Hope Carol had a great trip....I think it's a good idea to buzz her hair (or cut it really, really short and spikey) and explain to the kids...less traumatic than seeing it go little by little and being bald in 'spots'. Please tell her we're all rootin' for her..... a shame there's some "illnesses" in the family... do you have a spare doctor mask or somethin of the sorts you can wear? You could be in the same room then, but don't have to be up close....that way, she'd still be able to see everyone and protect herself...oh, and wash those hands, wash those hands...SO very important!!!!

If you read the last page, you will note the time you broke the glass....and DM told you to use paper cups (however, putting a towel over the broken pieces was actually a good thought for a drunk person....I'm impressed!)

You spelled "jealous" correctly as a matter of fact!

It's okay to be homesick...it's normal.....besides, think of the friends here as "home" friends....that's where you were when you met us, right??? If you ever feel really homesick, think of all the mean stuff they used to say/do to you....that'll cure ya!

I just realized that I only have 3 weeks until race weekend. Dang. I was hoping to be a hot chick so I could dress all trashy. I guess I better put down the Krispy Kreme (I blame the cute kid selling boxes of them at the traffic light for some fund raiser).

Actually, since we have Club Level seating (Woo friggin Hoo!!!), I probably can't dress trashy anyway...

Hi - I'm here! Just came out in from the hammock enjoying the record high 86 degree weather. Not as high as yesterday's record (by 4 degrees!) 88, but still definitely warm out there!

Janet - what year did your cousin graduate from USNA? I was an exchange cadet and spent a semester there way back in the fall of '86.

Tricia - they closed the Krispy Kreme here a couple weeks ago! What am I going to do? Actually DS & I went to the Seroogy (a big local Candy factory) store this morning and stocked up on chocolate meltaways. That'll help the diet too! Sorry too about all the "sickies" in your family - hope you can hang in there until Tuesday. Is it as nice there as here? Can you open all the windows and get some fans going to get all the bad germs out?

Barb - Yeah, I'm still working out. Skipped a few mornings when I was feeling crummy, but other than that I'm sticking with it. I have a weakness for ridiculously sugary things... or fried thing... so Krispy Kreme, being fried AND sugar glaze coated... eh... what can I say?

It is a beautiful day here Marcie. Windows are WIDE open and I'm hoping to have a germ free house. Might clean something too while I'm at it, but we'll just have to see about that. I OD'ed on the donuts and I'm in that post-sugar-crash-comatose state at the moment.

Quick fly by post....
Sorry,. been MIA for a few days. Just been kinda crazy here at home.
I have at LEAST 10 pages to read up on. You gals are so chatty!!
The only post I have been able to read and post was Jodie's wedding post on the CB board. I know Tricia and Janet were on there too. Not sure if that thread is still around....
What's going on with me. My kids had a half of week of school this week. Conference time ,the parent/kid/teacher conferences were going on. My kids had a half day of school Thurs, came home at lunchtime. Had to go back to school with them 2 hrs later for their back-to- back conferences.
Yesterday, Friday, my kids are off of school again, so had a scheduled Dr.s appt for both of them in afternoon. Then they are off this coming Monday, for Columbus Day. They get too many of these days off!! I don't mind the holidays off (Columbus Day, President's day,etc), just all these other stupid days off with conferences! My kids have been on the computer, so less computer time for me, as we only have 1 computer
Other things going on as well. My dad isn't doing well. Having tests done at hosp, etc. My DH's dad isn't doing well either. FIL has a progressive disease, and got a call form one of my SIL's about some care planning and possible family conference, for his care.

THat's it for me. Oh, going to church pretty soon. Have all your backs(what Mac usually says ).

We have had the central air on for 2 or 3 days now Yes, it's that hot and humid (for DH anyway...i the heat!) Would love to open the windows, but it's too humid and DH won't sleep at nite. Altho, wearing shorts in October ....who's complainin?

Tricia...keep at it girl! Don't let a donut or two ruin your whole workout! Keep workin' it.... I was flippin thru channels tonite and saw something like the "Biggest Loser" show. It was title something along the lines of "I want my cheerleader body back"... Apparently those 'thin/slender' gals from HS who are now in the 150-170 range of weight....so, like Biggest Loser, but not over 200lbs. I thought "wow...that was ME a few years ago..." Altho, I lost my weight with diet, not exercise, I now do exercise (realized i still have to 'tone' the flab )

So, what kinda trouble did everyone get into today?? Since it's been relatively quiet around here today...I will bore you all to sleep with my day:

I went to work this morning..actually, a little later than usual.... Regular first client came yesterday due to a trip, so, I wasn't about to call the 2nd client and so on and move everyone "up" in the day...took the opportunity to sleep in. So, after an uneventful day at work, I was going to come home, but Bubba had a friend over (and he just got there), so hurrying home to go get Bubba his pirate costume was on hold. So, decided to stop by the mall and pay off my refrigerator at Sears (bought a year ago w/ no finance for 12 mths....well, this was the last chance to pay in full before all that 'back' interest kicked in). So, I headed to the mall, and proceeded thru Sears, stopping to check out boots (that I was going to need for pirate costume). My Mom told me she saw a sale for 50% off. So, still at $40-$50 on SALE, I decided to check Payless in the mall. Along the way, I pop into Claire's (ear piercing/accessory place, if you're not familiar). Was looking for a gold clip-on earring for DH's pirate costume. They didn't have any 'gold' ones, but I DID find some necklaces for my costume! They are perfect...couldn't find anything more perfect if I was looking for them! (which I was, but nonetheless...)

So, happy with my find, I stroll up to Payless. BOGO going on.... so I already know they are going to hit me up for that...not interested, thank you very much....now, leave me alone! Anyhow, browsing my size, happen upon a pair of black boots...that look "piratey" (if that's a word ) They are perfect AND 50% off....costing me a total of $19.99 Figuring I'm not going to find anything better looking AND cheaper, I bought 'em!

So, my next stop was a little wine store/shed in the middle of the mall....stopped and picked up a ----"heart" vino---- tshirt for my SIL for Christmas (she's Italian and a BIG wine drinker)...so, I'm 2 for 2 on my Halloween costume, and 1 down on a Christmas gift ...and no, still haven't paid the Sears bill yet .

While in the mall, I remember the Hallmark store has "ornament weekend" and ya get double or triple points..or something like that... . So I head to Hallmark store. Each year my Mom gets me the Celebration Barbie ornament and DH gets me the other Barbie collection going on (#14 this year...can't remember the name, but she's been in business outfit, swim suit, fancy dress, etc....) So, I get those ornaments, plus one for Bubba (we give him one each year) and talk with the manager too (she's a client of mine and had to cancel her last appt., so she was giving me good times for me to check and schedule her an appt). I asked her if they had a Halloween Adventure in the mall, and she directed me that way.

Was still looking for that clip on earring for DH. I got there and saw a pair for $4....okay. ALSO, saw a parrot ($14.99) and called DH about it. Had them hold it till tomorrow (cuz of price), cuz DS is now into dressing like a pirate with us for the cruise next summer ...told him we could get him a parrot for his shoulder....told him I don't think anyone would go to that extreme! So, just a little "influence" to get him to change his mind and participate w/ us! After here, I finally went to Sears and paid my bill....

After Ry's buddy went home, we ate dinner and then headed to a HUGE craft warehouse in search of a "cheaper" parrot. (No returns at the Halloween store). We found a better looking bird for $2.99 SCORE!!! We purchased him and headed toward the Halloween Adventure store near where we live (the mall I was at was near where I work, and that was 20 min from home). What a surprise to get to the Halloween store! They were sold out of 1/2 the stuff we saw last week! A LOT of stuff sold! Luckily, they had quite a few 'pirate' stuff in Bubba's size to pick from. He finally decided to be this pirate. He also got a sword, hat and has that parrot for his shoulder! He is going to be awesome lookin'!!! So, I try it on him and notice a few 'tears' in the shirt....not really a BIG deal, but I know they will discount a costume if parts are missing (like last week) or they don't have anymore in that size to offer.... So, it went from $27.99 to $19.99... SCORE again!!! I'm on a roll today!!!! So, we happily paid them another $45 and headed home.

So, here I sit on the DIS and watchin' the Flyers game....they looked good, but will probably lose by 1....mof, they just lost Oh well, it WAS a GOOD game tho

Going to see what other trouble I can find......

btw, prolly won't be fired Monday.....decided to go to work for various reasons and haveta call Ma and see if she can take Bubba and take him to his dentist appt...... I gots a plan up my sleeve

Going to be another hot one here today Kids are off from school tomorrow for Columbus Day so an extra day to get all their laundry done.

Not too much else going on except the Phils are three and out Oh well, at least we get most of our money back......

I know, I know - I had hoped they would have put up a little bit of a fight, but, whatever......The Rockies are HOT right now and will probably be like the Cardinals last year as ini they were the wild card winner and rode it all the way through!

Barb - Sounds like you were the shopping QUEEN yesterday. All that accomplished and in bargain hunter style... I'm impressed! Keep us posted with the plan at work.


Hubby is out mowing. Depending on the weather, we should be nearly at the end of mowing season. After he gets done, we'll probably put up the Halloween decorations. I'll try to check back in later.

Mornin everyone. Yesterday was slow in here. We had a basketball camp, then soccer, then got to watch my Sooners beat the Longhorns!!!!!!

Our hs girls won the state championship in softball yesterday. Didn't get to go because Ally's soccer time interfered. Way to go ladies! HS football team beat our biggest rivals Friday night, not much of a game.

Hope eveyone is doing good. Gonna watch the race later.
