What a day! Glad it's over.....

Make-up soccer game in the morning AFTER we drive 45 minutes to get there Some of the 'better' guys won't be there, so I'm guessing it won't go well


Penny....Eagles will lose....almost guarantee it Season is a wash...root for the Fly boys

Rose....what a trip! I think I would have found my way in for a visit anyway...already being there and all!

Marcie....sounds like the play was a success....no wonder practices were so long...the play is almost as long! Look forward to whatever pix you can show.....

Oh, and did I mention we found out about our indoor soccer? Well, I don't think I did, but let me enlighten. His fall soccer coach has this same team of boys up thru the ranks....meaning, next fall, they'll be together, and the next fall, etc....Until they are 13, then they go to a different league. Well, when his coach approached us with the indoor offer, he told us games were Mondays at 6 or 7pm. So, most of the team signed up, and 1 guy is waiting for someone to bail to be able to join (can only roster 15 boys). Well....coach emailed us a link for the schedule. The first and last games are Mondays, with the first at 6 and the last at 5:10. All the rest of the games are 5:10pm on Thursdays....uh.... I asked his coach about it this morning at the soccer game, and he was like " that won't work!" (As he works till 5 himself!) And, no, it doesn't. Bubba has MasterClub karate class at 5:45pm on Thursdays....a class he really needs to be at. So, not sure what is going on, but if I would have known we'd be stuck at 5:10 on Thursdays, would not have joined! And the arena is the other side of Reading (for Mike: Body Zone) and the traffic from here to there is all major highway (going around Reading) and will be a nightmare. Like DH put it, he'd get home from work, walk right back out the door, eat dinner on the way (while I drive) and we'd STILL be late! We'll see how it pans out......

Lori....loved the BBB pix..... A day I'm sure she'll always remember. Have I mentioned how glad I am to have a boy? Do they give them something special (badge or pin?) to indicate it's their birthday? I mean, I know you can go to GS and get a "sticker" indicating your birthday....but, does the BBB do something special for birthday gals?

I've worked with him for over 20 years and both of them said Naples would lose. Well the Golden Eagles represented the State in fine form allowing only 12 points. Something to be said for the speed of the South over the brawn of the North.

DH and DS15 are on their way home from the Michigan/Wisconsin game (here in Wisconsin). Not a good day to be a Michigan fan there!

Hi all-
Went to visit Grandma today at the hospital, with my mom. Grandma is doing better. It sounds like Grandma is going to be discharged tomorrow afternoon and go back to the nursing home. She was pretty sleepy when my mom and I got there. They had her up in the chair this morning for breakfast. Grandma tires easily, so she was sleeping when I was there this afternoon.
I could understand being sleepy at 92 yrs old, who wouldn't be?

Doing much better emotionally with the job interview fiasco for DH a few days ago. I guess that's how life is with job hunting, at least here in the Chicago area.

DH, I, Chrissy, and Matthew met up with my mom, aunt and uncle for dinner last night at Applebees. It was fun! My aunt was a little on the punchy side, as she was going on 2 hrs of sleep the whole day. Made things fun
My aunt and uncle drove back home to Missouri this morning.

Howevever, the boys are jumping on my bed behind me... stark naked... with plastic spoons in thier hands. Joshua had red spoons and Daniel has blue. I think they are having a battle, but I'm too tired to care.

I'm pretty sure I'm not imagining it. Why would I dream up naked sons bouncing on my bed with plastic spoons in their hands?

I hope the sugar/excitement crash comes soon.

We saw the last 60 laps of the race. It was painful. Brad is still holding out hope, but it looks like a done deal to me. Jimmie Johnson would pretty much have to DNF the last race and Jeff Gordon would have to win for Johnson to get knocked out of first place. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but... not likely.

Okay...who saw my Eagles? What the heck??? Trailed the WHOLE game and come back to WIN with under 2 minutes to go??? Eh, I'll take it!

Well....our game went a lot better than i thought it would today. We only had 2 subs, so the boys were runnin' like crazy....and the other team was FAST! However, I can see why they are undefeated this season...they have Nazi Coach! I sat next to our Coach's wife at the game, and she couldn't believe his behavior! She actually yelled: "This isn't the world cup!" (get 'em Mrs. Coach!) So, he was obnoxious and even moreso when we scored the first goal. Then, at the beginning of the second half, they scored 2 right away...and then a third a bit later.
Now, let me say the coach had me & DH absolutely FREAKING OUT!!! He put Bubba in GOAL for the second half!!! Now, I would be a bit more comfortable with this, HAD HE PRACTICED IT AT SOME POINT!!!! ...but, he hasn't. But, he did real well....no 'spectacular' saves to make, but he did make some and lemme say, my boy can punt (do they "punt" in soccer?) the ball to midfield! (Mom brag ) We were truly impressed with how well he did.
So, after the game (which we lost 3-2), a few of us were at the car talking about the game/other team. Long story short, coach told us to practice the goalie thing w/ Bubba, cuz he is gonna use him in the indoor league (IF the schedule ever gets straightened out!) ...uh...okay..... He said he was impressed with the job he did and wants to 'encourage' him in that position....
Oh, and the other team we played today...undefeated for the season (with THAT coach, I can see why....he's worse than the parents!) Anyhow, after the game, the PARENTS all stood on the field and made 2 lines facing each other. Then they put their arms up to form a "tunnel" for the kids (AND THE COACH TOO!) to run under/thru! Now, THAT is bad sportsmanship on the parents part...and when we saw the coach run thru...just pathetic..... (I'm sure some of us got dirty looks from them when they realized we were laughing AT them....)
Anyhow.....probably be buying goalie jersey and gloves for the boy tomorrow....here's hoping the 'goalie' thing works out.....

Other than the game today, quiet day of laundry and food shopping....gotta get the last load out now, before Desperate Housewives starts.....

howdy to all, trying to catch up. We're finishing painting the LR today. Actually did a walll during the Steeler game yesterday -how they won is beyond me...Patriots are going to crush us.

I've got a stack of presents in the DR since before Halloween i've got to wrap before thanksgiving...thinking of throwing them in gift bags with tissue @ this point & stapeling shut.

"Dog" is one of my secret vices (ala a train wreck). I am fascinated by his hair/extensions/beads over a big old bald spot (his wife Beth sports some interesting outfits too). Of course, we can't get thru the week without The Star magazine

barb - problem with organized youth sports is many parents are too invested in it IMO; instead of it just being a instruction endeavour-it's ramped up to the point where ma & pa are talking athletic scholarship opportunities when their kids are in kidnergarten/reliving their failed youth (esp. the parent coaches) . I've seen many kiddies burn out & decide the sport isn't fun-moreso work well before they hit middle school due to pushy parents . that said, youngest one announced he is trying out for varsity basketball
