Hey Mac...we need to help Janet with the details of Stay and Scream for HHN. I replied to her post so lets be good homies and help her with this. :thumbsup2

Now....here's an update on the pet situation:

I spoke to the Senior Operations Manager on Friday afternoon about this whole situation. He explained to me the counselor was only doing his job and there must have been a misunderstanding somewhere. The counselor told the SOM that I said the dog would be outside alone during the day which was not the case at all. I explained that it was my opinion the counselor heard me say "outside" and decided right then and there to say no but let me go through the whole process before turning me down. I told him I was unaware of their policies and expressed my concern that most people who come in probably have no idea letting the dog outside is a no-no. I questioned the number of adoptions through that shelter if they were treating others the same way.

Anyway...the SOM told me I was welcome to come back and adopt one of their animals. After dealing with this all last week, I'm kinda put off from going back down there again. I'm going to look at pet rescues in the area and try to find one that way.

Did they already adopt out the dog you wanted and can understand why the whole experiance would turn you off from these guys.

They did but that's not the real reason I'm having trouble going back there. Go back several pages and read my post of what happened when I went to adopt.

Oh ok I'm sorry cause I haven't been on in awhile and didn't know

I can see why you would be more leery of going back. Good Luck with the pet rescues. Most (if not all) require a fenced in yard. so you have that going for you....right?!? :thumbsup2 If you need references, let us know.....we got yer back!!

Again - Good Luck and keep us posted on your search for a furry friend :thumbsup2

Hey Homies!

Been trying to catch up, but I am SO far behind.....give me the golden globe for laziness :lmao: :lmao:

So COngrats to those who earned it, Feel Better for those who are sick, and :lmao: Good Luck for us all!!!

Hope to be a little more "in tune" this week :rolleyes1 But already tomorrow afternoon is out of the question - helping out in FBean's K class :scared:

Trip is a GO! So I need to draft a really nice letter to the Middle School :scared: (they are WAY more strict about attendance) What kind of educational value comes with a vacation to U/IOA/Seaworld and what kind of report can I promise them from Kbean - other than the obvious information about Sea life/mammals at SeaWorld?? Suggestions being taken now ;)

We're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge next Friday night. Is that what you mean?

yes! what type of room did you book? I'm looking to save points/$ & book what they call a "value" studio - evidently the smaller standard rooms over a "standard" studio which has been converted from the Deluxe rooms?
here's a link to pics i got today; def. think i'd rather take a chance (& spend less points) to get a savannah room-even if it is of the ostriches?

values = green
standard = yellow

penny - i agree, AK is very far flung (i've never ventured back there); especially from MK; just thought it'd keep us occupied since we won't have any MYW tix:rolleyes1 that trip. ps i am scared silly of clowns:scared: ; don't mind the one @ BW-reminds me of bozo? (fun slide too lol)

metro - thanks bud, as to HHN-just not getting it? trying to make that trip work cheap...funds are flying out the window:headache: ; need to get a handle on overall costs this year for travel.popcorn:: PS any doggie would be blessed to have you as his caretaker:wizard:

i'm full of it...i mean them:rolleyes1

wonder if Kelly has a section in his book, will have to drag it out & check

i'm sure i'm making it way harder than it needs be; sorta my superhero power;)

trip report suggestions for Kbean:goodvibes

look at the seaworld map
do a paragraph on sections like penguins, sharks, whales and others

with us /ioa, how about a report on jobs, and how they invovle school skills like math and english and even science and history

math is needed to make change for food orders, merchandise and tickets, and also attendance counting

english is needed to communicate, and use written instructions performing jobs and job safety,

science with the sea world part and the rides like coasters(physics) and history in getting accurate info that is presented in shows and such........

I'm baaaaaack!

Boards weren't working earlier. Been home since 5ish. I'm sick, but it didn't start until last night. We had a GREAT trip and I'll tell you all about it as soon as I can recover. :goodvibes

Hey Homies!
Stoppin' in for a minute before I go tan and then go to Wal-Mart. I won't be PUI tonight.....
Lori, you know it's almost a 6 hour trip from your house to my house. I mapped it last night when we were talking about margaritas.
Damo you're leaving tomorrow. I hope you have a WONDERFUL time! I know you will!
Who wants to meet at Damo's house in SC and party while she's gone? ;) I'll make margaritas! I've got a great big huge machine that I can bring. It makes a gallon at a time.
Have fun on your trip and we promise we'll clean up the mess before you get home!

From the mathematician hiding in all of us - how about giving Kbean the budget and tell her how to figure out where can a family of 5 eat reasonably at the parks. Also for math - if you are driving - how many gallons of gas will it take and how much?? I probably got a million ideas - if you really need them.;)

Welcome Back Tricia.

You would be proud - I actually watched the last 10 laps. Couldn't spot you in the crowd though.

:) Jennifer

Marcie - as to the 71" of snow. I don't think we ever got that much in a season.

Although about 5 years ago on President's Holiday - we did get almost a foot. It shut the area down for about 2-3 days - the malls, stores, etc. were closed for at least the first day. Colleges and offices were closed as well. Supposedly, we are a poor state (that much is true) and we can't afford the good stuff to clear the roads. We've got cinders and snow plows and that's about it.

Not to brag - but we have had a mild winter so far. :)

He's had too much....as I have too....

Well if he thought the sun was out at that hour I would say he had too much.

Lori - interested in knowing more about this. What stuff do you buy/use and how is it done?

:) Jennifer

So, how much info do you want? I was really impressed with the treatment. I can't wait to do it again Wednesday. Most importantly I want to get Michael using it to see if it will help with his asthma. I am even going to drive to her house every 3 or 4 days for a few weeks to get his system cleansed and it is an hour one way.

Anyway, this is the information she sent me. Read it if you would like or just ignore it. It really made a lot of sense to me. And you should have seen my water. Don't know if I mentioned this yesterday but my sister did it originally at a health show she was at for thirty minutes and it did primarily the joints. When she did it again it did pull out some parasites.Really disgusting thought but more disgusting that they are in us to begin with.

The Ionic Detox Foot Spa creates precisely the same environment as a walk along the beach, only more powerfully because your feet are in direct contact with the ions being manufactured in the water. Place your feet in the water, turn on the unit and within seconds, millions of ions enter your body and begin to neutralize tissue acid wastes. A water molecule is composed of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen
atom. When the molecule loses a hydrogen atom, the remaining OH molecule takes on a negative charge. As you walk along the beach,
your body absorbs millions of these negatively charged ions, which alkalize the blood and tissue. The residues found in the water after
bathing reflect the wastes that have left the body during the 20 to 30 minute session. Your body will feel lighter after the first session. You will think more clearly, have more energy and enjoy a greater sense of well-being.

The body accumulates a variety of toxins each day through the skin, digestive system and lungs. These toxins, which may be very harmful, are absorbed by our bodies on a daily basis. The toxins are stored in our cells, causing the cells to die faster, resulting in pre-mature aging, disease, and acidic pH levels. An Ionic Detox Foot Spa can help cell regeneration and boost your body pH from an acidic level to an alkaline level with only one 30 minute treatment. Continued use of the Ionic Detox Foot Spa has helped individuals across North America for a wide range of ailments.

Eliminating toxins is the first step in giving the body a chance to heal itself. Detoxification is fundamental to any health building program and detoxifying through the feet is ideal. There are over 360 acupuncture points on the body with more than 60 on the soles of the feet. Acupuncture points and reflexology points reflect the organs and other areas of the body which make the feet ideal for detoxification.

Today our toxic exposure is at an all time high and toxins are one of the primary causes of degenerative diseases in people today like Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Kidney Problems, Autism and Muscular Dystrophy.

Toxins come from: Our foods are sprayed with pesticides, our water has chlorine and flouride, the air we breathe is polluted, our cleaning supplies, soaps, shampoos and detergents are loaded with chemicals and many have sodium laurel sulfate which is known to cause cancer. Our mercury fillings, lead, arsenic, aluminum, vaccinations that are given to us by doctors and our household adhesives, paints and other home products like plastic used in the microwave, tobacco, drugs and more all contribute to more toxins in our bodies that lead to disease, allergies, mental incapacitation with side effects like swelling, rashes, insomnia, headaches, fatigue and pain.

Toxins that enter the body turn to acid which leads to acidosis and disease.

Beginning Symptoms of Acidosis include:
fatigue, headaches, bloating, acne, constipation, food allergies, panic attacks, slow circulation and joint pain.

Intermediate symptoms of acidosis include:
asthma, bronchitis, insomnia, psoriasis, fungus, depression, cold sores.

Advanced symptoms of acidosis include:
cancer, fibromyalgia, weight gain, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, diabetes, lupus,
leukemia, heart disease and migraines.

According to Dr. Robert O. Young's book, "Sick and Tired", the New Biology , most simply stated, is that the over-acidification of the body is the single underlying cause of all disease. Dr. Young has found that when the body is in healthy alkaline balance, diseases are unable to get a foothold. How Does the Ionic Detox Foot Spa Work to Detoxify? The Ionic Detox Foot Spa was specifically designed to help
detoxify the human body using a process called “Electrolysis/ Osmosis”, which is an effective, safe, gentle, easy to use system.

The system uses a dual electrode module (a positive anode and a negative cathode) called an “array”, which is placed in the water of the spa. The array creates an electromagnetic field in the spa and allows for a process called “osmosis” to occur. Osmosis is a scientific term that is used to describe the movement of particles from one location to another, through a membrane or tissue. The array, once placed in the water, creates a high concentration of charged ions, allowing the process of Osmosis to occur. The energized ions in the water act like magnets, drawing toxins out of the body through the 2000+ sweat glands located in each foot. Toxins are removed from the body and deposited in the water.

The color of the water indicates where Toxins were removed from the body.

Possible side effects: Relaxation, feeling of well-being, better sleep, less stiffness & aching in joints & muscles, better elimination,
greater focus & concentration.

Color or Particle Material or Area of Body
Yellow-green Detoxifying from the kidneys, bladder, urinary tract, female / prostate area

Orange Detoxifying from joints

Brown Detoxifying from liver, tobacco, cellular debris

Black Detoxifying from liver

Dark green Detoxifying from gallbladder

White foam Lymphatic system

White cheese-like Most likely yeast particles

Black flecks Heavy metals

Red flecks Blood clot material

In today's toxic environment, tissue acid wastes, chemical and heavy metal residues build up in the body faster than ever before, resulting in a greater incidence of allergies, mental and physical incapacitation. We have begun to hear more about herbal and homeopathic detoxification programs by alternative health practitioners as a way of reducing symptomology and maintaining health.

All healing traditions -Egyptian, Native American, Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Chinese, Shamanic -except Western Medicine offer body cleansing as a means of healing and avoiding disease.

ION CLEANSE FOOT BATH EFFECTIVENESS
Physical evidence has demonstrated the foot spas effectiveness. Studies, through the use of urine tests, have shown that after several treatments, clients had a reduction of nearly 50% in both lead and mercury levels. By testing the spa water before and after a 30 minute treatment, results have shown toxins such as arsenic, lead and nickel in the water after use. These toxins were pulled directly from the body. Measuring blood pH is another way to test the effectiveness of the ion cleanse spa. A few ion cleanse treatments can help raise the pH level from acidic to alkaline, helping to defend the body from viruses/bacteria/disease. Healthy human blood, saliva, fluids etc normally register in a very narrow pH range of 7.35 to 7.45. If pH levels drop much below a reading of 6.8, some body cells cease to function. Accordingly, if someone has indications of a health problem, it may be a sign that their pH is low. Research has shown that the body has difficulty healing itself unless the pH level is slightly alkaline.

As a result, the body may not gain the full effectiveness of any remedial treatments until the pH level has been returned to its normal healthy reading.

NUMBER OF TREATMENTS REQUIRED TO DETOXIFY
In general, 6-12 sessions are recommended, depending on the health status of the user. Subsequently, a maintenance program of 1-4 treatments per month will help to keep the toxin levels and blood pH in balance.

I've been hearing about this too. . . there are some type of pad things you can place on the bottom of your feet and it is supposed to achieve the same thing. . .I know I saw something about this and there was some kind of parasite on the white gauze type pad. . . .eeeewwwwwww is right. . . but I don't know the name of the product or anything. Supposedly you put a new pad on every day until they no longer have anything on them. . .several days later. I don't think I could sit still for an hour with my feet in water, but I could handle putting something on my feet and walking around.

I have seen the pads advertised but know nothing about them or their effectiveness. It really was no problem at all sitting there for an hour. I read info she had and watched the race. Actually most treatments are for just 20 or 30 minutes though.

We are only there for one night and it is after the P&P party. The price of the basic room was already about $350 so we weren't doing any upgrading. It was all that was available. Disney deluxe hotels are crazy expensive for what you get.

I'll give you my opinion of it compared to PBH and RPH when I get back.
