i just checked the forcast. It does not look to good for you. :sad1: Have you advertised it? If so, be ready for people to show up as early 6:00. We had our first ever last summer. We had advertised no early birds, but people were knocking on the door at 6:00. Crazy! Don't be scared! I did'nt want to have one either, but when the money started adding up I changed my mind. :lmao: Have lots of change ready for those people with $20 bills.

If it is nice sunday i may head done to Kittery to the outlet shops:rolleyes1

Hey! My daughter and I were thinking of going to Kittery or North Conway on Sunday too! Let me know if you decide to go and maybe we could meet for lunch or an ice cream!
:cool1:

Doesn't everyone have that pose?? Do they teach them that at photographer skool? :confused3

I don't have that pose. Maybe my photographer didn't go to school! He was just part of the package deal we got at the wedding chapel, so I don't even remember his name.

No, my sister is a b**ch and won't let her see me....THAT is ONE of MANY reasons my sister is disowned! :snooty: (She only lives less than 1/2 hour away)

Wow. Sounds nasty. If she's bad enough for you to disown her, I'll dislike her just on principle. :snooty:

(oh, and I see you got "it"....glad you likes!)

Yep... and I likes it!!! :yay:

I don't know when the boards went down. When I first tried to sign on this morning, they weren't working, but by the time I got dinner in the Crock Pot they're back. :confused3

Have a good day at work... and I've had a shower, so if you smell me later it should be a pleasant odor. :flower1:

day 3 is up....

forewarning, we are boring!

You're NOT boring! I'm enjoying the reports... popcorn::

Morning everyone!

I've decided that the only way I will fit exercise consistantly into my daily routine is to get up before everyone else and do it. You cannot imagine how difficult it has been the last couple of mornings to drag my tush out of bed early and exercise. Sleep is a precious commodity and it is difficult for me to give it up for anything, but I'm told it'll be worth it. We'll see. :rolleyes1

ha-whoa:banana:, as my kids used to say.

off to dept of motor vehicles, pic card is running out; guess i'll have to look like a skunk in my pic...maybe if i use one of those photog tricks & tilt my head just so.:lmao:

KFed - tons of fun! didn't you just get back from vaca? jk

Someday, my DH will show me how to use our fancy-smancy all in one Pixma & I can scan all my old pics too...or i could read the directions - not.

Not sure what school my 1st photog attended, he passed out @ the reception; at least his wife was there - she took over. Pics still came out just fine lol. btw, in my family it's not considered a success until @ least one particular cousin passes out; course he hits the floor & bounces right back up & keeps doing shots.:sad2: we've got some two fisted drinkers in my family, grandfathers worked the mines - started the day off with a 'lil something.

as tricia sez...smell you later!

Whats cookin for dinner?

Morning everyone!
I've decided that the only way I will fit exercise consistantly into my daily routine is to get up before everyone else and do it. You cannot imagine how difficult it has been the last couple of mornings to drag my tush out of bed early and exercise. Sleep is a precious commodity and it is difficult for me to give it up for anything, but I'm told it'll be worth it. We'll see. :rolleyes

You must be feeling better?!

Whats cookin for dinner?

It's what I politely refer to as "chicken & veggies". In other words, I threw whatever veggies I have around in the Crock Pot along with some cut up boneless chicken breasts and dumped a can of chicken stock on top. Let's see, I had carrots, celery, mushrooms and potatoes this time... so I added some garlic, celery salt & pepper too.

You must be feeling better?!

Oh, yeah. Tremendously better. I'm still careful about what I eat because the doctor warned me not to go crazy and eat spicy stuff or anything for several days until my system has a chance to recover, hence the chicken and veggies for dinner, but I am feeling completely human again. :goodvibes

Oh, and the big news:

I GOT A JOB!!!

Congrats on the job. I hope you enjoy it.

And I like getting mushy. It doesn't matter to me if it is the warm fuzzy kinda mushy or the I need a good cry mushy. It's all good. :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for the support. I'm gonna need to vent here from time to time, I'm sure. Right now, my sister doesn't want to tell anyone outside the family. I don't know why, but it's her decision. That leaves me with nobody to talk to about stuff. Can't talk to my mom... she just falls apart. My oldest sister and I aren't that close. My brother already lost a wife to cancer, so he really isn't an option.

Anyway, her name is Carol and she isn't just my sister, she is one of my best friends. [/end size]

Just know that we are here for you whenever you need us. Come vent, cry, laugh, whatever you need. Just remember that positive, happy thoughts go a long way to helping those miracles along.

I'm a day late and a dollar short, but here's my wedding photo from starter husband #1, minus the groom...many many years ago! We are actually still good friends. :goodvibes Second wedding was on Cadillac Mt in Acadia National Park at sunset. Just DH, the justice and me! I wasn't going thru all that hoopla again.
wedding-1.jpg

Beautiful pic. The second wedding sounds lovely. Wish there were some pics of it.

To answer your question, I work in operations, which definitely contributes to my little "issue." We surveill and troubleshoot and report on troubles (to the FCC and itnernally) in the telecom network internationally. We see the impact of failures in the network and once they hit a threshold, establish bridges to get everyone involved who needs to fix the problems. Sleeping yet? I bore myself talking about it!

To answer your other burning question: our door is still not fixed. It seems to be Liberty Mutual (UPS's insurance) that is sitting on our claim. We've faxed UPS the estimate, UPS filed the claim with the record that their driver left the package at our door, we took pics, UPS took pics, and this is all sitting squarely in the hands of Liberty Friggin Mutual. Buttfaces.

Lori, Hannah Montana is something, isn't she? I don't get it, but I didn't get HSM either, so who am I? I am glad you got your tickets!

Job doesn't sound boring, just complicated.

That insurance company needs to get off the behinds and settle that claim. This has been going on for how long?

You know, I really like Hannah, even like Billy Ray. I would much rather Ally have the shows on the Disney Channel to watch then have her see all of the negative crap that is on elsewhere. Last night DH had the main tv on one crap show after another & I finally told him I would rather watch continuous reruns of HM, the Suite Life, etc then have her see that crap he was watching.

But the whole HM & HSM thing is kinda mind boggling! :scared1: I mean multiple concerts selling out within hours. The whole hoopla over HSM2! By the way, don't know how many of you have seen HSM2 but there is a baseball scene in there that is so over the top it is hilarious!:lmao: :lmao: I can just see my DS's high school team doing that dance!

lori - u r the mom:banana: , daughter will never forget it! as for DL we have to work around stoopid SIL's kid. I actually like him the best of the bunch:) . If memory serves me correctly, she said June 21st:confused: ; will have to call. So..we're thinking perhaps a day or 2 afterwards for 8 or 9 days, to be home before the 4th of July? Not sure if crowds will be any lower then or we should just wait until later in July or August? Even after reading 3 guidebooks i'm lost, a whole 'nuther World of planning.

college fair went swell, most of the local private schools start out @ $30K:scared1: ; i'm pushing for public school (slippery rock, edinboro, gannon, duquesne) or PENN STATE:banana: . They have a local campus 10 min. from our house, he could do the 1st 2 years there; then transfer to main...i might even spring for a junker car.
Don't know if I have said this before, if so sorry for repeating, but we will not be leaving until at least the 5th. DS will finish baseball the weekend before the 4th and then we have a little 4th of July festival here that Ally thinks she has to attend. Not sure why, last summer we stayed for about an hour. Maybe she will grow out of it soon.

So how old is your DS? Michael is a sophomore and is planning to go to OU. He will be a 4th generation student if he does. DH has heard of a legacy program that helps with tuition to multi-generation students. We will be getting more info on that one!

What grade is your son? Mine is a senior. I feel like we have been to hundreds of colleges. I hoping for some good merit scholarships! He was real close to acing his SATs. He's on the robotics team at his high school, and there area quite a few colleges that offer scholarships for that too. I can't get him interested in the local University. We have a campus in our back yard too. But they don't offer the type of engineering he wants. It would be $15K a year vs the $50K at the private schools he is looking at. :scared1: My DD is on the 5 or 6 year plan. I stopped paying for it after 4. I'm hoping that with her paying for it, she will buckle down and get better grades. I'm not holding my breath. :rolleyes1

What kind of engineering degree is your DS considering? DH is a mechanical engineer, although these days he sure wishes he had done petroleum!

Hey all!!! I'm home....after work, dinner and soccer practice tonight!

For everyone who asked...yes, they normally DO inform us ahead of time to "dress" for interviews/guests. Since I wasn't there Tuesday, nobody called or emailed me. The other gal didn't know either (and she talked to the office mgr. 3x yesterday!) , but the 2 guys in our office knew....so, I don't get it..... SO, I get back to work this afternoon after coming home to change. The bosses (who were leaving for a meeting as I was pulling in this morning) still weren't back yet! They probably don't even know I left to go home and change :confused3 Anyhow, the interview we all had to look nice for.....never showed up! AND, yep, you guessed it....they were so busy telling us about their meeting, never got a chance to meet about the raise I asked for :headache: .....maybe tomorrow

Okay...the other "big" news today in House of Bubba is..........we got our passports in the mail today We applied 4 weeks ago tomorrow (Thurs)...NOT bad...definately thought it'd take more time than that! Guess they hired more peeps.....

Lori...please let us know Ally's reaction to the tickets..... you will be ALL THAT! I checked out those spider webs :scared1: unbelieveable!!! OMG!!!! I'd keep away....granted, spiders are smaller than us...but, they outnumber us there!

Well, continued good luck with the raise. So glad the passports came in!!!! Maybe I will get a chance to tell Ally about the tickets. I'll let you know how it goes.

All done packing!

Have to wake up early tomorrow cause we are leaving at 5:30 am:scared:

Oh...and we have also decided to add Hershey Park to our trip :woohoo: !!
Have a fabulous trip.

No, my sister is a b**ch and won't let her see me....THAT is ONE of MANY reasons my sister is disowned! :snooty: (She only lives less than 1/2 hour away)

Wow, sorry to hear that. Maybe some day she will realize the erroe of her ways.

I've enjoyed seeing everyone's wedding photos!

Would love to see your pics too!

day 2 is up.....

just so you know we are boring.....

SHARON!

keep you fingers crossed! our first yard sale ever is this saturday. it is supposed to rain........
I promised him we would have one this year.....
I have never done this before....:scared:

If it is nice sunday i may head done to Kittery to the outlet shops:rolleyes1

I will head over there later today and check out your trip. I am sure your are not boring, cause you sure aren't here!

Goo luck with the garage sale.

We'll see. :rolleyes1

Let me know how the whole exercise thing goes. I hate having to give up sleep time but agree that sometimes that is the only way to get it in.

I just have to vent this one out....

Yesterday, we had our school Pep Rally...

Not gonna lie, it's kinda dull. But it is for the kids and it is important to them, as well it should be. Anyways, the audience (meaning the kids that weren't on sports) were so disrespectful!!!

During the kickline routine, the kids were throwing paper balls onto the ym floor. Then, someone decided to set one of the pieces of paper on fire! In the bleachers with hundreds of kids around! :scared1: That was put out quickly.

But to top it off, someone decided to be cute and turn off the lights in the gym. it takes 20 min. for them to come back on. It was ridiculous...so dissappointing.

Thanks for letting me vent.

You know I just don't what kids are thinking sometimes. Come vent whenever you feel the need.

Last spring when our boys lost (or got demolished in) the state championship baseball game one of the football players text messaged all of them, before they had even loaded the bus, and told them they were a bunch of loosers, a disgrace to the school and a bunch of other crap.

Now this was not a normal loss since the night before we had lost our friends in a car wreck while they were on their way home from another bball game. The boys had all found out that morning about the wreck and then had to go try to play a game. Of course their hearts & minds just were in it, they were with the family as they should have been. I was upset that they din't reschedule unde the circumstances but with all the rain we had the turny was alread over a week behind schedule. I just could not believe that this kids I had always thought was super nice would do such a thing. Would not have blamed the boys if the whole team had gone and found him that night after they got home and gave him a lesson in decency! :rolleyes1

Tricia - glad you are feeling better.

Sharron - hope all is going weel with your mom. Keep us posted on her too.

Does anyone know much about computers? This thing is driving me nuts! It keeps over writing things, or all of a sudden starts typing in the middle of a something I have already typed. Yesterday & today both after going through and responding to everyone I have quoted it has all disappeared! It is taking me forever to even respond to youse guys! Anyone know why it is doing this??????:confused3

Hi all-
I'm having a hard time catching up, that I didn't get to read a few pages a few days ago I missed, oh well.

Anyways, I think some of you talked about destination weddings a couple of days back? Or weddings in general. DH and I are going to a family wedding, leaving tomorrow night. The step-neice of DH is getting married on Saturday. We are leaving tomorrow evening, after Don gets off of work, to get to our destination hotel for 2 nights. The wedding is a 3 hr drive for us, in Galena, IL. So leaving tomorrow evening and won't be back until Sunday afternoon. My parents offered to watch the kids for the 2 days. They will be with them at my parents house. Bride's parents live about half hour away from me.
Groom's parents and siblings live in North Dakota, so they will be flying here.
So I will be busy with that this weekend. Still need to pack and do some stuff I didn't do yest.

Oh, talking about destination weddings, 2 yrs ago one of my younger cousins(she was 20 yrs old) got married in Arizona. None of us from the family went!
My mom's sister's daughter got married 2 yrs ago. We hardly see my aunt(my mom's sister). We see her maybe once a yr, since she lives in southern Missouri. My cousin(that got married) and I were never close b/c she never lived around me. She lived all over the country, b/c my uncle(her dad) is in the military, so they move every 3 or 4 yrs. Since the wedding was in AZ, it was on the bottom of the mountains(the destination wedding part). We couldn't afford the airfare and nobody wanted to flip the bill for airfare to go to her wedding. My mom didn't even go, as she wasn't going to pay for her own airfare and hotel. The bride and my aunt and uncle didn't want to flip the bill for at least airfare, so none of us went.
I think about 30 people showed up total to cousin's wedding. Mostly groom's family and groom's extended family showed up and a couple of my aunt's friends that live a state or two away. And a couple of co-workers of my cousin and the groom's may have showed up.

Anyways, this wedding DH and I are going to, at least it is drivable and will be getting discounted rates on the hotel room.

I think some of you asked about DH's job. He is still working as a temp. at the same place. The recruiter from hte temp agency recently said it can take about a month or more to go perm. I don't know why the wait? :confused3
DH will be working a month there this coming Monday or Tues. It looks like about half or more of the company is off today for Roshashana(sp). There are only about 10 employees, so about 6 or 7 are off today for the holiday. DH is there at work today, as we are not Jewish. I did grow up in a jewish neighborhood tho, so I understand somewhat being off.
Mac- I grew up in Skokie, from when I was 4 yr old til I was 13. You were probably wondering where I grew up at.
Back to the job, the recruiter has been getting great feedback from the CEO of the co. about Dh's job performance. So we shall see when they offer the permanent position, as DH is trying to patiently wait, too.

Edited to add: I won a Veggie Tales DVD from KLOVE radio station! KLove is a christian radio station, if none of you have heard about the station. I entered the contest online on the KLOVE website.
I didn't even know I won it, until it showed up in my mail yest! My kids love VeggieTales! We have most of the videos and DVDs.
Wish I can win a trip. Never won a trip yet of any sweepstakes or contests I entered. Hopefully someday win a trip.

Good morning, or whatever the flip it is ... I am coming off midnights and was supposed to take a nap this morning to adjust back to awake time with the rest of the living. Could I? NO. So, I am off to drag my sorry, fat behind for some pampering to relax (who doesn't love a good pedi?). Then I am going to order a BIG, FAT, greasy pizza with meatballs and extra cheese, a big, fat antipasto with no mushrooms, and open a 1997 bottle of Opus One I've been saving just because I can. Hmmppph.. If anyone wants to join me and doesn't mind that we have clothes strewn throughout the house (when I'm on midnights and Mike is on a different tour we undress wherever we are and throw our clothes wherever), you're all welcome to join my fat, tired, sorry butt. I am too old to be changing tours so often.

Congrats on the job, Marcie.

Have fun at the wedding, Rose!

I'll catch up on everything later so if I missed something or someone, I didn't mean to.

Tricia- sorry to hear the news about your sister. I will pray for her
Glad you are feeling better from the intestinal infection you have :thumbsup2

Jodie and Sharon- enjoyed both of your wedding pix! :flower3:

marciemi- Congrats on the job! Hope it all work out well for you :thumbsup2

Bubba's mom- sorry to hear about the hectic week you had already :scared: :sad2: Hope your week gets better :)

Hi to all :wave2:

What kind of engineering degree is your DS considering? DH is a mechanical engineer, although these days he sure wishes he had done petroleum!
Probably a dumb question but why petroleum? DS is considering either Chemical (which I guess would include petroleum?) or aerospace.

Does anyone know much about computers? This thing is driving me nuts! It keeps over writing things, or all of a sudden starts typing in the middle of a something I have already typed. Wow, sounds like your computer is possessed! Sorry I can't help help you. Maybe a virus?

Melissa, I am so sorry if you took my $60 question the wrong way. I asked because I was oblivious. Not because I think it's a flip amount for a bra. I live in sports bras. What do I know?

Oh gosh, no. I didn't take it the wrong way at all. I apologize if my reply seemed hateful. I didn't mean it that way. I meant it as funny. I guess I should've added a couple of smilies...like this... :rotfl: :goodvibes She just does not like to spend much money on herself, so for her to pay $60 for a bra was a lot.

No apology necessary...

Wow, sounds like your computer is possessed! Sorry I can't help help you. Maybe a virus?

Well, petroleum because with the way things are with oil right now & as many wells as there are being dug here in Oklahoma we could be rolling in money from a consulting job part time if he had that background as well. Of course the petroleum degree is one of those that could be to cyclical. When the oil business is booming it would be great but when it busts again in a few years it would be terrible. When he was choosing his major he was considering petroleum but his uncle told him he should choose another area because the oil industry was going to bust. Sure enough by the time he graduated the boom was over.

I think there is a difference in petroleum & chemical, but of course I am not sure. From what I understand electrical is really good. FIL is an aerospace engineer. He actually worked on the Apollo projects way back when.

Unfortunately this computer has done this since day one. It takes me forever to post!

Hey guys - hope everyone is doing well. I've almost given up on trying to keep up with this thread - you guys know how to chat!!

I did see some of the wedding pictures - they were great!

Has anyone been watching the Today show today? I'm at work, so I haven't seen if my friend, Jennifer was on yet.

But the people.com website already has her makeover pics on it. I thought that wasn't going to happen until Friday. So, head over to the website and see her big transformation! Part of the video of her shopping is funny - she about passes out over paying $60 for a bra!

Ok, gotta get back to work - Thanks!
Melissa

I just checked out the site & story. Jennifer looked fabulous. What a great story.

melissa - i'm the queen of the outlets:banana: , don't think i've EVER spent more than $20 on a bra:confused3 . I'm a sports/all cotton type of "minimizer" kind of gal (comes from sports & living in a house of men;) ). Only time i wear fancy lingerie is for entertainment...hee-hee

lori - did your house have The World According to Jim on last night, lots of double entrendees flying about (yet very funny); not sure how it passed the censors. I don't watch much network tv so i can't really say...

barb - u hit the jackpot on the passports!

rvgal - i'm taking yesterday's roast chicken & making chicken salad w/dried cranberries - nummy! tomorrow is halupki day (think i'll start the long prep tonight); then DH clamoring for my beef veg. soup the next day. Bought 2 turkeys to cook on the weekend. Apparently, all we do is eat.:confused3

rose - i luv hearing the wedding tales

mac - where ya' been?

jodie - that thread's still simmering over on the transportation thread :lmao: enjoy your day's off, only Opus i know, looks like he's on vacation!
