Okay, stop freaking me out with the pregnant thing. Let me just say that it is HIGHLY unlikely. Not completely impossible, but HIGHLY unlikely.

The Fast Pass article that was out a year or two ago was about a different patent. Disney applies for those patents all the time. What was unique about this one, as this article states, is that Disney has specifically patented a Fast Pass system with a graduated access to them based on staying onsite and based on the level of onsite room (deluxe, moderate or value). Does that mean that Disney will ever implement the system? Who knows. :confused3

And, yeah, Jodie... what Barb said... about the TR thing... popcorn::

Hey Lori! Don't try to catch up. Just hit the ground running. :)

Barb tell Bubba I said, "Good Luck and Go Get 'em!" Not that he needs luck 'cause he looks like he could already kick my butt. :rolleyes1

Barb - Good luck to Bubba on his testing. Ally will be 9 on Dec. 23rd. What day is Bubba's b'day? I knew they were close in age but not that close.

Ya know, I never had problems with the two older kids not liking school. They actually had to try. These two though never have to put in any effort to get their grades and are just bored. Add to that the fact that neither of them are morning people and you have two kids that don't want to go. Both of them want to home school but I don't have it in me to do that. Can you imagine starting to home school a kid when he is a sophomore in high school? Yesterday morning Ally made up a song about how much she disliked school. I told her that was a great attitude to start the day with.

Tricia - I will have to just start hitting the ground running when I miss a couple of days. Trying to catch up and comment on everything is just not gonna happen.

Okay, I got day 3 of the trip report up:

Trip Report Day 3 - AK

Tricia - not to sound argumental, but that's exactly what the link I read about a year ago was saying. FP's done the night before for those staying onsite, probably more priority for those with higher $$ accommodations. I'd actually heard rumors about it on returning from our trip in 2005, but know it's been a year or so since someone posted a similar article from I think the same newspaper. If I get motivated I'll try to find it in my old posts!

Ryan was born 1-20-99 (his actual DUE date) and he loves school. He is very "book smart" (common sense...eh, not so much) and doesn't usually have to put much effort into "studying". He is in 3rd grade this year and I cannot remember a spelling test he got any words wrong on....(I'm good at the spelling, DH at the math)... Last year his teacher had him reading a "hard" 4th grade book at home (it was a little confusing [to follow the story] for me, let alone him) but, he read it very well. His teacher last year was "challenging" him all year and it really paid off. We meet this years teacher 2 weeks from Monday, be interesting to see what she says :scratchin We keep tellin' him that he has to learn all he can to get into a good college. (We already are paying for college [1.5yrs paid, 2.5 to go :sad2: ] and he knows it.) Once in college, you get a good edumacation, a good job, marry a good girl, buy a beautiful house, have my grandkids ;) and take care of Mom & Dad when we are too old to do it for ourselves.... Kind of like "I fed you, now you'll have to feed me" :rotfl: (actually, we tell him he has to find us a good home that people will take good care of us in) It's actually quite comical when we have this conversation, but it always ends with us stressing how important it is to learn in skool. Oh....you asked how old he was??? :rotfl: (I was commenting on the "i hate skool" thing..... good luck with that :thumbsup2

Very funny... NOT!
Don't tease a 41 year old woman that spent one morning last week cleaning up poop off the kitchen floor. :rotfl2:

Marcie - I wasn't arguing. Disney took out a new patent on Wednesday. Must be something different about the technology or the explantion of access to them, or they wouldn't have taken out a new patent. That's all I know. No need to dig up old posts and compare. It doesn't really matter to me one way or the other. Disney takes out hundreds of patents that they do nothing with. This may or may not be one of them.

I seem to be improving, I think. I hope. I'm going to try to eat something. Keep your fingers crossed.

First of all, I want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to mac for sending me only the funniest care package EVER!

Really, the ME trip report would be very boring:

Managed to drive 360 miles on Thursday in about 5 hours 50 minutes. Stopped at the NH St liquor store (does that surprise ANYONE?). Seriously, you do not pay tax on liquor in NH, and it is very reasonable there, compared to NJ. Bought a childhood friend a nice gift set of the 1998 Perrier Jouet Fleur de Champagne Glass Set. I love him, but I do not trust him to splurge for something other than Korbel (barf) on his wedding night. We are not going to the wedding (we weren't invited, but are glad we weren't invited, if you know what I mean ... it's in the city, with a morning wedding in a church, and they are having a small and simple luncheon afterwards with no dancing. Just not our thing, as that would require us getting up before noon on a Saturday, and we don't really do lunch. Happy Hour, yes. Lunch, no.)

Arrived in Maine just before 3:30, in time to go to the Wharf http://www.arundelwharf.com/ . Went to the Kennebunk Inn for dinner where we had Lobster Pizza and Nachos. The chefs at the Kennedrunk catered our wedding, and we bought out their Inn for our wedding guests. We had a trolley pick everyone up and take them to the wedding so no one had to drive and everyone was happy and nicely liquored up. Since Brian and Shanna (Inn owners/chefs) were the ones who suggested the trolley and that was an awesome idea, I have come to love them dearly. Plus, they are wickedly good chefs. Anyone going to the Kbunk area should definitely look them up! http://www.kennebunkinn.com

Friday was more of the Wharf. Followed by yet another delectable dinner at the Kennedrunk.

Saturday, can you guess where we spent the afternoon? Then we had a phenomenal dinner at Stripers at the Breakwater: http://www.thebreakwaterinn.com/Con...ort-restaurant-restaurants-dining-seafood.seo
If you are lucky enough to go to Stripers, I highly recommend just about anything at all on their menu, but I even more highly recommend the whiskey (a bit sour & up) if their bartender Linda is working that night. If Linda is working, and you want to go on the wild side, ask her to make you a "Conan's Night Cap." My BIL decided that was an appropriate name for the drink since after 2 of those and at about 1 in the morning, I decided I was highly entertaining. This is 2 parts Jameson's and 1 part Irish Mist over ice. Not recommended for total lightweights.

Sunday: I'll give you 3 guesses where we spent the afternoon, and the first 2 don't count. Sunday night, we had the obligatory cookout, and then celebrated Bailey's 10th birthday with hot dogs and cupcakes. Bailey is our adorable black lab "niece." This was a special birthday, because her brother Sherman passed away just after his 10th birthday this year in April. Sherman was dearly, dearly loved. He and Bailey were one litter apart from the same mom and dad.

Monday: Why fix what ain't broken? Guess where we spent the afternoon? Then we had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Cape Arundel: http://www.capearundelinn.com/ There is a always a wonderful piano player in the restaurant, and we regularly tip big and request old favorites like The Carpenters and the Rainbow Connection. This is usually after 2 (ok, maybe 3) cocktails and a bottle (or 2) of wine with dinner. Honestly, it is worth going there for the home made sour dough bread alone. Really, phenomenal crab cakes, scallops, salmon, lobster risotto. Oh, and they have steak too, but who eats steak in Maine? Why bother?

Tuesday, we drove home, with a pit stop at the NH St Liquor Store. Hmmpphh. Wonder why we did that again?

Highlights? The food, our family, the weather, the Wharf, what could be better?

Lowlights? Seem to have run into a problem with old men forgetting to lock the bathroom door and me inadvertently walking in on them peeing.

Pics would be coming, but not sure they're exactly meant for a family board.

Hi Tricia (BTW, hope you're feeling better!).

Once was an old man at the Wharf who was in the LADIES room! Idiot. One of the reasons I love the Wharf so much is that it has 2 Ladies room and one men's room. Idiot couldn't use his own men's room, and then forgot to LOCK the DOOR????? And he wasn't senile either. More of a silver fox type. I heard him on his cell phone and he was some sort of high flying business man. Probably thought he was 2 kewl for the Men's room ....

The second time was at Cape Arundel. It's a very quaint Inn, and they have a single person Unisex bathroom. So, it's very simple. YOU LOCK THE DOOR UPON ENTRY. This guy was a bit older and was at the table next to us. He looked like a bachelor taking out two of his older lady friends. Felt sort of bad for him, but I did have a laugh after I walked in on him as it was the 2nd time it happened to me in 2 days. I went to have a laugh about it with the lady working reception, but she would have none of me and told me there was a second bathroom upstairs. Hmppph.

:yay: thanks for the way kewl trippie Jodie....sounds like y'all ate well (since that's mostly what you reported)....oh, and i can't see the first pic...dunno why? :confused3 I can see all the other links.... Oh, and I would be that person who goes to Maine and eats steak.... :rolleyes1 Looking forward to some pictures....

Forgot I need some help from Mac & Rose.

My sister is going to be in the Chicago area for a convention on the Navy Pier the end of the month. I need to find a good place for her to stay. She does not mind driving 30 minutes or so each way to get there. Of course she does not want an expensive place, she is a motel 6 or Days Inn kinda girl! We just need a safe area. Any suggestions?
Lori, there is a hotel called Cass Hotel, located in downtown Chicago, on the Magnificent Mile(Mag Mile), where all the shopping is in downtown Chicago.
That hotel is now part of Holiday Inn Express. I have never been there nor stayed there, but I heard it is somewhat inexpensive compared to the other hotels in downtown Chi town.
website is www.casshotel.com I also heard it books up very quickly, so not sure if any rooms are avail for when your sister is going to be there.

You also could try to stay in Schaumburg(northwest suburb of Chi town) I live in Schaumburg! We have tons of hotels! It would take a good hour each way commuting to where your sister's convention is tho.Schaumbrg is right off the major highways that takes you to downtown.

Hope this helps somewhat!
