Sorry DISers

welcome Southern Soprano!

I'm going to do LGMH this time too (first week of June) and even though I generally look pissed off, I"m not. I just have that sort of face ROFL. So if you see the dark haired woman who looks pissed then please see approach me. I will smile.

Hopefully my dh won't be carrying the backpack when you do LOL. He'll have no clue.

I will be there May 9-16, and I have my LGMH from Home Depot ready to go. PLEASE say hello if you see me--it would make my day!

We'll all have LGMHs on too and are going basically the same days! Say hi if you see one of us too!

:lmao:

Last year I did not see one LGMH nor did anyone approach me. Will try again this year, though.

Honestly, no offense to anyone on the board, but if I was walking around the park and noticed someone with a disboards logo/theme/etc., I wouldn't stop and talk to you.

Before you get , that's just how I am. I'm like OP, I wouldn't approach anyone I didn't know and start up a convo. Now, if we were at, say, Biergarten (where I think they put people together at tables) and I noticed you, I'd say 'hi'.
Or if I sat next to you at a show, etc. etc. Otherwise, I wouldn't want to interrupt anyone's vacation. It's probably akin to a celebrity getting mobbed for autographs when all they want to do is get a coffee. :surfweb:

I put one on our backpack last November, and never saw a single other one. Nobody approached us, but maybe bc my DH was carrying the pack and he always looks like he's mad, even tho he isn't. Maybe I'll put it on my lanyard this December!

i go decked out with LGMH's every time and have only had 2 ( maybe 3) people interactions. Some i spotted 1 spotted me. LOL one i spotted while they were waitting for a parade and it was the DH or grandpa, but they didn't have any idea what i was talking about. He was like.. uh Hon.....? as he was turning to the woman that Dised. I was laughing inside along with feeling like a moron. I have to force myself to say hi bc as mentioned, ( and i feel the same way) if they have the LGMH displayed, they are open to be recognized and greeted.

I agree if you see a Disser ( dizzer in my head) i would just get their attention and say along the lines of " Hey, noticed the LGMH. I'm __________ on the DisBoards. How's your vacation going?" and close with " Hope you have a magical time the rest of your stay" or something along those lines. lol.

Anybody there the end of September.... i'm always ready to say hi! ;0)

I too thought about putting a LGMH on my backpack for our previous May trip, but didn't. I would LOVE to meet another Diss-er (that's how I say it too) :) I remember seeing someone in line at WPE with a LGMH on her backpack, but I'm kinda shy too so I didn't say anything. I also memember walking by a room at POFQ decked out in lime green! Maybe for our November trip I'll sport some lime green :thumbsup2

Please come up and say hello! Just say "hey...a diser! Awesome...I'm on the disboards too...I'm....(fill in the blank).
We'll be there from the 19th to the 26th! Our 2 girls will have laminated LGMH's around their necks (with our cell numbers on them) and I'll have one tied to my leaf green baggalini!

I'll keep an eye out for you - DH and I are there from the 20th-25th. I'll have mine attached to my cross body bag!

I want a lime green Mickey sticker or something lol. How do i get one?

most people go to home depot and get the paint chip in the disney paint section. It's already shaped like a Mickey Head..and it's lime green

or you could just print one off your computer and and laminate it.

LOl duh. I didnt think about making them homemade.

I had problems on our trip to Fort Wilderness. I'd spent time on the camping threads and they helped me plan and learn a lot. They talked about putting Dis info outside the campsite so each could be identified. Many of them plan to get together. They return from trips and "talk" to each other via Dis threads they enter together. I even went so far to acquire my lime green MH.

BUT, at the end of the day. I decided I was a tent camping female alone with my two children (and had discussed as much on the Dis) and I really just wanted to keep my anonymity and not draw any additional attention to us for our own safety. I want to teach internet safety to my children and how NOT to meet up with perfect strangers. How could I be so hypocritical as to do exactly that?

Here are mine. :)

They have a little greasy patch from the double sided tape I used to hold the two sides together in the laminator. :( Never mind I guess.

That was probably wise. I have been on the internet for a long long time and I have met people online many times, however, I do always have to remind myself that there are really creeps out there lurking around even a place as friendly seeming as this. It's not the people who are participating that you'd worry about necessarily, it's the ones lurking and reading. "ohhh. single female on site xxxx"...

We had the LGMH on last May for the first time. I met one member at AK while waiting in the entrance line and one at the Wishes Dessert party. Happy to say hello and to wish you a Magical Vacation if I notice you or you notice me.

Disboard has provided us with so many tips and inside information. The reviews of restaurants and tours are great. We were able to try new events like the Dessert party only because of the information from here.

After reading hundreds of messages and reviews I feel I get to know you and should want to at least say Hello and acknowledge we have some common interests.

Unfortunately I don't know how soon we will be going back  with college to pay for so for now :surfweb: I will live my Disney experience through all of you.

Will you be there in September/October this year? ;) That is real DIS hospitality! :thumbsup2

If you run into her, call me!! I'll be there in Sept/Oct, too! ;)

Not a LGMH but I do DISigns in the DISign thred. Last October while in the parks I just happened to look over and notice a family with a shirt disign I did here on the boards. I was so excited to see something I knew was mine! I went over and just mentioned I loved their shirts and asked where they got them to make sure. The said the disign was from here and I explained I was the one that made them and it was so much fun and they thanked me. I was fun talking to them and really wasn't a long talk just about 5 min. Nice to meet other DIS people.

That's how I spotted the one DISer I've ever chatted with at WDW. She had a DISign on her shirt that I recognized from the boards. We exchanged screen names, but I didn't write it down and couldn't remember. It was fun to chat, though.

The LGMH pins are soooooo cute!!! Wish I'd run into you!

I've met a few DISers on purpose, but I haven't really noticed the LGMHs around the parks. I'll keep an eye out this fall!

The color name is "Alien Green" from Toy Story's little green men.

Oooooo, the claw!!! :lmao:

I agree....I LOVE THESE!! Sooo cute!

My question is this: How did you get the font on the LGMH? I have the font on my computer but I don't have the LGMH there, so I can't print something on them because I printed a bunch from on here.
Btw, I'm computer illiterate. :thumbsup2
