Okay, I only got this far before I got lost! :rolleyes1 What globe? Where do I find this globe? Thanks for helping us non-tech-savvy folks!

I don't know what "globe" he is talking about either...but if you "quote" my last post and find where my pictures are, you will get visual guidance. What I did was this: copy and paste your IMG to your text. Replace the in the beginning with: (no spaces--->) [ u r l =
and the end [IMG] with . In your picture link, look for the .jpg
After the "g" in it, put a bracket like this: ] ...so it looks like this: .jpg]

Now after that bracket in .jpg] put the text you want to describe you picture. After your text for that, should be your

Does that help? (Like I said, quote my last post and look at how I did my picture)

I'm not sure how much I've said about DS15's back either. Several weeks ago, just at a practice, he came home from soccer saying that his back really hurt. It kept hurting, so a few days later he went and saw the trainer, who basically told him to rest it a couple days. After another week plus, it still hadn't gotten any better and his coach told him to go to the doctor. Unfortunately the doctor he recommended was off for the rest of the week (last Thu), so we saw another doc instead.

This guy said that he'd pulled a muscle and that he needed to rest it COMPLETELY - do NOTHING for a week - only some stretches he gave him but no running, no bending, no anything. Completely freaked DS out, saying things like "if you do anything, your back may never recover". Well, DS did that Thursday through Tuesday, skipped 2 soccer games (this was ruining his life) and felt NO better.

So I called and got in with the first doctor yesterday, who basically told us everything the first doc said was wrong. DS's muscles were fine, they took x-rays, and his spine was somehow out of alignment. Basically, if your spine is like a zipper, it got "zipped" wrong and missed a tooth and a couple of the bones are shifted into the wrong place. It was really weird - he put 2 fingers on the small of DS's back, one on each side, and had DS bend over. One finger moved about 2 inches - the other not at all. So all his bending, etc., is completely stressing just one side of his back.

So apparently the solution is physical therapy to work the back into the right place. We had our first session today which went well. Doc also has him on large amounts of Naproxin (sp?) to relax the muscles around the spine and allow it to shift back, while the first doc adamantly refused to allow him any meds. Rest doesn't make a difference and DS can go back to playing tomorrow. Of course now DS is furious that he skipped 2 games that he didn't have to - especially since his team lost their first game of the season 4-3 on Tuesday. And of course he KNOWS that if he'd been able to play that they would won! ;)

Okay, I'm sorry - I guess I'm just too stupid to be on this thread! Well, wait, at least I'm not drunk! I guess I'm just stuck copying and pasting the links and it won't be pretty like other folks!

This may help. :)

Gemma - you had better get some anti seasickness medicine. If you get on the boat hungover, it may intensify your nausea. Have a safe trip and report in when you can, ok?  We will miss you!!

I think I can figure out about half of that. :lmao: Gemma, you will be missed for the next few weeks. Especially since I want to know what the heck pea cider is. :lmao:

tricia - sorry for you, get a good rest (hard to do w/little ones @ home).

Thanks. I'm still not at my best this morning. These things usually run their course in 24 hours or so, right? I'm watching the clock. :bored:

OK official count...2 down, 178 more to go!

I gotta start putting up some more pics.

Those are great pictures from the water. I've never done the sea raycers. Have to add it to my list for the future!

Tricia...too much wine, eh girl? :rolleyes1 j/k...hope your belly is better soon....as awful as it feels, it is nice to be taken care of once in a while

As far as the fundraisers go...we are told not to do door to door also. We don't take it into work either because of the "if I buy from you, you feel obligated to buy from me" thing...altho, Mom will buy, we will too, maybe a couple of my close customers (that are like family to me)....but, not going all out. I would rather donate the money also...OR send a box of tissues, or buy snacks for the parties, etc... I'd much rather "pitch in" that way, then sell this stuff..... the school would get ALL the money if I just donated my time, "gifts" and money, rather than "share" with the fundraiser people ;) And, I agree with ya Jodie when it comes to the taxes...our taxes doubled in the 13 years we've lived here...so, I know we pay boo-koo in taxes, but that goes to the bus system, salaries, etc....guess not much left FOR the KIDS...(altho, I do the Box Top thing like crazy to help 'em...mof, we're getting a new playground at the school) :thumbsup2

Tracie...how'd your date w/ Mr. Bag go  Hope you "fed" him plenty! ;) (Been doing that a lot around here lately myself!) AND, you're going to complain about getting the big screen tv? I wouldn't....get the tv, THEN work on the trip :thumbsup2

damo....unless you check in here morning, (maybe mid-day-ish) and the evening, you miss a lot.....hard to go back and catch up.....just haveta go with the flow.... but, it doesn't matter, just jump in anywhere

Oh, and speaking of Hummerzine Limos..... remember last summer when we went to UO for the first time (well, our 2nd, Bubba's first)? ...the trip I didn't do a report for? :rolleyes1 ...... Well, to make it special, we hired a Hummerzine Limo to pick us up at MCO, grocery stop and take us to RPR...... Ryan w/ limo and Ryan IN the limo and another pic of Bubba. It was cool, expensive (even with the discount I got), but SO totally worth the look on his face!!!! :thumbsup2 (Told him that's it tho...had a stretch limo for his first trip to WDW, and the Hummerzine for first time at UO....just towncars from now on)

Speaking of WDW, I read that article Todd (thanks for posting) and I agree...I'm sure the Disney peeps are gonna be  . Funny tho, how it mentioned: Isn't this the same thing they complain about for onsite guests at Universal? Universal has got it, and Disney wants it....but, Disney is too big and is trying desperately to figure out a way to get it..... Till they don't have hour+ waits in the summer at Disney, my money is going to UO....but, I don't have to "sell" that to you guys....

It is nice to be taken care of, but now I'm on my own again. I don't know what this bug is, but it isn't fun. One of the guys that works for us has it too. Brad sent him home yesterday because he realized that the guy was dehydrated. The guy was out washing trailers and Brad noticed that he wasn't sweating. Not a good sign when doing physical labor in the sun.

Yes, I would rather donate my time, money, or supplies directly to the school than sell the stupid fund raiser stuff. Then the school wouldn't have to share a major cut with the fund raising company. I already donated everything that was on the supply list at the start of school (which included 2 boxes of Kleenex). It wasn't a short list either. Here's a pic of Joshua standing with the bag of "requested supplies" on the first day of school:
JoshuaCar.jpg

I bought the stuff on sale at K-Mart and it still cost me $50.

Great pics of the Hummerzine! It looks like Bubba really enjoyed that. Those are the splurges that are worth it.

I read the article Todd posted too (thanks from me too, Todd). I had the same reaction. Of course, Disney takes out patents all the time and sits on them for years without doing anything... but isn't it interesting that they have given themselves the *option* of rewarding guests based on staying onsite and on the amount of money spent to stay onsite. :scratchin

Oh, and I meant to add that DS15 finally got his permit today:

Yeah for the permit!

O my IM DYING!!

Poor thing! Hurry back online so you can tell us all about the new place and university and all that! :goodvibes

Testing my link - bear with me! ;)

Trip Report Day 2 Now Posted

Edited to add - Wow! I did it! Woo Hoo! Thanks Dark Marauder!

:woohoo: Marcie! :woohoo:

Happy Friday Everyone!

Joshua came home all excited yesterday. He said, "Mommy! I'm the student of the month!" My heart swelled with pride and I said, "That's wonderful baby! I'm so proud of you! What does that mean exactly?" He replied, "I dunno" and shrugged his shoulders. :rotfl2:

Well guys and gals, I'm not at my best today, so I don't know how much I'll be around. Brad is trying to convince me to go to the doctor. For a stomach bug? He's just going to tell me to take OTC stuff and ride it out. :sad2:

TGIF:banana: , luv these short weeks!

friday night lights:cheer2: , go WOLVES!

i still don't get the globe, terminal blondness; perhaps if i walked thru it; a hands-on kinda gal.

tricia - that's a mighty big bag! evidently, they hit you early & often:sad2: congrats to the student of the month (Aug or Sept?); start that scrapbook/memory box!

gemma - got headache? drink lots of H2O

:lmao: okay....milk spit everywhere... Very cute! Ya know...about the "bein' pregnant" thing.... you HAVE had a lot of wine recently (not as much as Gemma tho ... apparently), and you HAD been "workin' "the boss ;) ) :scratchin ...it just might be possible :rolleyes1 :duck: But, if it's not what you want.... feel better soon.

Anyone found a thread "over there" regarding the newspaper article on the FP for Disney? Please link if you do find one.

Janet...good luck at the eye docs...oh, and I asked my "office" job for a raise (should know middle of next week). I make quite a commission at the salon (and fyi: just commission and tips, no hourly salary)...so, I work 2 part time jobs, 3 days a week each (yes, you figured correct, I work 6 days a week :headache: )

Sharon....you're welcome...hope it helps. I can't do it DM's way...too much extra stuff I haveta do...I'll do it my way.

Marcie....don't have your DS with the bad back ride in the car the newly permitted DS driving :scared: (but, best of luck to 'em both)

Okay...time to eat....i'm hungry. Bubba has blackbelt midterm testing tonite and I took tomorrow off for his first soccer game in the morning :thumbsup2 (won't make any money tomorrow, but gotta show my boy I'm there for him)...and I think my Mom AND my grandpop are coming too... (My Pop is 91 yo and lives in Phila. He used to play pro soccer as a young man and doesn't usually 'get a ride' up this way to watch Bubba do his activities...so, we are all looking forward to it!)

check ya's later...hope you feel better soon Tricia!

Marcie....don't have your DS with the bad back ride in the car the newly permitted DS driving :scared: (but, best of luck to 'em both)

Unfortunately DS with the bad back and DS with the permit are one and the same kid! :rotfl: Other kids have been whining because with all the shuttling I'm doing of DS15, they keep getting stuck riding their bikes home from school, soccer, etc.

I know, I know - everyone say "poor babies!" Although it's been really hot here - broke the record Wed with 92 degrees - a bit warm for Green Bay in September! Today it's time to build the ark - it's been POURING all morning. Again a bit unusual for here!

Oh, and everyone throw some mummy and/or pixie dust for DS14 who's spent the last 3 days auditioning for the high school play and going to 4 callbacks for different roles. He REALLY wants to be in it and I REALLY hope he does get in - he doesn't want or expect a lead, just to be a part of it! (Can't find a "fingers crossed" smiley for here!)

Hey everyone. You know if I am gone for more than a day it is impossible to get caught back up. Sooo, I'm not even gonna try to catch everything. I will hit on what I can remember and go ahead and apologize upfront for anything I miss.

Rose - so sorry about the bus mess. It took me a while to figure the whole thing out, our school system operates our busses, not some outside company. Then again, I also live in a small town, and can't imagine having my kids in that big of a school. The thought is ver scary!

Katie - I haven't seen all of the pics yet, will go back to look them all over, but what I have seen are terrific!!! And good luck aat school!

Gemma - take it easy and be safe. Good luck on your school year too!

Marcie - sorry to hear about the permit. At least now we are in it together! Michael will be 16 October 19th.

Tricia - hope you are all better now, and not preggo! That museum you took the boys too looks like lots of fun!

Now as for fundraisers - I hate them. I wish our school system would also send a note along with them letting people know they can just donate so much money instead of the selling. That would be so much easier for everyone involved.

And the article in the sentinel is interesting. Janet surely they would also give that perk to DVC members too, don't ya think? Personally I have always wished they would do something so that you could get FP's for different rides at the same kiosk instead of having to go across the park to get them for different rides. I loved it when you had several to choose from @ Universal back when they had EP machines in the parks. I'm not sure how you will be able to get them through a cell phone though?

So hear is what's been going on around here; Michael starts fall baseball next Tuesday & Ally starts soccer for the first time ever a week from tomorrow. The lake was nice. Had a great visit with dad & my aunt & uncle. Have a family reunion this Sunday. Both kids already hate school. It's gonna be a great year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi to everyone else. Happy b'day to those I missed. I think it was Katie & Rose!!

Talk to you all later!

Bubba's Mom (is your name Tracie?) - so how old is Bubba? He looks so young in the pics! Black belt?! Wow - he must be really good! DS14 was into karate for awhile and got about 4 belts and I know the level he was working on was a kind of pre-brown belt, but that all took years. I'm impressed!

Keisha - when I get my next installment done and try to post a day 3 link I'll see if I can list the steps I used if by chance it works again!

Katie - I keep meaning to say how much I love your pics! The River Country one made me sad. Not because it was that great of a park but I just have good memories of taking the kids there when they were little and even going there myself when I was around 12. Just sad to see it all abandoned now! :sad1:

Regarding the article on FP's - someone posted a link to that on the WDW side probably at least a year ago. Not sure why it's making news again now. I was really afraid they were going to suddenly change their policy before our trip since we were staying offsite and am glad we missed the changes (if they do happen) at least!

Tricia - get better soon! How are you coping with the little guy while feeling so bad? That was always the worst part of being sick and home with kids who couldn't understand!

Forgot I need some help from Mac & Rose.

My sister is going to be in the Chicago area for a convention on the Navy Pier the end of the month. I need to find a good place for her to stay. She does not mind driving 30 minutes or so each way to get there. Of course she does not want an expensive place, she is a motel 6 or Days Inn kinda girl! We just need a safe area. Any suggestions?

Lori...welcome back....(sorry to hear the kids hate school already :guilty: ) ....been quiet without you around....and it's quiet without Penny around too...ain't it??

Marcie....tlinus is Tracie, I'm Barb and Bubba (Ryan) is son. He will be 9 in January and got his 1st degree blackbelt last September (age = 8.5) He wants his 2nd degree now, so, tonite's testing is his 1/2 way point. He should test and receive his 2nd degree blackbelt this time next year (age = 9.5). He's been doing TaeKwonDo since he was a couple months older than 4 ( I know ... ) ...but, lemme tell ya, the kid is FIT!!! :thumbsup2 He really does enjoy going...altho, he doesn't practice much at home, he knows what he's doing in class. I will try to get DH to get me video to post, as my pix usually come out dark :guilty: (they test their 3 schools in one gymnasium, so, we sit far away from them, unlike at school).

Guess Penny will be back w/ her TR soon....where's your Jodie?? :rolleyes1 Oh, and whatever happened with yer door? :confused3
