Soon To renew My AP

My AP expires soon and will be renewing it. I am wondering if anyone has renewed recently if the passes are still the flimsy 'paper: type or if they have been changed to the plastic type?? Disneyland's AP are the plastic type and they are more durable. The paper type WDW has are always getting bent and dog eared in my wallet. And now I hear they arent giving out the little folder that goes with it so the paper Ap is going to get messes up even more. I am hoping for the plastic type.

I got mine renewed in Oct, and a friend got hers when she was visiting in Nov, and they were still the paper ones.

I keep mine in the little folder, and most times carry them all the time in my wallet, and they are fine. If they don't have the AP folders - they did in Nov, ask for a regular ticket folder. I have saved the folders that I have gotten when I have bought various party tickets, and tickets for visitors, so I have a stock pile of them! The current APs that we got are the 4 new rides for the Happiest Celebration- I do miss the Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Donald pictures!!!

It is still the paper. I used my AP quite a bit the last two years and it still looks very new. You don't have to worry about it breaking and it is actually quite sturdy.

My husband was absolutely terrified after our drenching on Kali River Rapids that our APs were ruined, everything in his wallet was dripping. They, surprisingly, worked fine after drying. It must be some special type of paper. We, on the other hand, took forever to dry out. Add to that the neverending bus ride back to the CR. DD8 now swears that we are never doing Kali again!

Have you ever tried to rip one of the paper tickets ~ it won't happen (or at least its very very hard to do so) When we went in Dec they handed out the cover booklet as well.

Thanks for the replies. In the last issue of the Mickey Monitor it stated that they wouldn't have the jacket with the passports anymore but maybe that starts in january. I must be hard on my AP as i have had to have it replaced twice due to the fact it wouldnt insert into the turnstile reader thingy and another time the magnetic strip was worn so they replaced it for me. I keep it in my wallet in the jacket all year. I am planning on going to the MK after the holiday crowds leave in jan. and will renew then.

yea we just recieved our vouchers and they are CC type the KttW are so whats the deal. Not a big deal as I keep them in a lanyard type card holder but a years abuse is bad.

Just activated my AP on the 12th and it is very flimsy. I was shocked that for 420.00 I wasn't getting a nice plastic type card like I got for my AP at freaking Dollywood for crying out loud! Oh well, like the PP said we got drenched on Kali and it still worked afterwards, although I did have some trouble 2 days later at the MK with it. I'm sure I'll probably lose it before my next use and have to get another one.
