Hey .... where'd the weatherman go?? :confused3

Just saw on the news that the tropical thing they are watchin' comin' toward Fla., has a 60% chance of going out to sea and not going near Fla... :cool1: for HHNer's :thumbsup2

Well, Hannah is not really either. I never liked the Amanda Show, to Of course I don't know how Brittany was before she got big but I would hope that Hannah or Miley never turns in to that!

The show is really cute. She is really cute. Maybe you don't want Bubba to get in on this after all! Of course the site is still showing tickets are available for the show in PA.

Okay....i have an 8 yo BOY....what is the big deal w/ Hannah?? Like "Amanda Bynes"? ...or a young (& better) Brittany?? :confused3 I'm guessing she's just the 'in' thing right now, but I don't know anything about her :confused3

Yeah, my boys would never go see her in concert! Just not cool for the boys, but my niece is 12 and she's all that to her little group! My DS10 thinks she's really pretty, but DS13 says she's just OK...:confused3 . But, DS13 says he has different standards for local girls than TV girls....meaning that if she was a local girl she'd be more than OK...No, on the other hand, DS13 thinks Amanda Bynes is......drum roll please....... ALL THAT! (did you get it?) You'd have to watch Nick to get that one!

Brit's my very distant cousin....something like my great grandfather and her great-great grandfather were brothers, but we don't know her. My uncle figured it out one time...:rolleyes1

Too bad that's not LA, that they're not sold out for....My sis is gonna be unhappy if we can't get tickets! I can't get Mileyworld to work right now...must be a bunch of tween girls and their mammas online right now!

Poor Brittany. I actually kinda worry about the girl. She needs help desperately before she ends up like Marilyn or Anna Nicole. So very sad.

Well, we can keep our fingers crossed that they just sell a certain amount during the presale. OKC's show sold out in 5 hours after they went on sale to the general public.

Now DS is about 6 months older than Miley & I don't think he would mind the chance to date her!

Yeah, I worry about Brit too! It's sad when you watch someone grow up and then see them like that! I feel bad for her!
I don't think my DS13 would pass up the chance to date Miley if she was a local girl, but he's funny about TV people for some reason. He says he has a different set of standards for them....:confused3 I think she's precious!

Mornin' everyone.....odd I'm first "up" this morning.....guess Tricia isn't finished her sit-ups yet ;)

So, we have "celebrity" blood here with us, do we?? Miss Alison is distant relative of Brittany....

(sorry for your loss girl)

Anyhows....good day to everyone today!!!!

Morning homies!!!

Going to be a cloudy day here....good day to empty the pool me thinks :thumbsup2

am still tinkering with a trip to Disney/Universal for the second week in December - wish DH would make up his stinking mind :lmao: :lmao:

be back after I get CBean to skool:teacher:

BTW, Marcie, Sharon, Tricia and Jodie thanks for sharing your wedding pics with us! They totally rocked!!!!!

I tried to get on the boards a few times last night, but we were having a major storm and our power kept flickering off for a few seconds, so it just got frustrating and I gave up. :headache:

I haven't caught up with everything that y'all said last night, but I'll try later. Right now I need to go take a big dose of "calm down". I had to have a chat with Joshua's teacher(s) this morning. There is a little boy in his class that has decided to terrorize him. First, it was just shoving and poking when nobody was watch... then, it escalated to knocking him down on the playground... now, the little bully is telling other kids that they can't be friends with Joshua or he will beat on them too. Single out and isolate my kid? Oh, I don't think so. You are in Kindergarten and the grownups still rule your butt. I talked with the teachers and they were completely unaware of the situation and they both looked like they were ready to cry. They both kept looking at each other and saying, "Joshua is so sweet." He is and he hates confrontations (probably gets that from me). We have a very calm household. We don't scream or fight nasty or hit, so this is a complete unknown to him. Anyway, I did what I could to make the grownups in charge aware of the situation. Of course, what I wanted to do was hunt down the little jerk and pound on him for hurting my baby...

And would they quit shuffling the smileys??? I just get used to where they are and now I've got to hunt. You'll just have to imagine the appropriate smileys are in the appropriate spots.

Get 'em Tricia!

Ah, and thus it begins for your baby to encounter bullies at school..... maybe 1 word will help: karate. :scratchin  Seriously, been down this road....let me know if there's any advice I could give you .... (and NO, you cannot walk around skool w/ him all day defending him and smacking sense into the snot nose brats doing this to your baby!)

Tracie... I think it's safe to say you can empty the pool now....did you see the forecast "hi" for Sunday? 69! ( well, cooler here, cuz i'm burbs, not city)....summer is over....

Tricia,

Sorry to hear about the bullying thing. I hope that the adults in charge handle it for you!

I am also very, very sorry to hear about your sis. I will keep her in my thoughts.

did you all see the post about Ripsaw Falls? Its got the lapbars now! Hmmm, not too sure how DH and KBean will like that :scared:

Thanks guys.

Barb - One of the first things I told Brad is that we need to get Joshua into a Karate-type class somewhere. Not that I want to equip him to kick other kids' butts, but I want him to feel physically confident. He is tall, skinny, smart, sensitive... pretty much a target for bullies. Our only problem at the moment is that the business has had a crappy summer (our big selling season) and we're heading into the lean months. I don't have any idea how much classes like that will cost, but we'll check into it.

JUST read it  WHAT are they doin?? They are ruinin' it :sad2: Oh well.....will have to try it anyway

Penny....thanx for the :grouphug: ...i still have my other job at the salon 3 days a week. The office job (that refuses to pay me my "worth") was my other part time job 3x week. So, if worse comes to worst, i'll be back to working 3 days a week instead of 6!

you need some time off anyways.....i know its your vacation funding job, but you REALLY need a month off of working 6 days a week.

(warning!...toot, toot coming up....)We go to the Karate for Kids school near us. It's an international "company" (if you will)..... When you check out skools, ask them if he can come to 1 or 2 classes to "try it out" and see if he likes it before "committing". Bubba always wanted to do karate (not sure why, nobody else in family does it) and he is that tall, thin, smart kid bullies love to target too. He has gotten so much confidence from training, it's unreal. At the KfK (Karate for Kids), they teach them "life skills" too...."word of the week" is implemented and they set goals each week (short and long term). For instance, a short term goal is to get a "life stripe". One way to get it is to utilize the word of the week irl. If the word of week is "courtesy", when i (or his teacher) see him display courtesy, we write in on the word of week paper and turn it in so he gets a stripe. (Need 9 to test every quarter). So, when he held the door open for me to bring groceries in the house, that got him word of the week stripe. Some of the other words they work on are: self-esteem, confidence, fun, respect, self-control, generosity, perseverance, etc.... I think cuz we train thru ATA, it's not cheap, but then again, the learning of life skills, the exercise portion of it (the boy got some AB's for 8 yo  ), learning to defend himself, etc.... is totally worth every cent :thumbsup2

Good luck shopping around.... and IF he decides to take a class to try it out, talk w/ the other parents whose kids are in the class....see what they have to say.

Thought that was what vacation was for?? :confused3 :lmao: I'll be there till the end of the month...hope to find something else by then... 3 days/wk at the salon will have to work for now....and, busy season is fast approaching there..... oh, Tracie, btw, whatever happened w/ the whole haircolor thing??

It sounds good Barb, but I'm in a small town in NE Georgia. The closest ATA franchise to me is about a 45 min drive away. The closest Karate for Kids is about 1.25 hours away. I don't know how the schools that are here in town operate, so I'll have to start doing some research.

That's why I mentioned KfK...they are more expensive (cuz of the "chain" and "international" thing), but when you check out the local skools, still ask them to "try" a class or two.....

(Luckily, our school is less than mile ;) )
