welcome to NFL week 5

Philly has the bye.

Giants and Jets play at 1.....yes, I am a giants fan, and live in New England, where the 4 and 0 Pats take on Cleveland.
Seattle at Pitt
Atlanta at the Titans
and Chicago at Green Bay..... 4-0 Green Bay
COULD THEY BE THE SURPRISE HIT THIS SEASON?????? Marcie, You jumping or what??????????????

Just flying by to say hi before we head off to our new church's dedication. Yes, it will be 3 hours between the 2 churches in 87 degree weather! I'm already excited, can you tell? ;) Luckily the Packers' game is a night game and doesn't interfere or you'd have some unhappy football fans!

We're already at 80 degrees. Today's record is 81. (11am-ish) Think we'll break it? Shattered the last 2 days' records, why not another? Maybe there is something to that global warming. But being in Green Bay, I'm all for it!

DS had his homecoming dance last night - pics to follow. Just had to drag him out of bed at 11 to get ready for church and he's NOT enthusiastic. Guess there's a reason not to stay up until 2am! They had their homecoming game on Friday night and won 73-7! It was 61-0 at half time and they just ran the clock for the second half. Exciting game!

If I am forgetting your NFL team, PLEASE let me know.

:surfweb:
Remember me, the only Raiders fan around these parts, (that I'm aware of) we have a bye as well, and already have as many wins as last year. Can only get better from here :)

Have fun, whatever you are doing. :cool1:

All in Orlando with Mac, have fun:cool1: :thumbsup2
When is everyone coming back from Orlando? (Mac and Jodie)?

Ok, gotta run. Got to visit my grandma today in the nursing home.

It's a hot one here today and yesterday :beach:

I spoke to Mac a little while ago..she's at the Studios getting ready for the RIP Tour tonight with a little food and fun at Finnegan's. I won't be heading over tonight...I've been  all day and don't want to get worse. She told me it was raining pretty good over there right now and she didn't bring the camera with her tonight.

She's hopping a plane tomorrow evening for home but we've already started making plans for HHN next year. :woohoo:

As for the Raiders:rolleyes1 :rotfl: ; when I think Raiders, i immediately think of Jack Tatum; he was instrumental in one of the greatest moments of pro football - the immaculate reception. jk (sorta lol) akdar; those old-skool rivalries still burn. Are you a hometown boy? Know my middle DS rooted for them over the last 10 years or so.

Marci - as i recall, he graduated in the early 1970s. The crocs i sold were the new Primas; ballerina type flats. I read that you should go up a size, only whole sizes, no way!

allison - i'm really determined to sell more on ebay! If i wasn't so repulsed by the thought lol; the idea of preworn diva seller might be a good niche market...very creepy crap.:scared:

Phantom Fright nights kept us out until 2:00 am.; very cool. Have to check camera to see if i got any decent pics.

Sooooo...when's the invasion being planned for next year metro?

off to throw up some more decorations.

You mean the Immaculate DECEPTION!!!!!!!

I was watching that game, I was only 9 years old, but already an Oakland Raiders fan. I am still angry about that, can you tell :confused3

Quick checkin...

The Falcons offense forgot to show up again today, at least for the second half. Oh, there were guys with small numbers on their jerseys running around... but looked nothing like an offensive line.

The end of the race was exciting, so at least some of the afternoon was fun.

Carol got her hair buzzed and I took the boys over for just a few minutes so they could see her. Joshua said she got her hair cut just like him... and said he'd have to start calling her Aunt Jarol (Joshua-Carol combined).

I have a terrible headache, so I'm going to see if I can relax or something. You guys have a fun evening.

The end of that race was great wasn't it Tricia? Unfortunately other than the last 30 or so laps it wasn't real exciting. Loved the way Jeff won it in the end though.

I have had a headache all day myself. Hope yours is better.

By the way, does anyone have a link to Katie's last trippie? I don't seem to be able to find it.

Later everyone!

naw, i would've never known:rotfl2: . You sound like a charter member of the Raider Nation. 3 Superbowl Rings is nothing to sneeze at. if it were the other way around i'm sure i'd feel exactly the same way!

Just kidding 'wit ya, no grudge here - most of us in the 'burg are too busy bad-mouthing the Mistake by the Lake (personally, i detest Raven's #57-Lewis:upsidedow how does he get out of all that trouble?)

lori & tricia - Nascar? vroom-vroom; bet it's noisy @ the track; def. enough to give you a headache. My neighbors now have 3 different flags (#3 RIP; #3 vintage & jr's colors) hanging from their mc mansion. Wonder if they'll get the new version when his # changes next year? Lots of flappin going on when it's breezy.

I don't follow the sport; did hear the hub-bub about Mrs. E not releasing the # when he switches sponsors? what's up with that?

She's a "B"!:rolleyes1

Bet his daddy is wishing he had made arrangements before his untimely death. She sure hasn't done what SR. wanted done with the company.

I have never actually been able to attend a race but sure would love to some day.

I'm gonna go take a hot bath and see if I can shake this headache. If not at least I will be nice and relaxed for bed.

Night guys!

Hi - yeah, we WISH we were at the Packers game! Unfortunately being "new" GB'ers, tickets aren't very easy to come by - especially when the team is winning! We did get the tickets for a couple weekends ago through the county lottery, but that's it. DH is bidding on tickets for the Packers/Lions game in Detroit when we'll be home on Thanksgiving. That may be all the games we make this season if the Packers keep this up!

Speaking of which, what was up with the turnovers early in the game? I'm on the computer briefly typing notes/emails to the kids' teachers (all kinds of fun stuff), then heading back to the game but thought I'd stop in, catch up on this thread, and say hi!

Rose (and anyone else) - thanks for the compliments on the GF. If I can talk DH into uploading the pics during an upcoming commercial, I can get the Homecoming shots on from last night!

Quick night fly by...

Marcie- sorry to say this, but we (Da Bears) kicked the Packers butts tonight!!! :cool1: :dance3:
As of statistics, the Bears ALWAYS wins against the Packers at Lambeau! :thumbsup2 It's been this way for quite awhile. You should have seen the look on Favre's face(I'm sure you have). He definitely didn't look happy
This game for Da Bears was very crucial.

DM- thanks for letting me know what PUI was :)

Metro West- Sorry to hear you are  Glad to hear Mac is doing well and coming home soon :woohoo:

Lori and Tricia- hope your headaches go away soon and feel better :wizard:

Keisha shadow- so how was Horror Night at Kennywood? I saw the little video from Kennywood you had on your post the other day, not really for me and my fam unfortunately. Sounded like you had a good time tho :thumbsup2

Gemma- hope you are doing well at university :)

Have a good night everyone.

Good Morning Sunshines!!

Happy Monday everyone. Kids are off, lots of housework to do.....football practice tonight. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

DM - sorry to hear that HHN wasn't better for you. Maybe try and go again in a few weeks? Do they make some changes and adjustments during the course of the event?

mac will be leaving tonight, bet she is not happy about that - can't wait to read her trippie/see her pix

getting some more coffee and will check in again in a bit :surfweb:

If you really want to talk Nascar, I can get into a lot of detail... but here's a quick synopsis of the Earnhart thing...

Mrs. Earnhart (Teresa) became the owner of DEI (Dale Earnhart Inc) when Dale Sr. died. Teresa is Mrs. Earnhart Number 2. DEI is a company that owns several race cars, one of which is the Number 8 car that Dale Jr. drives. Dale Jr announced at the beginning of this season that he is leaving DEI and going to drive for another owner next year. There is much talk of the emotions and reasons behind the move. Dale Jr. says that he needs more control and/or ownership of his own car because he can't win without it. Most fans believe that we are dealing with the ego of Mrs. E. She wants to assert her importance as the widow... while most people consider Dale Jr. as the man who is carrying on his father's legacy... so that constantly puts her in the "stepmom to the real deal" position... and that seems to piss her off. As far as the number, DEI's (Teresa's) position is that they OWN the number 8 car and have a contract with the sponsor (Budweiser), so they won't release it to the new company Dale Jr. will drive for next year. Is it a contract thing or an ego thing? Who knows. I think we all believe that the number 8 *could* have been released if Teresa had really wanted to.

That's about as simply as I can boil it down without getting into the breakdown of ownership of cars between company & driver... and contracts... and sponsorship deals. It gets confusing.
