped to the door (an idea I got from the boards). A few people left me messages and their screen names - I was soooo excited. One person was right next door to us!

I will be there for the May scavenger hunt wearing my LGMH proudly!

OP, I was there those dates and carry a back-pack with my lime green mickeys and my Disboard information. If it was me, I would have loved for you to stop.

So if it was me, here you go. Hi, yes I am on the Disboards, my screen name is Tinker'n'fun. I love meeting people in the parks. I have seen your posts and I do hope one day that you get to take over WDW. I'm routing for you! Have a great day at the park and maybe we will see each other again!

If people knowingly attach a mickey head (green) to their person while touring the parks, I would take that as an indication that they want attention. ;)

I have seen lots of green mickey heads in the parks, but I prefer to not advertise that I am a member of the Dis. I have noticed people from touring plans as well, but I dont go talk to them.

People probably notice you and your super-cute buttons, but are hesitant to chat. ;)

Attention or conversation? 'Cause in this specific locale, I'm not thinking a Mickey head in most forms is going to garner any extra attention. :rotfl:;)

Just out of curiosity, why?

just say do you dis? as we were clamoring off the monorail last month with the kids and stroller(with dangling lime green mickey heads) a lady asked me if we were dis'ers i said yes and we both went on walking.

now that being said i've also seen people with tiedye disney shirts like in out thread here....silly me i commented on them and asked if they were dis'ers. i rudely got a no! from them and then they admitted they did "steal" the idea from here. it's like being a dis'er was beneath them.

Ironically, my DH has met more DISers at his work here in CO, than I have at WDW!! :confused3. I should just keep it on my purse all the time and see if anyone recognizes it. My DH just stopped someone in the hallway (he works in a very large bldg!) at work one day that was carrying a DVC mug and they started talking. He was another DISer. Then he saw someone else with some type of Mickey, and same thing (can you tell DH is extremely shy? :rotfl: ). Funny thing is, DH isn't a DISer himself (I have a suspicion he lurks tho). But he does always ask me what's new on the DIS, and supports my habit

Hmm, I just bought new luggage that is lime green, will that count?!?! LOL

Too bad it isn't shaped like Mickey.

That's a great idea. I am going to do that next trip!

I really think the issue is people don't know what to say or kind of have that fear of rejection thing going on. But if they see the LGMHs and the pencil they know you hope for a shout-out and they can leave a note without any hesitation or embarrassment.

That's why I still think an autograph or a swap of some type is a good idea. it's kind of an icebreaker.
