Okay, just opened today's mail and DS12 (Eric) got a postcard that says in big capital letters:

ERIC
You've been selected to enjoy Playboy for just $1 an issue, our absolute lowest price! And get a FREE DVD! :confused3

I'm debating returning it (it's postage paid) with a note across it saying "Eric is 12 years old and his mommy says no!" :rotfl:

I'm guessing it's because he's subscribed to a lot of golf magazines, but still!

Janet - actually Ally & I left the house about 7 to go to drop off oldest DS's order from youngest DS's fund raiser. We didn't get back home until about 8:30. That is why DH had control of the TV in the living room, usually Ally has this one and he has one in the bedroom. I can't stand any of the crap he watches, so through with the negative stuff that I refuse to watch it.

I have seen According to Jim a few times and that does happen a lot. I guess that is why I prefer for the living room tv to be on the Disney Channel or Discovery Kids. I know she is going to be in here where I am and that way I don't really have to worry about what she is seeing.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorta catching up before I go shower to wake up a bit!

Janet, I saw that thread, but I just cannot participate. I can't! It does crack me up though! Opus and I were going to be friends tonight, but my curiosity got the best of me and I looked up what a bottle of 1997 Opus One was going for these days :scared1: .... I'm guessing I'll save that for New Year's Eve instead. Yes, I may wear cheap bras, but life's too short to drink cheap wine, but it's not so short that Opus One should be consumed while I'm half dead to the world and I don't remember enjoying it.

Melissa, please, no, you didn't sound hateful! How could you ever sound hateful?! :goodvibes I just wanted to make sure I didn't offend you, as half the time I don't realize that people do not read the expression with which I am typing!

Marcie, I totally think you should write that your son is 12 and Mommy says no back to Playboy! That would be funny. :) Can you send a copy of the solicitation to Perverted Justice??

Sharon, enjoyed your wedding pic too!

Ok, my brain hurts now. Hasta luego, amigas.

Yeah, we're having a rough day today here in terms of stupid things like this! Yesterday I picked up my birth control pills at the pharmacy, and also got some acne cream for Matt (DS15) since he's been whining about needing it. Later on I was looking for my BCP's, but not really worrying about them since it's a new pack I didn't need yet.

This morning he comes in holding them and asks "Why was this in my room?" I'm like "Oh, I got them for your girlfriend!" :lmao: "JUST KIDDING!" and told him I'd been looking for them. Not your Hallmark mom moment, eh?

Well Marcie you are keeping me in stitches today!!!!!!

Miranda, my daughter that is going through the divorce, just called. It seems that soon to be ex-sil came by her house today. She has a friend (female) that has moved in to help her with the house payment, utilities, etc. since she is now living on one salary in a three bedroom house. I guess he thought this room mate was a male, and just a room mate (now they are getting divorced because Miranda was not okay with sil's girlfriend calling her to tell her about their relationship). So he proceeds to bust out Julies (the room mates) windows, slashed her tires & wrote F U on the front of her car. Their neighbor saw him do it. Even more interesting is that Julie works for the sheriff's dept. and has a sheriffs badge on her license plate.

Madison, my granddaughter, will be 4 years old on Sunday. He needs help desperately and if he doesn't get help he needs to be put away before he hurts someone.

Sorry to lay that on you guys. Thanks for listening.

Well I was actually getting on to post more info about Hannah Montana. You know I said something about thinking the concerts might have sold out. Well I logged back in to the fan club site to check on what was going on. Well if I counted correctly there are supposed to be 17 concerts that have tickets go on sale Saturday morning and EVERY ONE OF THEM ARE SOLD OUT!   There will be no tickets when the sales open to the general public.

lori - divorce is usually ugly, sorry...the sun will come out tomorrow! i'd come up with something from HSM; but it's off-limits in our house. Evidently the teen boys aren't as keen on it:rotfl: . My youngest is still whining about the parental controls i placed on the Directtv in his room; lots of shows i'd consider rather benign that he can't watch...funny thing is I can't remember the code to unlock it! Put it on years ago, didn't want the boys watching some of the late night HBO programs.

jodie - i'm a cheap wine-o; glass of ruinite lambrusco cut with giner ale & i'm good to go...it's better than the Boone's farm i cut my teeth on many years ago at parties in HS. I do appreciate the "hard stuff" though:) . I shall dub you our resident expert:wizard: . DH has a weakness for Asti Spumonte, our state stores have a very limited supply; i'm told we can special order other brands by the case...any suggestions?

while i'm talking booze:
* know FL sells wine in grocery stores...allowed to bring on 2 bottles of wine on cruise...do they have Sunday sales or should i pick it up on Saturday.
* never noticed if they sell liquor there too, if not, where, any place close to U or easy access heading down to Tampa?

marci = you probably had DS going for a minute;) .

Hey guys!

You all been chattin' up a storm today, eh??

(Somebody please tell me why they move the smilies around??? Drives me nutz when they do that!)

Marcie....lots of fun goin' on at your house today, huh? Pills, Playboy, oh my

Lori...you had a lot of time today, didntcha?? Ya know, I remember that accident in the spring, and I knew the team lost the game, but that is just awful about the text messaging :sad2:

Janet...how your picture come out?? Didja say "cheese" real pretty? :teeth:

RVGal said:
Wow. Sounds nasty. If she's bad enough for you to disown her, I'll dislike her just on principle. :snooty:
 Thanks buddy.... she (unfortunately) IS that bad....and she will never see the err of her ways cuz she's too stupid :headache:
And, you'll be happy to know, I don't smell anyone

As far as exercise, I tried the whole getting up early thing...not happenin' :sad2: I do it at 7pm (while watching tv) and it tires me out. Some people are "invigorated" by exercising early.....I'd rather do it toward the end of the day and "tire" myself out....seems to work pretty good for me. ;)

So, I know you are all just sitting on the edge of yer seat waiting to hear if I got my raise or not. First you have to know, my annual review (anniv. date) is early May, and I DID have my review and got a 2.5% raise then (not that it was a lot or a big deal). So, the VP of the company and the office mgr. & I go to the 'conference room' (a/k/a the "dining room") upstairs. OM proceeds to tell me that I'm not going to get it. VP steps in for more explanation. Basically he tells me the company can't afford it. WTH?? HR just quit in June and she made $20+/hr. AND another office person quit a couple weeks ago making appx. $15/hr. (give or take a buck or two)...so, where do you figure you can't afford it?? :confused3 Goes on to tell me he and Pres. (wife) of company make less than me.....uh, BS! They also tell me I should consider myself lucky that I DID get a raise this year, cuz nobody else did. (Okay...but the other 3 people are NEW HIRES and have only been there 90 days and they hired them all at $3/hr MORE than me  ...they're not eligible for raises....they were just hired!!!) So, I'm quitting by end of the month. Let them hire someone fulltime for that position and have to pay them more money (appx. $3 more an hour) for less output and quality of work. I'm very good at what I do, and it is a "detailed" oriented job and it's very easy to make mistakes. When I leave, they will be SO shorthanded, work will pile up and not get done...Customers are going to complain and aside from the owners of the company, I am pretty much the only person who knows how to do what I do (and, I AM the only person who does what I do).......oh, and I'm giving them 24 hours notice when I leave. :teeth: We have our annual summer meeting (a/k/a "toot our horn") the last Sunday of the month. From 8am-5pm! Forget it....ain't goin! :snooty: Apparently I'm not valuable enough to pay me what I'm worth, so, their meeting ain't worth the nickels they pay me for my day off (remember, Sunday is my only day off and I spend it w/ my boys). So, calling about a job in the morning and will start the hunt now....a pain, and yes, I could stay cuz it's better than nothin', but now it's the principle of it all. Thought I was more valuable to them than that, but guess they proved me wrong.....

Yeah well, not a big deal. I don't need that job to live, it just contributes to vacation fund :rotfl:

Off to check my other 19 emails..... *sigh*.....

Take care everyone.....have a good night! Sorry if I didn't address you personally....didn't mean to omit anyone..... :grouphug:

Hey everyone...quick hello from VA!

The wireless here is terrible so I can't catch up on the reading. Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Wow Barb I am so sorry to hear that. Good luck in your job search. I hope you find something much better & they have heck finding someone half as good.

Thanks... THEIR loss.....not mine :thumbsup2

HEY KFed!! Hope you're having a good start to the trip!!! Enjoy it!

Hey everybody!

Tricia, I'm so sorry that your sister is ill! I know what it's like to have someone close with cancer. We just lost my DH's sister in May. Cancer is a terrible thing and I wish that there would be some miracle breakthrough! Just know that all of your friends here in this box have you and your family in our prayers! :grouphug:
Lori, I was supposed to go on ticketmaster Saturday morning and try to score my sister 4 tickets to either the Little Rock, AR or the Bossier City, LA concert. She's supposed taking my niece and 6 of her friends :scared1: ! She told me she thinks it may be easier to get tickets to the Bossier City concert than the Little Rock concert because BC is on a Thursday and LR is on a Saturday. She was supposed to let me know Saturday morning which she decided on and she and I were each going to try to get 4. Kaylie will be so disappointed if we can't get the tickets!
Barb, I'm sorry to hear the news about the raise! And that sux about you having to drive all the way home and change for NOTHING!!!!
I work for a HUGE company and am told that we can't ask for raises that they are given out once a year. They used to do it in July, but last year, they had this big gigantic cost cutting program, (they said the company was losing money) and they didn't give us our raise until January, and now it is always going to be January.
Marcie, all i can say is :scared1: YIKES! Playboy! Yes, I agree with Jodie, send in the card and tell them that Mommy says NOOOOOO Eric can't have a Playboy subscription!!!And :scared1: Birth Control pills! Double :scared1: :scared1: !!!
Melissa, I checked out the website and they did a great job with Jennifer! She looks great! :thumbsup2
I'm right there with Janet, on the outlets!!! I am the queen of the bargain! Unless it's something that I am just really in LOVE with or desperately need, I don't pay full retail price! And I think the most I've ever paid for a bra was around $30, but it was one of those sexy ones that I really wanted! In general, I try not to spend more than $15 for a bra....can you say clearance racks....
Katie, I hope the weather in VA is nice for ya!
Big shout out to MAC and all the other homies out there! Hey Homies!
On a side note...Has anyone seen Fan2Cskr lately?

Barb -

Sorry to hear about the job situation. I know it's frustrating the way employers treat people nowadays. It's shameful. Maybe they'll get a big dose of karma in their face someday. :thumbsup2

Quick weather note...had a HELL of a storm at the house this evening. The power was off for 3 hours with lots of wind and heavy rain. BUT...downtown Orlando had a "hurricane" type storm yesterday afternoon with golf ball sized hail and torrential rain. I was home by the time that storm hit at didn't get a drop from the storm. We made up for it tonight. :scared:

Come to think of it...ain't see Fan around since her vacay :confused3

Alison....at least you are getting the raise (and probably paid what you are worth)...and in January ain't too bad....pays Christmas bills :thumbsup2

Todd...one of my mottos..."what goes around, comes around" ;) ...and thanks for the weather report! (Does ME no good, but nice to hear what's going on down there)...amazing you didn't get ANY of the Orlando rain....of course, I was once standing on one side of the street, watching it rain on the other...I didn't get wet at all :confused3 Thank goodness laptops have batteries for when the power goes out :teeth: (guess we know you'll be cuttin' the grass Saturday)

Allison - Mileyworld is showing that both shows are sold out already. They have a major problem with scalper getting these tickets with these presales. I know that Little Rock & Ft Worth were both sold out within 30 minutes of the presales starting Tuesday.

Looks to me like they need to go to a 4 ticket per person with them being sold only at the arena. And then they probably need to do some sort of lottery drawing to determine how people line up to make sure that the scalpers are not getting them all. This is so sad for all those little girls that have their hearts set on seeing Hannah. I know Ally has been waiting for her to come forever.

I really hope they have held something over for regular sales but it isn't looking good. Unless they only have a certain amount for presales & that is what is sold out. I know that the site shows that the OKC presale is over, not that the show is sold out, but it is sold out. We'll keep our fingers crossed that it is just presale that is sold out.

Did any of that make sense?

Okay....i have an 8 yo BOY....what is the big deal w/ Hannah?? Like "Amanda Bynes"? ...or a young (& better) Brittany?? :confused3 I'm guessing she's just the 'in' thing right now, but I don't know anything about her :confused3
