Hey Homies!
Stoppin' in for a minute before I go tan and then go to Wal-Mart. I won't be PUI tonight.....
Lori, you know it's almost a 6 hour trip from your house to my house. I mapped it last night when we were talking about margaritas.
Damo you're leaving tomorrow. I hope you have a WONDERFUL time! I know you will!
Who wants to meet at Damo's house in SC and party while she's gone? ;) I'll make margaritas! I've got a great big huge machine that I can bring. It makes a gallon at a time.
Have fun on your trip and we promise we'll clean up the mess before you get home!

Make sure you take a flashlight. I hear that the gators roam from pond to pond at night.:scared1: I wouldn't want to be held responsible for any gator munchings while I was gone!

if you watch late night tv, you will see the advertisement for those pads.
it's on all the time.
you place the pad on the sole of your feet when you go to bed.
wake up in the morning and remove the pad. do it for 3 nights straight and see how the change is.
i would google it before i bought into that product.

Yeah I would google it too. It seems like it is pretty new so who knows what kind of info there is on it.

you know, i am so addicted to the thread and internet, i was having a melt down over it.........
is there a ten step program to help me?

[

Nope, no ten step program. You have seen my posts “Welcome to the SAN thread. You can check out but you can never leave!” We miss you too when you are missing.

Hey Universal peeps! I haven't had time to drop in for a while - glad to see everyone is still here!

I'm going to Universal Spring Break with my DD's chorus group. But I heard that on top of the chorus festival there will be a cheer competition as well - guess things may be crowded! Oh well!

Hope you all have a great day!!

Have a great time!

lori - just go the travelzoo website & sign up the newsletter (i already deleted last weeks); i'd post the link-don't think we're allowed.

Will do! Thanks.

allison - never had "good" mexican food (tried taco bell once - what is that stuff they call meat in the tacos:scared: ); wasn't too fond of chi-chi's either. Have tried @ chillis & red lobster a chicken dish (i can't remember the name); in a lime marinade with "pico de gallo?" not sure if that's the dryish salsa mixture or the crunchy things that look like pieces of tortillas - very good though...kwim?

That would be the Margarita Grilled Chicken! Yummy!!!!!!

only a one shot deal on their newest ship this summer; wonder if it'll be a permanent thing

could you imagine having booked it (expecting to be able to find a romantic escape-since lots of skools bells have already rung for the new year by then) and not knowing it'll be overrun with "charactars":rotfl:

No way. If I had booked expecting one thing and it changed that drastically I would not be happy.

One more day!!!

Anyone have any requests for when I am down there?

Have a margarita for me?

And have a fabulous trip!

Morning all hope everyone is having a good start to thier day

Hi Lawrence!

Speaking of snow - I know someone asked why the plow drivers were out of overtime and the city out of salt. According to today's paper, last year at this time we had had a total of 16 inches of snow for the winter. This year we've have 71 inches! Guess that might help to explain it! Said we've had more this winter than the last two combined! I got some more good pics of the (now well taller than my 6'1" son) snowbanks to post for you guys sometime!

Everyone have a great day!

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Lori - thanx for the info. Going to go search the internet for the foot spa.:thumbsup2

I have been thinking about the "detox" for a while.

:) jennifer

/
you won't believe the withdrawal i was going thru not being able to contact the homies here.

i felt like an orphan this weekend..........

i got my ressie for HRH for october set up.
now i need to do the disney ressie and plane and car service.
gee, only 233 more days till i go.

until then, i will live thru all of you going on your trips prior to me.

i still haven't gotten around to doing my trippie from 07 or posting the pics.
still thinking about doing that and still thinking about getting my christmas cards out soon.

will it count for 08 now if i send them soon?
or does it go on the record for the 07 christmas?

 I hope you have no more problems getting in here.

Where are you going to stay at Disney? You sure you don't want to come down while Barb & I are there?????

I still need to print out a card to mail to you. Better tape a note to my forehead!

Sorry you have a sickie now too.:wizard:

anyone ever stay @ the AK?

I did. Did you not see my response? I think we stayed for 5 nights in October. It is a wonderful resort. Our only problem was Ally didn't like the spice smells in the food court so we had to eat outside when we ate at the resort. It is amazing to see all those animals. There is even a viewing area off the pool. And the hot tub was the best I have ever used on Disney property.

i wanted to stay at the boardwalk last year and then saw the photos of that FREAKIN' CLOWN AT THE POOL AND SAID NO _______________ WAY.......

We used to want to stay at the BWV's but now have no desire to do so. That pool is creepy at night.

Now....here's an update on the pet situation:

I spoke to the Senior Operations Manager on Friday afternoon about this whole situation. He explained to me the counselor was only doing his job and there must have been a misunderstanding somewhere. The counselor told the SOM that I said the dog would be outside alone during the day which was not the case at all. I explained that it was my opinion the counselor heard me say "outside" and decided right then and there to say no but let me go through the whole process before turning me down. I told him I was unaware of their policies and expressed my concern that most people who come in probably have no idea letting the dog outside is a no-no. I questioned the number of adoptions through that shelter if they were treating others the same way.

Anyway...the SOM told me I was welcome to come back and adopt one of their animals. After dealing with this all last week, I'm kinda put off from going back down there again. I'm going to look at pet rescues in the area and try to find one that way.

Good luck with the pet rescues. It is probably a better place to get the pup from anyway!

They did but that's not the real reason I'm having trouble going back there. Go back several pages and read my post of what happened when I went to adopt.

That sucks!

Evening everyone!

Even on vacation I'm still pooped! :rotfl:

Let's see, nothing exciting really going on, but that is what time off is about I guess.....

Oh and I have to show you the potential design for my bro's head and get your thoughts!

Oh, and I heard a bit on the news last night that Villenueve has been released. Damo should get a new pick since her driver is now shopping for a new ride.

Carpentier perhaps? He is the other Canadian.

I'm fading fast guys. Going to call it a night... zzzzzzzzz

Trip is a GO! So I need to draft a really nice letter to the Middle School :scared: (they are WAY more strict about attendance) What kind of educational value comes with a vacation to U/IOA/Seaworld and what kind of report can I promise them from Kbean - other than the obvious information about Sea life/mammals at SeaWorld?? Suggestions being taken now ;)

Woo Hoo! I guess. Are you sure you don't want wait and come with the Bubba Gang and us? The others have already given more suggestions then I could ever think of.

Are you going to try that new water park at Sea World? It looks fabulous! They have 7 day tickets for I think $79 that are good for Sea World & Aquaticus. I have an email from them if you need it.

yes! what type of room did you book? I'm looking to save points/$ & book what they call a "value" studio - evidently the smaller standard rooms over a "standard" studio which has been converted from the Deluxe rooms?
here's a link to pics i got today; def. think i'd rather take a chance (& spend less points) to get a savannah room-even if it is of the ostriches?

values = green
standard = yellow

AKVJamboViews.jpg

penny - i agree, AK is very far flung (i've never ventured back there); especially from MK; just thought it'd keep us occupied since we won't have any MYW tix:rolleyes1 that trip. ps i am scared silly of clowns:scared: ; don't mind the one @ BW-reminds me of bozo? (fun slide too lol)

When we stayed we were in the green section right by the #6. We really enjoyed our view even though it was not of the animals. There are so many viewing areas around the hotel.

As for it being far flung I really didn't notice it being much different than any of the other resorts we have stayed at.

Also I know you aren't thrilled with SSR but if you aren't going to the parks staying at a resort that is walking distance to DTD might be very nice! We have loved our stays there.

trip report suggestions for Kbean:goodvibes

look at the seaworld map
do a paragraph on sections like penguins, sharks, whales and others

with us /ioa, how about a report on jobs, and how they invovle school skills like math and english and even science and history

math is needed to make change for food orders, merchandise and tickets, and also attendance counting

english is needed to communicate, and use written instructions performing jobs and job safety,

science with the sea world part and the rides like coasters(physics) and history in getting accurate info that is presented in shows and such........

Those are great suggestions!

I'm baaaaaack!

Boards weren't working earlier. Been home since 5ish. I'm sick, but it didn't start until last night. We had a GREAT trip and I'll tell you all about it as soon as I can recover. :goodvibes

Welcome home Tricia! Can't wait to read all about it.

Lori, you know it's almost a 6 hour trip from your house to my house. I mapped it last night when we were talking about margaritas.

Well then I guess I better stay for several!

From the mathematician hiding in all of us - how about giving Kbean the budget and tell her how to figure out where can a family of 5 eat reasonably at the parks. Also for math - if you are driving - how many gallons of gas will it take and how much?? I probably got a million ideas - if you really need them.;)

:) Jennifer

:rotfl: Those are things I figure too!

We are only there for one night and it is after the P&P party. The price of the basic room was already about $350 so we weren't doing any upgrading. It was all that was available. Disney deluxe hotels are crazy expensive for what you get.

I'll give you my opinion of it compared to PBH and RPH when I get back.

:scared1: $350! Were there no discounts available? That is way to much!

can you get a foot treatment anywhere?

do you have anymore info lori?
:goodvibes

I would think you can get a treatment in most areas.

You mean I didn't give enough info?????:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Lori - thanx for the info. Going to go search the internet for the foot spa.:thumbsup2

I have been thinking about the "detox" for a while.

:) jennifer

Good luck finding one. I will ask the sis if she has any idea on how to find places to do it. From reading the info I would say we all need to detox on a regular basis. It really all made sense.

She said on her second one she had some parasites in her water. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

:scared:

been trying to get an internet connection and couldn't figure it out until awhile ago and that our puppy chewed the ubs cable

whoopsie :rolleyes1

Hey Universal peeps! I haven't had time to drop in for a while - glad to see everyone is still here!

:wave2: ....glad to see you pokin' your head in :teeth:

barb - all better:wizard: ? will check out the RCL/Nick (gotta feeing i know where that is going-cool idea imo)

a super target has opened in our area (wonder if that means it has groceries?)...going to check it out today; maybe even drag DS - don't think he's been in a grocery store for at least a year;)

almost better....more energy and stamina today :yay: ....but, aside from cleaning a couple beds & the hydration station at work today, didn't really DO much except sit in front of the computer at work and load all the packages we offer and load all the retail we sell.... Definately on my way to better daze......

Sooo....you gots a SUPER Target, huh? I :lovestruc Target...and if it's 'super'..all the better :thumbsup2 How'd ya make out?

only a one shot deal on their newest ship this summer; wonder if it'll be a permanent thing

could you imagine having booked it (expecting to be able to find a romantic escape-since lots of skools bells have already rung for the new year by then) and not knowing it'll be overrun with "charactars":rotfl:

i don't think they'd have a 'special' ship to do like that (like the hotel), but sounds like they are in 'trial run' to see who bites.... (I don't see them competing with DCL)

One more day!!!

Anyone have any requests for when I am down there?

You need to take a colored sharpie marker and write the homies a 'note' on the bathroom stall at Margaritaville... ;)

Your story reminded of the 1st Nascar (Winston Cup at the time) race I saw in person. I didn't know anything about racing, but was offered skybox seats at Charlotte & took them. I chose to pull for what I thought was the prettiest car. It was Darrell Waltrip's Tide car. He ended up winning the race! Was that luck or what?

:rotfl: WHAT a coincidence! Too bad you didn't have $$ on the race....

Sorry, you guys are feeling bad too. It sounds like all of you up north need to come on down & enjoy the sunshine. :sunny: We have an extra bedroom & a sofa bed. Everyone's welcome!

 On my way!!!

We did the birthday thing this weekend. My DS's birthday is Valentine's day. We had a small celebration with his girlfriend then. The big party was Saturday. How old is Bubba? (I'm guessing you're talking about a birthday party.) My baby turned 16.

Happy Belated to your son :goodvibes They do grow up quick...I'll bet you can remember when he was just 9? (Bubba's age as of last month)

Barb, you & Mac brought the wit to the Universal Board. We were a boring bunch, before you guys arrived.

nah....you just sayin' that :rolleyes1 mac's the witty one ;)

i most certainly would have if i could have.
went thru apple tech support to get back on line.
all showed internet was accessible but the wireless router could not connect.
i love apple tech. it doesn't matter how long it takes to solve the problem, they stayed with me for one hour and 55 minutes last night.

and, they called back to check on me.

found out one problem i had when they were testing at their end of my problem i was on a cordless phone. was told to turn on my cell and they would call back to do the test. for some reason, cordless phones create a problem in the testing stage.

i would have come back to turn out the lights last night but have a very sickie here and it is taking up a lot of my time.

i'll try better tonight.

you know, i am so addicted to the thread and internet, i was having a melt down over it.........
is there a ten step program to help me?

Sounds like some good tech support....were you speaking to someone in the USA, or did the call go overseas? You can usually tell by the 'accent' ;) My 'tech support' is my DH...does he count?

Sorry to have spread my germs to the House of Mac :flower3: Hope whoever is sick, isn't for long.....

Oh...and IF/WHEN you find that 10 step program, copy me on it :rolleyes1 ...you know my rep as a blabbermouth :rolleyes1

We're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge next Friday night. Is that what you mean?

i have never stayed there.
i am not as fond of the AK park as the others so i go the cheapo route for disney.

i'm sure you will have a lovely view and room there.
many people love the AK lodge.

Hey Mac...we need to help Janet with the details of Stay and Scream for HHN. I replied to her post so lets be good homies and help her with this. :thumbsup2

of course we will edumacate janet all about HHN.
we'll let her know when the tickets go on sale and how to get the best deal and what night to attend.
right behind you on that homie.

i don't know what to say about the adoption place.
check out other places and see if a doggie there finds you.
you can always go back to the first place now that you have the understanding in your favor.

Hey Homies!

Been trying to catch up, but I am SO far behind.....give me the golden globe for laziness :lmao: :lmao:

So COngrats to those who earned it, Feel Better for those who are sick, and :lmao: Good Luck for us all!!!

Hope to be a little more "in tune" this week :rolleyes1 But already tomorrow afternoon is out of the question - helping out in FBean's K class :scared:

Trip is a GO! well, don't listen to me but i always blamed taking the kids out of skool due to a death in the family in florida.

per the skool records, i had lost a great aunt, mother, cousin and gparent. i ran out of relatives one year when the oldest was in 8th grade.

then i remembered that my mom died and i had to go to florida to settle the date that was set by the courts. i put that in writing in january as i knew it would be impossible to get out of work and yanking the boys out of skool for the 4th year in a row.

that lie was probably the best i had to give.
the boys were so excited and were telling friends that they were going to florida for mothers day for a couple of weeks.

i always told them we would be going to florida.
i never mentioned a theme park.

and, when they were younger, i told them about the trip at the last minute except when they were older.

none of my relatives died during those periods but they have now.
i was bad.

I'm baaaaaack!

Boards weren't working earlier. Been home since 5ish. I'm sick, but it didn't start until last night. We had a GREAT trip and I'll tell you all about it as soon as I can recover. :goodvibes

welcome back home homie.
hope you feel better real soon.
being sick is not fun especially when you have to take care of kids.
