Thanks for the support, encouragement, prayers, thoughts... it really helps. Carol is right now at a meeting with her oncologist to discuss options. She is at the point now that if there is not much chance of recovery anyway, she doesn't want to spend the time she has left in treatment. I'm hoping they will tell her that she has at least some chance for recovery. I should know more in a couple of hours.

Meanwhile, the monthly "too old for a stroller" debate has cropped up on the CB. I did a post and then unsubscribed from it.

Okay, so Carol had her meeting with the oncologist yesterday. They have scheduled her to have a port put in on Monday and her chemo begins on Tuesday. Serious chemo. She will lose all her hair. She will be very sick. She will have chemo on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays… then a booster shot on Saturdays… for 6 weeks. They will then do a comparison scan of the cancer to see if it is shrinking. If it responds, they are hoping to do surgery sometime in November.

Carol and her partner Deb are on the road to Florida. She is going to spend the next couple of days at PCB. She wants a few days to veg on the beach before the bad stuff begins.

At least they have formulated a plan… and there is hope… right?


Now, enough about that for the moment. I don't want to be the doom and gloom gal around here.

How soon is too soon to decorate for Halloween? I'm not talking about the hay bales/mums/pumpkins thing that some people do as a generic "fall" display... I'm talking about the real deal Halloween stuff. Joshua was asking yesterday if we could bring the boxes up from the basement, but I told him it was too soon. Is it? Maybe this weekend? Hmmm...

I am off to the gym and tanning and lunch then work. Tonight is my last night of work before vacation, so I am in VACATION mode, baby! FUG already said I could leave early tonight (tit for tat ... I let him leave early last night!).

Anyway, I actually braved the Community Board and started a thread ... what's the deal with 2pm on a Friday weddings and 9pm Sunday receptions and destination weddings lately? I can't take it. I at least tried to make it easy for my guests to attend, and I entertained, fed and watered them the entire time they were there. Seems to me a lot of brides and grooms are only thinking about themselves lately and not thinking about their guests even just a little bit! If you want guests, you have to consider their comfort and convenience, don't you?

tricia - for some reason computer (which was sent back to manufacturer for cpr beginning of summer, even a new hard drive wouldn't fix it) now won't read my camera's SD card.

anyone tech savy? Just bought the camera, Fuji FinePix Z5 it's pink end of July, uploaded pics once to computer (the ones i still owe from Cedar Point ) and all was well. Now, cannot get the new batch to upload.

Camera is reading (?) still displaying the pics on the memory function button. I do have an internal memory feature in the camera; believe it only reverts over if my stick is full? It's a big card, 2 Gs; resolution isn't set real higher either.

You still have yours, did they "erupt" thru gumline...usually problems when they don't want to poke thru...good luck.

I spent the afternoon on the phone with HP service techs. At least i'm not as clueless as I thought when i came to uploading pics...after several hours of instructions/troubleshooting; my card reader is shot. Get to install one that's on it's way. i'll toss the box @ DH, same as I did the hard drive last June.

Apparently 3rd grade is the big 'transition' year w/ homework and tests and such. Ry gets quite a bit of homework/reading, so that's why I'm not on most nights till after you all go to bed. We get home from soccer practice after dark, and by the time we shower, do homework, chores, etc....it gets late. They are changing the karate class schedule around, so our times are going from early to late classes there Then, I'm dealing w/ an "issue" at work...so, I may be fired or quit soon....we'll see..... Bubba's soccer coach signed the boys up for winter/indoor soccer league now too....so, other than I know games are Monday nites, waiting for more info there

Just busy, busy, busy here......somebody stop this ride called life....I wanna get off
