Hi all-
Sorry I haven't been here in days, so I'm not even going to try to catch up :faint:
Glad all of you liked the pics I had put up a few days ago. The Galena, Il. pics from the wedding DH and I went to last month.

Welcome back, Mac! :cool1: :yay:
Glad you got home ok, even if you were delayed.
You are going to be home awhile now, right?? I know you got to work and all that, just want to make sure you aren't taking off anywhere else ;)
Any pics from your DC/ Williamsburg trip? Did you meet any DISers or have a meet with any DISers there?

Hope everyone is doing well. I guess some sicknesses going around? :wizard: :wizard: to all the peeps that are sick.

Just want to say hi to all, as I can't address everyone at this time.
Got my time of the month, so pretty tired ,etc. Had to run to Target earlier for some female stuff and other stuff I had to buy.
Monday was busy for me, as I had to take Matthew out of school for 2 hrs for a speech evaluation for Social Security disability determination.

Wish I had a laptop. It would be alot easier for me to post and catch up with everyone. I'm hoping Santa will come thru for me this yr, as I've been asking Santa for a few yrs now for a laptop :rolleyes1
Sharing 1 computer for the 4 of us is getting a little too much for me :scared:

Re: DH's job situation. Did I tell you guys that one of the owners from his old job was thinking of hiring DH back? The owner didn't call, just the controller( senior accountant)- last Friday. DH told him if this new job doesn't work out, he might consider going back. It's a long story that he doesn't want to go back there to the old job. Also another recruiter called here yest and he called DH on the cell. DH has an interview with this recruiter on Sat. DH is still at the job he has now, still temp. So I guess we'll see what happens in the next few days.

Ok, gotta run as the bus is coming really soon.
Have a good day everyone.

I'm here and I've been reading, but things are hectic and... oh, jiminy crickets... you guys know what it's like...

My mom is in a *mood* today. Let's leave it at that. :rolleyes1

We have been playing buy/return the DVD/VCR combo for the past 2 days and round 3 starts tonight when Brad gets off work. With Mom in a mood, I'm sure we'll be dragging the poor kids AGAIN to play swap the machine... and look for Brad some shoes... didn't get the little guys into bed until 9:30 last night. Maybe Mom will take pity on them.

I have to take Joshua to the doctor tomorrow after school. Weird stuff. He's been complaining of "feeling tingly", then he falls down. He doesn't actually pass out, but for about 5-10 seconds, he just lays there. Maybe he has low iron like Mommy? We'll see. :confused3

Somewhere in the next 2 days, I have to grocery shop to stock the house for the weekend (in laws watching the kids while we go to the races)... clean the house... do the bookkeeping... and maintain my sanity...

Wish me luck!

Oh, and a Carol update. She had her "off week" checkup on Monday and all her bloodwork numbers look good. Her hair started falling out yesterday and is pretty much all gone now. I haven't seen her because of my "tickle" that I am doctoring... I can't risk exposing her to any germs. She starts the Yuck (that would be chemo) again on Monday. She is tired and wants it all over (who wouldn't), but is hanging in there. Thanks for all of your thoughts, concerns and wishes. :flower3:

Todd - just like with Mike, I am hoping the weather cools off for you soon, without too much rain! Thought we were going to have to send out the search party for you!!!
LOL...I've been busy with house stuff and haven't been online much due to internet issues.

It's raining a bit now but it's a lot cooler than this morning and I should be able to open the windows tonight. :woohoo:

This weekend looks GREAT! :cool1:

With all the visits we have had we finally got to see a shuttle launch this summer. It was way cool to see! :thumbsup2

I hope your temps cool off soon. Ours finally did on Sunday. Now I just hope they don't shoot back up.
Yeah...I hope so too! :teeth:

Mike - enjoyed your pics of the launch. We were so close to seeing one, when we were in Florida in 2006, but they cancelled it due to weather and we missed it.

Gemma - cool costume and GO REDS!!!!

Rose - is your husband an accountant - I didn't read all the backpages, so not sure what type of job he's looking for.

I have been to the ER with Cbean more times than I care to count, but not because of accidents, because of her asthma
Tracie - Just to let you know, I spent many falls in the ER for asthma in junior high/high school. After high school, I only had 3 trips to the ER for asthma in 25 years.

Tricia - :grouphug:   Warm thoughts to you and Carol. Our family experienced the chemo/radiation treatments.

Weather Update - Cold and rainy here in WV. Today was the first day I had to get my spring/fall dresscoat out for work. It's a long time till summer.:)

The reds lost....I am not amused!! We played terribly!! It ended up being 2-1...so upset! And the manager only brought my sex god (Crouch) onto the pitch in the last 10 mins of the game!! Come on Rafa! Get it sorted!!

Hey guys....just flyin' by....

So, I'm cleaning up after dinner, waiting for "the call" or "the email" from coach that soccer practice is cancelled tonight..... :sad2: no. So, the boys were there for about 40 minutes and coach called it...it just started raining heavier and heavier and it was damp and cold... just not good. I was moanin' the whole time how much I love my son to sit outside in those conditions :rotfl: Sitting with a heavy coat, blanket on my lap WITH an umbrella is NOT my idea of a 'fun' evening...however, I will do whatever I have to do to support and be there for Bubba....so, Todd....I'd gladly trade you weather in a heartbeat about now :rolleyes1

So, I'm home ketchuping from today.....

Gemma...sorry your team lost, but your costume is hot!!! You are gonna look awesome in it! :thumbsup2 Sorry to hear about your rent money....the check wasn't cashed was it? Can you stop payment on it? Is there a way to send it registered mail or get a receipt for delivery? (Do they even have that where you are?)

Janet...didja get yer mug?? I hate it when I break something that's my "favorite" and have a hard time replacing it :headache:

Mike...I LOVED your shuttle pix!! Lucky you....I'm jealous!!! You couldn't have planned that any better.... Been loving the daily reports....need more pix tho :rolleyes1 Have a fab time...and enjoy the heat, cuz it's barely in the 60's and rainy here at home :guilty:

Tracie...what a sad FBean story.... glad he was okay, but I can understand how scary that must have been!

Glad you're back Raven....have a good trip (besides the "forces" didn't want you to return home:laughing: ) Look forward to trippies and pictures....and don't worry about the 'dumb move' going to work tomorrow....we've all done that! (Besides you thought you'd be home in plenty of time to get some rest :confused3 )

Rose....I would have DH wait on going back to the people who let him go! What nerve! OR, I would demand quite the pay increase ;) I would be afraid they would pull the same stunt again down the road...but, with all the "other opportunities" on the table...ball just might be in his court :thumbsup2 Wish him luck....and remind him of your gift request to Santa....(laptops are quite handy!)

Jennifer...we have had the cool, rainy, damp day today too. Thought I was actually getting up too early cuz it was SO dark out! Turns out, absolutely NO sunshine today...at all! A good day to stay snuggled up in bed at home!

I don't think anyone plays Trivial Pursuit anymore....you haveta be smart to play and win that game....I was always kinda dumb at it  I know I'm busy...but I might be able to find time for a game (on the weekend) just maybe not THAT particular game..... Yes, it's busy here, but life is worth it!!! (Oh, and I come to find out, indoor soccer starts the week after outdoor is over....no break!)

(Altho, I think TPing someone's house would be fun....whose shall we do??? Howdy Doody's???? :rolleyes1 )

Jodie....why are you guys liable for that gas bill?? I realize the meter is on YOUR house, but it's THEIR meter??? I think I'd be having a word or two with them about that.... Something about that is just not right! And....where's wet day??? popcorn::

Glad to hear Carol has a 'breather' Tricia....she deserves it! Not fun looking forward to the next round, but each day is a step closer to it being over! I hope everything is okay with Joshua, strange symptoms? :confused3 But, luckily at his age, kids are brutally honest and won't hold anything back. Busy yourself this week and get all done that you need to...this weekend will be your relaxing reward! You & Brad will have a great time! (Remember "grown-up time"? :rotfl: )

Guess that catches me up....for the most part....

HI to all I didn't address personally......:wave2:

Rose - is your husband an accountant - I didn't read all the backpages, so not sure what type of job he's looking for.
Sorry, forgot to say in any of my posts. His job title is Staff Accountant. At his previous job, he was a staff and senior accountant for a small mortgage co. He became senior accountant for 2 yrs after alot of people got laid off about 2 yrs ago. THen DH got laid off at the end of June of this yr w/ no severence pay whatsoever. He is working as a temp, supposed to go permanent soon, not sure how soon yet. I guess the co. he is working at, the CEO is very perfectionistic, so right now, we have no clue when DH is going permanent. Been working temp there for a little over 2 months now. The recruiter from Accountemps that got him this job says he should be offered the perm position soon. DH doesn't have a bachelors degree. He has his associates degree in accounting, but he has 20 yrs experience in accounting.
I see you are a CPA, according to your screen name? :)
Thanks for asking :)
It's been a big waiting game, when is DH exactly going permanent? Driving me crazy waiting and waiting.

Tricia- I hope all goes well with Joshua's Dr. appt tomorrow. Hope it isn't anything too serious  :wizard:
 :wizard: for Carol.

Barb- sorry about the soccer today and the yucky conditions :sad2: :guilty:
Glad you are in the house now :)
Yeah, if my DH went back to the old job, they probably decrease his pay more than likely, so he doesn't want to go back, among other things at his old job.

Mike- really liked the shuttle pics :thumbsup2

Gemma-sorry about your team didn't do well, maybe next time :)

Hi to everyone else I didn't get to address.

I hope to be back a little tomorrow.

Gotta go and eat dinner now.

i'm like totally lost here.

no cliff notes emailed to me............no pm's of the cliff notes either.....

i have no idea what we are talking about.
now i am forced to go back and read all the pages i missed......

rose, i went to williamsburg, yorktown and jamestowne.
it was a celebration week at yorktown this past weekend.

mr mac was at a sec annual meeting.
i bought a plane ticket, got a room and rental car then called him to tell him i was coming out the next day after his conference was over.

told him we were going to explore the revolutionary war for 5 days.
his favorite is the civil war but he likes the rw also.

we are members of the Chicago Round Table. it's an organization all over the country that dwells on civil war only. monthly meetings with key note speakers on different expertise.

Love the new avatar Gemma!

I'm home from the final DVD/VCR swap. It is hooked up and working... playing the Care Bears Journey to Joke-A-Lot (heaven help me) as I'm typing. I'm sure there will be many complaints when I yell bedtime in a few minutes.

Brad has new shoes... exactly like his old shoes... so he is happy. We won't get into Brad and shopping tonight. I just don't have the energy to do that subject justice.

Before I round up the young'uns, I'll leave you with this story. On the way to the mall tonight, Brad looks over at me and says, "You won't believe what your mother said to me this morning."

He's right. With my mother, it could be anything. Already mentally cringing, I asked, "Okay, what did she say to you."

"Well, you were in the bathroom getting ready to take Joshua to school and I was eating my bowl of cereal. She came in to get a cup of coffee and started chatting about taking Joshua to the doctor. Then she started talking about you being anemic. She looked right at me and said that the reason why you are anemic is because you have a heavy menstrual flow and that you probably inherited it from her."

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

He looked at me and said, "I completely and utterly did NOT need to know that."

I said, "There are just some things you can't go back and un-hear. I am SO sorry."

Of course, I was laughing the whole time, so that might have ruined the apology... :lmao:

i did read about gemma's reds and replied to that post.

goodness sakes, i probably missed a lot of good stuff by not reading back.

you all say just jump in and start chatting instead of going back to the last read page.

i tried.
can't do it that way.

have to read all the pages..........i will return

Hehe...check out my new avatar

:lmao: it's great! love it!

Sorry mac...didn't know YOUR vacation entailed homework for the rest of us :confused3

Rose - Great to see you. Hope things work out with DH's job soon.

Mac - It will take forever to catch up. My last unplanned absence I finally just gave up. I would have never had the time to post if I had tried to go back and reply to all I missed (and it was just a couple of days)!

Your last trip sounds like it was great. I really need to get the kids up there to learn about our Country's history. Would love to hear more about it.

Barb - Those kind of practices really suck. I just don't get coaches that think that is a good idea. Glad you are back home and warm now.

Jodie - I agree with Barb. Why are you responsible for their meter?

Gemma - Love the new avatar. Sorry about your Reds.

Tricia - I hope everything is okay with Joshua. I can't wait to hear all about the race!!! Oh and aren't mothers just wonderful! Does she live with you or just nearby?

I took Ally to a pumpkin patch this evening. It was really a lot of fun. There was a hay maze, a corn maze, a hay ride, petting zoo, and we each got to pick a pumpin to take home. Of course I did not have my camera with me so there are no pics to show.

i'm back and read what i missed the last 5 days.

gemma, i hope your mum will be able to help you with the rent money.

gee, if i lived closer i would have a rummage sale and bake sale to help you out.

i have a lot of crap.
always willing to help a homie out.

rose, good wishes for your hubby's future job.
it's a tough spot he is in. hopefully the right job will land in his lap soon.

bubba's mom, where have you been?
have you been slacking here..........i thought i would come back to 15 pages to catch up on. looks like it has been quiet here.

tricia, i hope carol has a smooth week with her treatment.
cancer is such an ugly word. we had it happen in our family too.
i know where you're coming from.

keisha, hey homie
lori, " "
and all the other homies.

todd, it's about time you came back to post. next time bring a note from your mother to excuse your absence.......

and tlinus the bean lady and our okie, i caught the desi too......

snap.
i have to work tomorrow.
up at 6 and out the door at 7:05 in the morning.:sad2:

Mom is living with us for the forseeable future. She was living with Carol, but has decided that she is "in the way" over there and is here instead. :confused3

I hope everything is okay with Joshua too. Could be anything. Low iron... blood sugar... blood pressure... inner ear... who knows?
His class field trip to the pumpkin farm got cancelled today because of rain. I guess we'll be making it up to him with a trip to the local farm in a few days.

i'm back and read what i missed the last 5 days.

Welcome back Mac!

You are a dedicated homie to read 5 days worth of chatter.

Good luck at work tomorrow. I would say have fun, but... well... let's just hope for the best, shall we?

i thought you had cows at your place.
you could have him help cow herd instead of a farm trip.....

hope all goes fine with joshua.
everything you are going through, the last thing you need to worry about is a health problem with your first boy baby.

Hey homies!

It's been very busy around here...work and school and football and a little fun here and there.....DS10's team is undefeated and we have 2 games left to play! DS13's team isn't doing that great and he's been out of more games than he's been in (dehydration, sore muscles, ear infections, etc...) DS10 is all pumped up on football and says he's going to play for the Hogs (Arkansas Razorbacks for those of you who don't know the Hogs...) The Hogs could use some help after the season they've had!!!! It has suddenly turned cold and wet down here in southwest Arkansas. We'd love some sunshine and warm weather!!! Not much work going on on the house lately...DH doesn't seem to get much time off from work and we tend to like to do other things when he is off! I won tickets to a nearby amusement park for their Halloween event and we went Saturday evening after DS10's ball game that was won by a forfeit...the other team only had 6 players to show up...(I think they were afraid!:scared1: )

I tried to read a little here and there and by the time I would get near caught up, it would be so late that I wouldn't post, so please forgive me for I will never "KETCHUP"!!!

Mac, I did see the pics from your trip that you posted. Thanks for posting those! It's so nice to put a face with a name and you always talked about yourself as being "old"....you sure look young!!!! It looked and sounded like you had a good time, with the exception of the Haunted Mansion incident! I need cliff notes too, so if you get some, forward them to me!!!

Penny, thank you for posting your pics too! I love to see all the homies around here. I knew you were young from some of the stuff you had said before.

Hey Lori! I saw where you asked about me. It's so nice to be missed! You're a real pal!

Jodie, did you and Mac have a margarita?

Hey Barb, Tracie, Rose, Gemma, Janet, Sharon, Katie, Tricia, Marcie!!! (who did I forget?) If I forgot anyone, I'm sorry..you know I luvs ya!
