mike i absolutely and totally love your hair !!
i made my boys were their hair long when they were younger. i begged 2 of them to color their hair blue when they were in high school. i think that was the kewlest color for hair. yes, i love marge simpson

when you meet wolf at the meet saturday, you'll see his hair is longer than yours. he wears it pulled back in a tail.
my youngest got his hair cut when he was 12. he had a tail to his waist.
he hated it, i loved it.....

Morning all!!

Sorry for not posting yesterday......I have to say mac, you look absolutely fantastic!! Conrats on 40 lbs in 3 months!! I had no clue you lost that much - excellent job!!!

Good morning, everyone, and welcome, funster! Don't try to catch up. Just join in!

Happy Birthday to FBean!

Tricia, I hope Carol is doing better at home. My heart ached knowing that they sent her home in so much traffic when she was not well to begin with. There is certainly nothing worse than knowing you're close to home, but can't get there. :(

Here is a picture of my family ....

47b7db33b3127cce83a255338ab700000026108Abt2jRk4bt1

That's my cousin Tim, his wife Meri, me, my sister Erin, and hubby Mike. :)

Yes, beer drinking on vacation runs in the family :rolleyes1 That was all of us at the ESPN club on the Boardwalk. I won't get into the Jellyrolls pics that were many pitchers later .....

Anyway, let's talk about something we can all relate to ... sharing your bed with your bedmate. Git yur minds out of the gutters! I am talking literally sleeping. Not figuratively sleeping. My bedmate (God love him) likes to sleep diagonally, so that I get a triangle of space on the bed. He also likes to sleep with no less than 6 pillows, further inhibiting my space. He's a blanket hog and a restless sleeper. I have suffered more than one elbow to the head while sleeping. One time, I woke up with his entire arm over my throat. Sometimes when he's had a really long day, he grinds his teeth. This is my personal favorite as it sounds like he's crunching on marbles. Gross. Despite all these things, I still love him and we'll be married forever, mainly because we work separate shifts and rarely sleep at the same time! ;)

Tracie, I miss your siggie too! I didn't think it was that big. Wow, they really did cut down, didn't they?! I have started my trippie already. I don't know how I'm going to get through 8 days though.

Mike, I like your hair too! I love longer hair and wish Mike would grow his out a bit.

Where are everyone else's pics? I am enjoying them! :goodvibes

WOO HOO!!! :cool1:

Somebody new and they are from GEORGIA!!! :yay:

I'm so excited!!! :woohoo:

Okay, I excite easily. :rolleyes1

So, pull up a chair and stay awhile. Where in the state are you? I'm finally getting some rain here in my little corner. I'd almost forgotten what it looks like!

Well, you must admit that our group leans heavily toward the northeast. Not that there's anything wrong with that (to quote Seinfeld), but it is exciting to see someone from my neck 'o the woods. :)

Do you guys really want to see MORE pictures of me? Haven't you seen enough? I'll have a mini trippie after we go to the races Oct 27-28... but if you need something to hold you until then, here's a recent shot of me and the boys from "Family Reading Night" at Joshua's school (you'll remember that was a thinly veiled excuse for Book Fair).

Ugh. I need a haircut.

well i do ........bring them on tricia, more pics for us to see...woo hoo

seinfeld came to mind when i was thinking of a name for the thread.
not like there is something wrong with that...

come to think of it, there are a lot of NE homies here on this thread.

am i the only midwest homie here?
i think the "okie" lori would be closest to me distance wise.

WAIT..............

almost forgot marcie up in greenbay.
yea, she is a midwestern transplant also.

me, born and raised in the arm pit of the usa.
st louis area...

then moved north

I think the closest to me is Melissa (NashvilleTrio), but haven't seen her on the boards lately. Next would be the guys in Orlando I guess?

HI all!

Sorry, having a hard time catching up, as I haven't been on much lately.
Have alot on my plate the last couple of days :scared:

Enjoyed all the pics :thumbsup2 Sorry, don't have much time to comment on all the pics, just really like them all! Thanks for posting the pics, you guys!
I did recognize Mac right away in her pics, as I met her last Dec, for a Chicago DISer mini-meet at the blue restaurant she adores  . You look great, Mac :thumbsup2 I can tell you lost weight since I saw you last, congrats :cool1:
Mac, you and I and my family will need to meet again sometime soon!
I can't make the Oct. 27 Great America meet with Marcie, tho I wasn't invited :rolleyes1 DH and I have to go to a health care meeting that day, for DH's dad, pretty important meeting to attend, about FIL.

Mac- enjoy your mini-trip! :thumbsup2
Is everything ok at home? Or is this a getaway weekend with your DH?

tlinus-Happy birthday to Fbean! :bday: :cake:
Is it ok to say, I never heard of kids being called "beans" before. This is a first to me, when I joined this thread. I guess I'm very out of the loop
on the "bean" stuff :sad2:

Funster- Welcome to our thread!

Welcome to anyone else that's new!
Happy Birthday to anyone else I missed!

My dad is doing a little better. I guess his chemo treatment isn't going to be til January, as far as I know. Thank you all, for your concern and thoughts and prayers. :goodvibes

Team meetings at school went fairly well yest.
I have been stalked lately by the Social Security Disability people from our state capital- in Springfield,IL. I re-applied Chrissy and applied Matthew
over the summer, for disability benefits. Now the adjudicator my kids are assigned to is stalking me for more info and all these extra doctor appts I HAVE to take hte kids to, etc. :sad2: These people are driving me nuts! :headache:

What else is going on.... Oh, ok, mommy brag... do any of you get Nick Magazine? In hte November issue, Matthew had his quote published from the Say What caption! :cool1: :yay: Say What is a funny picture that has the empty caption and you fill in hte caption and mail it in. Well Matthew's caption got picked and published  . Just found out when we got our Nick mag a couple of days ago! It's not much, but Matthew is thrilled! Oh, it's on page 74 of the November issue of Nick
mag.

Ok, that's enough from me.

Have a good day everyone!

Hey Mac, it's so nice to see a picture of you!

I pictured you as having short, brown hair for some reason! Obviously I was way off the mark! :rotfl:

Good evening threaders!

need your opinion.....okay , I will admit it....I like crocs...

so....I just happened to go over to Dick's tonight and happened to get another pair......brown and put on orange straps

so..........I am addicted, there I said it....so I have umpteen pairs! so I only have two feet!
well, somedays they both feel like dopeys....:rolleyes1

am i a croc freak? or a typical girl's gotta have her shoes
kinda person????????????

Uh oh Mac - you forgot Rose too! Now you're really in trouble! Rose, I guess I knew you'd mentioned Chicago before but didn't realize you were from the area (yeah, it takes a lot for things to sink in here!). Sorry you can't join us - I'd love to tip the scales towards the non-teenaged-crowd!

I also find it funny how most of you don't look ANYTHING like I'd imagine you to! I know you don't have that problem with me since you've seen probably a THOUSAND pics of me or so!

In case you've forgotten though, I just received a package from my mom and she included some old stuff of mine, including a cadet pic. So here's me, looking all serious in my senior class pic back in 1988:

Cadetme.jpg

Marci- If you had pictured me as a beautiful, thin, model-quality kind of a girl, well, thanks for the good thoughts..
:goodvibes
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
but if you pictured me as a card carrying "boeing made my broom kinda girl" then you got it right:thumbsup2

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

ask anyone who is related to me.....:rolleyes1

jodie - get one of those body pillows (i stick one on both sides of me)...sorta like a cat marking his space.:rolleyes1 we enjoy ESPN, especially in the afternoon when you don't have to wait 2 hours in line. i can admit it here...never checkout jellyrolls or atlantic dance hall; always too bushed...that & those big brown eyes staring balefully @ me when I'd mention "kids club".:lmao: He's 14 now, old enough to hang for a few hours in the room, etc.

note to self - read the NICK magazine in the checkout line! congrats!

open house went swell today:) ; the teachers have decided to not only have youngest keep up with all this school work while we're on the cruise but, several have come up with a special project for him to complete. They were so excited about him sharing his experiences with the class - journal for English, Powerpoint presentation for Social Studies, etc. - groan...just what HS kids want to see-not.

Algebra II teacher suggested DS email his assignments every day...he's tripping, internet very pricey onboard. Realize they step things up in the big leagues (hi school); bit much imo. In the past he worked ahead or had the same amount of time to finish that he missed:coffee:

Oh, no! Emailing homework from the ships?! Doesn't the school know how much DCL costs and they want you to pay for Internet access on top of that?!

But does he seriously have to do Power Point presentations for his social studies class? Algebra II is 10th grade, right? Slide 1: The Social Conundrums of Pirate Night. Slide 2: The Peter Pan Syndrome Slide 3: Psuedo-societies on DCL: DISers v. Non-DISers. The possibilities are endless. (Of course, I assume he'll be doing presentations on ports of call -- he should do all that crud before hand -- ave. GDP, population, all that garbage you're supposed to care about in Social Studies)

You're a croc freak ... but it's OK to be a croc freak! I am a Teva freak! (10 years ago, I was a Birkenstock freak, then a Clark freak, the shoe de jour just happens to be Teva right now!) :)
