Sometimes the Best Plan is to Forget the Plan!!

Which cruise should we go on in 2011?!

Hi Kimmy!

Just a quick comment on cruises, both for you and the PP that was talking about motion sickness.

My aunt went on both the 3 day and the 7 day cruises. She didn't get seasick on the 3 day, but on the 7 day she was in bed for two days because she felt so sick. I went on the 3 day last year and felt just fine, although my sister in law felt a bit queasy on the first night.

I am not saying that AT ALL to discourage you, just to keep in mind. She finally got the seasickness patch (don't know what it's called) at a port of call and felt MUCH better.

She asked one of the crew later why she would feel so differently on the 7 day vs 3 day, and they told her it's because on the 3 day, you are not going that fast and you are in a pretty small geographic area, not too far from Florida. But on the 7 day, you are going faster AND in more open water, so that can affect some people much more than shorter cruises.

Just my 2 cents. :lmao: But keep telling us your plans - we love to hear them! My aunt and uncle and their kids are going on the Mediterranean cruise in 2011 and I am thinking about packing myself in their suitcase. :thumbsup2

TOT is definitely the best ride! Its my favorite ever!!
I loved the pic of my parents in the car! I wish I had gotten a family one!

Whatever happened with that cruise you guys won? I hope it works out. And you guys said you have dream vacations planned until 2013 right? Well maybe that could be 2014! lol!

We decided to not do it. We didn't want to drive back to Dallas to listen to their spheil (I have no clue how you spell that...but you get my point) and then get down to the cruise and realize there are all kinds of other fees tacked on. Plus, we don't really have the vacation time since we're saving for another trip next year with my family. And we'd have to buy cruise dresses/clothes and stuff...it ended up just not being worth it. But we would love to go on a Disney Cruise or a Christian Family Cruise (I don't remember what line they use) someday. Haha--yeah--we have tons of vacations planned. The question is, will we have the time or money to go on them all?! :upsidedow

Thats so interesting! I've never thought of that as being why!! I think I will bring something like the bands or the patch just in case, but I generally don't have any motion sickness!

I will definitely let you guys know of my plans! Maybe I'll continue to use this thread as an "unofficial" ptr...since I think 2 years is a little long for an "official" one! Right now I'm planning on an Eastern Caribbean one and definitely want to go parasailing on Castaway Cay!

Oh yeah, I can see how everything else can get added on and really add up. That's really too bad! I generally just use my tax refund for vacations!! Plus, this one is so far in advance, I'll get TWO refunds before we go! But I'm hoping that I can somehow squeeze a trip in next year too...I might cry if I don't get one next year!

HAHAHA...didn't know you were a Bears fan!! I'm very glad for the trade!! Thanks! I was actually at the Bears/Broncos pre-season game with a Bears fan...oh man! That was crazy!!!

yep big fan...did you guys not like cutler, he really did not like it out there did he?

that would have been fun to go to.

i would love to go to a bears game, but our tickets are so pricey, decent seats are close to 200 a person

nose bleed section almost 100

mile high stadium is pretty cool, we drove past it in 05 also went to golden CO, to the coors brewery, on our way to avon CO for a week long vacation.

also went to vail, white water rafter with river runners i think it was, and horse back riding in, i want to say leadville? maybe it was pretty cool, our breakfast site overlooked the continental divide, also took a train ride in the mountains around leadville as well, i think that was the name of the town.

it is fun in CO in the summer alot to do and alot of stuff was free cause there tourist time was down, not much sking going on during the summer there.
:rotfl:

then down to a family reunion

Well...we didn't like him. I'm sure you know everybody here (and maybe in the whole nfl) thinks he's cry baby. We just got fed up with his attitude. I mean, I can understand getting a little mad if your name is being talked about being traded but then he just completely ignored our owners and everyone's calls and wouldn't even talk it out, ya know? I think we all just miss Elway from back in the day!! Oh well. This is just such a transitional year for us altogether!

Our tickets are pretty pricey too! I TRY to go to at least one game a year and if I'm going to shell out such a large amount, I try to go all out. Last year I had seats like 5 rows up from the field. It was great! Luckily I went to the Bears game for free! That was such a good game! I'm one of those people who likes trash-talking at games...all in good fun, nothing BAD, ya know? It was great when EVERYONE booed Cutler.

Colorado is great in the summer! I'm not much of a winter sport person though! I've only gone snowboarding once even though I've lived here my whole life!! If I was this place would be perfect year-round!

Isn't that dessert at Sci-Fi just amazing? It was my favorite dessert all week (plus, it was my birthday). Love your ride pics!

Great update!

Your photopass pics turned out great, especially the balloon one ( I love how you posed like they were pulling you off the ground) and the jumping one.

You are so pretty! I am jealous at how nice and put together you look. I always feel like such a mess when touring the parks.

I read your PTR, and now I'm finally catching up with your TR! I'm loving it so far, your pictures are so cute! Can't wait for your next update about HS. :woohoo:

KIMMY!!! The dessert you had at Sci-Fi is THE BEST!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!

Girl, love the pic of you posing in front of the hat! You go girl, lol. So cute.

Oh and I voted for the eastern cruise! Castaway Cay is awesome!!

Okay, so I'm slow, but I finally got the baby pics of Mitchell uploaded to Photobucket. So, here you go!

Here he is at about Landon's age, maybe not quite ten months here, but close:

And another one with his halloween tattoo on his cheek. We had just got back from a halloween party.

HALLOWEEN076.jpg

And one of him today. I know you've read my TR, but I'll post one anyways. My baby will be five years old on Christmas Eve!!!

So now you know why I'm a sucker for big brown eyes every time!!!!

Thanks!! I definitely didn't feel put together! I never wear my hair like that, especially without any type of product--which I didn't even bring! But I'm glad no one could tell...and for the record, you never even looked like a mess. Maybe its just a feeling we both have, but neither of us really are? :confused3

Thanks!! I think that PhotoPass guy was telling me to have an attitude or be sassy or something.

Oh my goodness!! Mitchell was so cute!! He still is...he really looks the same a lot!! Some people change so much from baby to little boy, but you can really still easily tell its him!! Those eyes...oh those eyes!! Little boys with big brown eyes just melt my heart!! I'm a huge sucker now too!

Thanks for letting me put those out there, Kimmy! It was fun sharing... It was also hard going back and looking at all of those sweet little baby pics. I miss those days more than I cared to admit before! They go by so fast. :sad2:

I am looking forward to seeing how little Landon grows and I have no doubts that he's gonna be one handsome little man! Those big brown beauties of his is gonna break a few hearts, don't you know? :goodvibes

No problem! I can kind of understand the feeling...and I know I will just understand it more the bigger my little guy gets! I was looking at pics from when he was brand new last night and its amazing how much he's grown! And how much hair he has and his teeth and all that...wow. I already miss it. Its flying by!!

Thanks!! Landon is already such a flirt...I could be in trouble!! But I'm going to raise him right so he's stays a gentleman!! Mitchell is so adorable!! It was great seeing those pictures of him!!

HUGE, AMAZING POST NEXT!

Your TR is so good! Zebra Domes are wonderful, aren't they?

I liked your review of HDDR. I doubt we will ever go there, doesn't seem like our kind of entertainment. I know you said you liked it, even if you didn't think you would, but I don't see Max ever setting foot there willingly! :)

And I am also in love with Tower of Terror. It gets me all nervous every time, and I just love the feeling you get walking through the queue!

I am also getting some good ideas for photopass pictures for our next trip! (Mainly the jumping!) Love all your pics, girl!

Ok so I left off not knowing where my parents were and after they missed multiple calls from me. Finally they call me and I tell them go the opposite way that I did so we would meet somewhere on the Streets of America. I have no idea what they were doing that took so long…or maybe I’m just impatient. Hehe.

We met back up easily. Is it just me or are the SOA the HOTTEST area in all of HS? I couldn’t believe how hot it was!! We wanted to get out of there quick, and even though we saw Mulch, Sweat and Shears starting a performance, we headed out of there!

We went the way I had, down past Sci Fi and the ABC quick service. I offered to let my parents go on the Great Movie Ride but they said no. I think they would’ve really liked it and my mom hadn’t even gone on anything yet, but they didn’t want to. Oh well. So we headed over to the Studios area with the Animation place and the Playhouse Disney stuff. And who was there but Handy Manny himself!! Handy Manny is Landon’s most favorite show and has been his whole life. Every time that show has come on his whole life, he watches with such focus and gets so excited. It’s adorable.

Lucky event numero uno: they let us in line with the stroller since Landon was still passed out. Lucky event number the next one (name that movie!): we were the last family let in this line and Manny wouldn’t be back for another couple of hours!! We just HAD to get these pics even if Landon was asleep since it was his favorite but I guess Landon sensed his favorite guy and woke up the exact second it was our turn to meet him!

Image132.jpg

Image136.jpg

Then we went out to this cart and bought Landon a Handy Manny doll and these bath toys that are on sale for $3! There’s Alice, Hercules, Peter, Aladdin, Dopey and Pinnochio. While we were standing at this cart, a CM came over to us and started talking. I think his name was Blake. Thanks to the Dis, I just KNEW something awesome was going to happen. (I later found out my dad thought he was just talking to us for no reason, lol!) He was asking us if it was just us 3 adults in our party and if it was our first time there and if we had ridden Toy Story Mania. I let him know we didn’t because that we had been more interested in the thrill rides, even though I had wanted to ride TSM. And what does he hand us?
P1030337.jpg

FAST PASSES FOR TOY STORY MANIA AVAILABLE FOR USE ANY TIME THE REST OF THE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! How insanely lucky! I had thought we wouldn’t get to ride this trip! I was SO ecstatic. We’ll call this lucky event number three!

Pop Pop was ready to go play but before we left the area, I just HAD to do the Animation Academy. I had thought my parents would do something together but my mom wandered through shops with Landon while my dad sat on a bench. Silly Pop Pop! He should’ve at least come with me!

We got to draw Chip!! Now next to the animator’s and everyone else around me, mine looked awful! But by itself, it’s alright, so I’ll show you! Haha!
P1030336.jpg

Then we headed over to TSM!!!! Wooohooo!! Here’s me and my mom being excited!
P1030338.jpg

I almost didn’t post this one…but now you guys can see how frizzy my hair was and that I really was a mess! And look at how goofy I look…I was just so excited that cheesy smile was plastered on my face!! (Pop Pop was much too cool to take a pic with the glasses on!)

I played with my mom and Pop Pop rode by himself. They put 2 single riders on opposite sides and let them go on one thing. I wonder why they couldn’t put the 2 singles together and then let a pair on the other side? Oh well!
P1030340.jpg

I won!! My dad did better than me though…I think he got 94thousand-something.

Landon had tons of fun sitting in between us and spinning around. After he wanted grab the string!
P1030346.jpg

Here he was reaching for it:
P1030345.jpg

P1030348.jpg

I’m asking for a Wii for Christmas and NEED this game to go with it!

After that, across the way, Andy’s room was open!! (Which it hadn’t been when I went by earlier by myself.) And what’s lucky event number 4? We were the 3rd family in line!! It had opened almost exactly when we got off TSM, so we didn’t have to wait really at all! It was so awesome!

Love this queue.
P1030349.jpg

P1030350.jpg

P1030352.jpg

P1030353.jpg

I’m sure all these pics will be so much cuter when Landon knows what’s going on and how to look at the camera! Lol!

Before we knew it, he was meeting some of his favorite characters!!
P1030360.jpg

Image143.jpg

Image145.jpg

Image148.jpg

Image150.jpg

(In this last one, I had wanted them to just stand with him like Manny had, but apparently it wasn’t allowed since Landon didn’t have shoes on. I wish they were consistent in all their enforcement of rules! So now we all are just crouched and look silly. Lol!)

After this, we were ready to start heading out, but I had fast passes for TOT to use!! Okay, actually I think we had another hour or two before we could use them…but we’ll get to that in a second. HA! Now that I wasn’t trying to get my little bear to nap, I needed some pics with him in front of the most awesome hotel ever!
Image152.jpg

This was the ONLY PhotoPass person the ENTIRE trip who actually tried to get Landon to smile. The other ones just tried to get him to look at the camera. She was great. She played peek-a-boo with him behind the camera. It was cute! She was so awesome!

Then I rode the most amazing ride EVER one last time. Now it was posted a ten or fifteen minute wait and so we walked in that line. But then, my dad said that only the guy in front checks the fast passes and the guy at the end just collects them, so we hopped over the chain since we were leaving before we would even get to use them. And while it worked and the guy at the end did just take them, we were still in the room with the same people we were right behind and who were behind us in the stand-by line. Lol. Oh well.

This ride was the perfect one to end it on. I love how it’s a different sequence every time! The first two times the elevator dropped us first, this time it shot us up before dropping us! So awesome! Okay…I need to stop talking about this ride before I get into a depression because I want to ride it so bad!

Then we started to leisurely head out of the parks. I should’ve pressed for one more last ride. My mom was happily trading pins with every cast member she saw instead of just being bored and waiting for us for once! She finally discovered it! So we traded and walked through shops on the way out of the park. And guess what I did? More Photo Pass! Yay!
Image156.jpg

Image160.jpg

Then sadly, we leave. HS and MK are tied for most favorite park for me. And I knew I would be back to MK soon but not to HS for who knows who long.

And then we encounter some HUGE issues in the parking lot…any guesses? And what do we do for the rest of the night?

Yes, you definitely have the right mind set. Children who have no manners is one of my greatest pet-peeves. Poor Mitchell has had please and thank you and May I ground into his little brain from the get go! And yes ma'am and no ma'am and excuse me. He even corrects ME from time to time!

I love it!

You are such a good mother. Landon is very blessed to have you. As I know you are blessed to have him.

Have a good day!!!

Hey!! Glad you're on again! I've been wondering where you went again!! :goodvibes

Yeah...I'm a HUGE fan of Zebra Domes!! MMMM I think they should offer them everywhere and call them "heaven truffles" since the zebra theme doesn't fit everywhere!

I don't know if my parents would've gone to HDDR if they had known what it was. I didn't want to but it was kind of the only option (no luau available and my parents didn't want to do another signature restaurant!) Sometimes you just stumble on things that work out!

I think thats one of the best parts of TOT...how nervous it makes you! It just adds to the thrill and adrenaline!! I love it! :lovestruc

I'm glad you're getting good Photo Pass ideas!! I want to jump in front of every park icon plus the TOT!! I just love jumping! I can't wait until Landon can jump! It'd be so cute to have your kids do that!! Even the whole family...that would be great! I think I'm going to make my family do that every year once I have all my own (like my own DH and stuff!)

Everyone keeps posting the same time as me! I'm going to get called a ninja again!! :rotfl:

I know what you mean about manners...I'm already doing things to teach them to Landon. Like not letting him hit or freak out if I take something from him (things that he grabs that he's not allowed to play with). One time my mom was just letting him hit her because he thought it was funny! I know it doesn't hurt, but that's not a habit I want him to develop!

I'm glad that you've done such a good job of teaching Mitchell that he even helps you remember your manners! :goodvibes So cute and a good job on your part!

Thanks for thinking I'm a good mom! That's like the highest compliment I can get these days! It means a lot!

I hope you're having a good day too!

I just got all caught up on your TR! :) I've been reading for a couple of days but finally had the time to comment! Landon is PRECIOUS! He looks like a GOOD baby! wow!!! i hope i can one day have one like that!! :lovestruc Love love love all your pictures with the photopass... and all your jumping ones! How cute!!! you're soo pretty!! i never thought about doing that! i've been to disney over 150 times and never really take advantage of the photopass people! not next time!! haha!

OH! And I have to agree with your passion for the ToT!!!! ITS MY FAVORITE FAVORITE FAVORITE ride!!!!! best EVERRR! I just loved how you talked about it... my Mom and I went on it 9 times during a parade once! LOL!!! She won't go on ANY rollar coasters but she'll ride that and we laugh hysterically on it the whole time!! i'm so glad there's someone else who likes it as much as I do! LOL I crave it all the time!!

Looking forward to hearing more :)
