Hey Universal peeps! I haven't had time to drop in for a while - glad to see everyone is still here!

I'm going to Universal Spring Break with my DD's chorus group. But I heard that on top of the chorus festival there will be a cheer competition as well - guess things may be crowded! Oh well!

Hope you all have a great day!!

my youngest DS will be heading down for an academic games competition end of April too (without me:rolleyes1 ) if i had any $s laying about i'd be looking for a DING;)

barb - all better:wizard: ? will check out the RCL/Nick (gotta feeing i know where that is going-cool idea imo)

lori - just go the travelzoo website & sign up the newsletter (i already deleted last weeks); i'd post the link-don't think we're allowed.

allison - never had "good" mexican food (tried taco bell once - what is that stuff they call meat in the tacos:scared: ); wasn't too fond of chi-chi's either. Have tried @ chillis & red lobster a chicken dish (i can't remember the name); in a lime marinade with "pico de gallo?" not sure if that's the dryish salsa mixture or the crunchy things that look like pieces of tortillas - very good though...kwim?

a super target has opened in our area (wonder if that means it has groceries?)...going to check it out today; maybe even drag DS - don't think he's been in a grocery store for at least a year;)

By the way...you guys hear the Royal Caribbean cruise line and Nickelodeon have teamed up?

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/ourCo...zSW2AqpE:12hdhu87a?prDate=01-28-2008&prCode=A

only a one shot deal on their newest ship this summer; wonder if it'll be a permanent thing

could you imagine having booked it (expecting to be able to find a romantic escape-since lots of skools bells have already rung for the new year by then) and not knowing it'll be overrun with "charactars":rotfl:

One more day!!!

Anyone have any requests for when I am down there?

SNOW DAY!!!

Well, we got another batch of the layers of ice first changing over to 8 inches of snow yesterday. Called school by bedtime, which is definitely unusual. But they still don't have the side roads plowed at all, and I can't imagine they would have been able to get the school parking lots, etc., plowed. I'm heading off to work in a bit here and hoping the main roads/freeways are okay. On the plus side - no activities thisevening so I won't be running to percussion ensemble, math club, piano, and soccer! Well, possibly piano if the roads are okay, but the rest are school functions!

Talked to mom a bit last night for whoever was asking about Nick hotel (was it Wendy or Mary?). She said they thought it was "adequate". They had a two bedroom suite, plus she was on a rollaway. The kids evidently really enjoyed it, especially the characters, the pool area, and the daily "slime time" where anyone who wanted could get slimed. But she said it definitely had no frills in the rooms. My brother is the type of person who normally stays at the Boardwalk, and they felt this in no way compared to that. I got the impression it was really loud and chaotic - so more on scale with the All Star Resorts, but with a nicer water park.

This almost happened to us when DH and I booked our 15th anniversary cruise in 2003. Were looking at Royal Caribbean and had actually held a cabin on one of the ships for the week we had available to go. Then I was reading on cruise critic and found out that it was a "Harley" week - more than 2/3 of the ship was group bookings for Harley Davidson owners with activities, etc. geared towards that. For some reason, we opted to switch over to Princess that week instead! :confused3 ;)

I was only glad that I'd found out before it was too late, rather than on the ship! Nothing against Harley owners, but I wouldn't want to be on a ship with any group that large. Although when my mom and I sailed on Princess in 2004, we were with a group of about 500 Red Hatters (over 50 women). But my mom really enjoyed meeting them and ended up becoming active in her local Red Hat Society after she returned home as a result!

Morning all hope everyone is having a good start to thier day

Hey Tammy! Welcome to the loonie house! :rolleyes1 I'll mentor you....just jump right in. What you need to know?

Thanks for the offer. :flower3: I'm afraid you'll be ready to call in reinforcements soon.

Here's my take on THE RACE.

Watched the last 10 laps as hubby and son were watching. At this time, my guy Biffle was #2. I was so excited - as I had never heard of him. Anyhoo, he finished #10.

Still don't understand how the "teams" work and such.

But I'm #10. I'll take it.

:) Jennifer

Too funny! I rarely watch racing now. They usually conflict with bball games. I did watch a bit of it yesterday.

Your story reminded of the 1st Nascar (Winston Cup at the time) race I saw in person. I didn't know anything about racing, but was offered skybox seats at Charlotte & took them. I chose to pull for what I thought was the prettiest car. It was Darrell Waltrip's Tide car. He ended up winning the race! Was that luck or what?

Nah...we had Papa John pizza left over from Bubba's party last week....speaking of  I never did load those pix, did I? :headache: Well....with everyone so sick for the past week....no wonder i forgot.... :headache: I'll get on that.....

Sorry, you guys are feeling bad too. It sounds like all of you up north need to come on down & enjoy the sunshine. :sunny: We have an extra bedroom & a sofa bed. Everyone's welcome!

We did the birthday thing this weekend. My DS's birthday is Valentine's day. We had a small celebration with his girlfriend then. The big party was Saturday. How old is Bubba? (I'm guessing you're talking about a birthday party.) My baby turned 16.

Just jump on in. The wit just kinda comes along hanging with this great group!

Good to know. Hopefully, I'll learn something hanging out with you guys.

WAIT!? We 'witty'? :confused3

Barb, you & Mac brought the wit to the Universal Board. We were a boring bunch, before you guys arrived.

Not yet. DH says the sun is shining....:rotfl2:

He's had too much....

Ya think? :rotfl2:

I've been hearing about this too. . . there are some type of pad things you can place on the bottom of your feet and it is supposed to achieve the same thing. . .I know I saw something about this and there was some kind of parasite on the white gauze type pad. . . .eeeewwwwwww is right. . . but I don't know the name of the product or anything. Supposedly you put a new pad on every day until they no longer have anything on them. . .several days later. I don't think I could sit still for an hour with my feet in water, but I could handle putting something on my feet and walking around.

if you watch late night tv, you will see the advertisement for those pads.
it's on all the time.
you place the pad on the sole of your feet when you go to bed.
wake up in the morning and remove the pad. do it for 3 nights straight and see how the change is.
i would google it before i bought into that product.

Just stopping in to say good night! Hope Mac stops by to turn the lights out!

i most certainly would have if i could have.
went thru apple tech support to get back on line.
all showed internet was accessible but the wireless router could not connect.
i love apple tech. it doesn't matter how long it takes to solve the problem, they stayed with me for one hour and 55 minutes last night.

and, they called back to check on me.

found out one problem i had when they were testing at their end of my problem i was on a cordless phone. was told to turn on my cell and they would call back to do the test. for some reason, cordless phones create a problem in the testing stage.

i would have come back to turn out the lights last night but have a very sickie here and it is taking up a lot of my time.

i'll try better tonight.

you know, i am so addicted to the thread and internet, i was having a melt down over it.........
is there a ten step program to help me?

Just stopping by to say good night or is it morning and been trying to get an internet connection and couldn't figure it out until awhile ago and that our puppy chewed the ubs cable and had pulled it behind the computer desk and didn't see it until I started pulling wires and found it duh I can be silly sometime :lmao: guess its back to the old drawing board training this dog and not only is he starting to costing me money for computer stuff these allergies are still bugging me like crazy.
Just wonder whats going to get me first the dog or the computer:lmao: :rotfl:

bad doggie, bad doggie............
glad you found the problem and fixed it st lawrence!

Anyone interested in becoming my mentor? I'm afraid I'm not witty enough for this elite group! :snooty:

Welcome! - my oldest is turning 16 on March 2nd - just a couple of weeks! I'm guessing I'll be sad too when it's my baby! Now I'm just looking forward to someone else being able to help with the driving! (Although not the quadrupled car insurance rates!).

Speaking of Matt, he and his girlfriend celebrated their big ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY yesterday! Woo hoo! She got him a nice necklace and an Aeropostale dress shirt. And hey, with the snow day, he gets to spend the whole day with her today - what an anniversary present!

Speaking of snow - I know someone asked why the plow drivers were out of overtime and the city out of salt. According to today's paper, last year at this time we had had a total of 16 inches of snow for the winter. This year we've have 71 inches! Guess that might help to explain it! Said we've had more this winter than the last two combined! I got some more good pics of the (now well taller than my 6'1" son) snowbanks to post for you guys sometime!

Everyone have a great day!

you won't believe the withdrawal i was going thru not being able to contact the homies here.

i felt like an orphan this weekend..........

so many people posted about what was going on with them and i think it would take me an hour to address all individual.
considered yourselves hugged/:hug: by me.

i left the porch light on this weekend..........

i got my ressie for HRH for october set up.
now i need to do the disney ressie and plane and car service.

until then, i will live thru all of you going on your trips prior to me.

i still haven't gotten around to doing my trippie from 07 or posting the pics.
still thinking about doing that and still thinking about getting my christmas cards out soon.

will it count for 08 now if i send them soon?
or does it go on the record for the 07 christmas?

I dont think i would stay there- it is far out on the bus loop.

We're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge next Friday night. Is that what you mean?

Hey Mac...we need to help Janet with the details of Stay and Scream for HHN. I replied to her post so lets be good homies and help her with this. :thumbsup2

Now....here's an update on the pet situation:

I spoke to the Senior Operations Manager on Friday afternoon about this whole situation. He explained to me the counselor was only doing his job and there must have been a misunderstanding somewhere. The counselor told the SOM that I said the dog would be outside alone during the day which was not the case at all. I explained that it was my opinion the counselor heard me say "outside" and decided right then and there to say no but let me go through the whole process before turning me down. I told him I was unaware of their policies and expressed my concern that most people who come in probably have no idea letting the dog outside is a no-no. I questioned the number of adoptions through that shelter if they were treating others the same way.

Anyway...the SOM told me I was welcome to come back and adopt one of their animals. After dealing with this all last week, I'm kinda put off from going back down there again. I'm going to look at pet rescues in the area and try to find one that way.
