'Body finally in motion' is what i got today :rotfl: ...no skool today...so, slept in :cool1:

Looking forward to this weekend...having off Monday is :woohoo: (have 2 days off this weekend instead of 1!) So, now i have some time to clean up the house and get a couple of things done. One of them is go return the house keys i had made at Walmart and now i have to go to Home Depot and get them made, because apparently Walmart cannot make a key that works :confused3 ...oh well....

Happy Friday homies!!

Went to the Phillies game yesterday afternoon with DH. What a game :faint:

No big plans for the weekend, lots of :laundy: and various other chores to get done. Need to make sure the kids are ready for their first full day on Tuesday

Hate to disappoint, but we are making a trip to the "pixie dust" side of Orlando - but you can believe I will give you a trippie!! Still trying to iron out dates, but does anyone know how the week after thanksgiving is? How about the 2nd week of December? (I know the first week is Pop Warner week or something like that - can't handle all those :cheer2: :cheer2:) Please do not take offense to that statement if you participate.....just don't think I could be around that many at one time ;)

barb & tricia - glad to hear you got some.....maybe sometime this century I won't fall asleep before the mood rolls around :rotfl2:

mac - how is skool? how are the kids in your class this year?

lori -   hope things work out for you. Write that letter and see what happens.

Marcie - once again, wonderful pictures!!! :thumbsup2

Todd - can you give me anidea about the timeframes above?^^^ I know the weather is different, but in your experience, how are the crowds?

Gemma - we need some more PUI from you! You had me laughing so hard :rotfl: oh, and :rotfl: GO, N.I.!!!!!!

jodie, have a great vacation, need to see pictures from Maine, never been there - one of the places on the list of "Places to See before I you-know-what"

penny - stop unpacking! you are making too much work for yourself, silly goose!!

janet -

to anyone I have not personally addressed, please forgive me, I just read 10 pages and my brain is mushy now - time for some more coffee :surfweb:

tracie..... I saw the Phils' win on the news hilights  talk about a close one! :rolleyes1 didn't know you was there....a beautiful day, good game, good beer (i'm guessin') ....what more can you ask for?

Oh, and don't worry about going to that "other" park....we know where your heart lies ;)

I'm trying to catch up on some of the pages I didn't have time to read yesterday.

Mac - Yes, I got your PM and I hope you got my reply. Always happy to spread the mummy dust and help a homie.

Gemma - I hope your tummy troubles didn't develop into anything serious.

Tracie - How exciting that you get to make a trip to Orlando! I'd be happy with a trip to any of the parks at this point. I have no idea when our next vacation will be.

Barb - I will throw Brad's Pert Plus away while he isn't home and replace it with something else. Any suggestions for a 50 year old man with a slight thin spot on the back of the crown of his head? :rolleyes1

tracie - we've gone the 1st or 2nd week of Dec. several times

IMO, unless you're staying @ a Value; you won't notice Pop Warner participants

mousefest is the 1st week of the month too; never saw them either

it's a great time to go (osburne lights, MVMCP), seems to get more crowded every year though...missed '06 - went Columbus Day instead:scared: -busy.

FYI, UG indicates the week after Thanksgiving is the SLOWEST time ever...i told DH to ask for it off next year (he can fight the deer hunters at work for the time off lol).

called WDTC earlier this week jik i cancelled our cruise in Dec.-MYW promo pkg..all the values were booked for our days.:scared1: not sure about rack/AAA pkg rates or room only.

bye Penny, have tons of fun!

jodie's rubbing elbows with the Bush's by now.:thumbsup2

tricia - i've had the same dark thoughts for years lol

janet...you ARE still going on your cruise....right? (got a little worried when I saw the word "cancelled"....but, then i saw your jik)

Tricia...I would say Nioxin (but that's professional, but made for thinning hair)....OTC for thinning hair? I haven't a clue...unless you can find Nexxus OTC Diametress....that's for the thinning hair.

barb - so far, so good on the cruise; really hoping to be re-assigned to Progresso in lieu of Costa Maya...always wanted to climb the great pyramid of Chichen Itza. thus far only the Glory out of PC has received word that's where they're headed. Just found out DS is studying the Mayans in Social Studies too (makes writing that skool excuse easier - educational purposes ;) i usually fall back on Epcot's redeeming value each year. )

My time is getting 'nigh for that final pmt, adding Trip Insurance etc.

Finally, got ahold of Carnival PVP yesterday...convinced me not to jump ship from the Legend to the Glory..."nearly positive" we'll be going to Progresso too:rolleyes1 hope so, have reward airfare booked from TPA, nothing left this late date @ MCO - hate to lose those credits.

Evidently, once the schedule change is formally announced via an email, you have 24 hours to cancel & receive full refund; even if within the non-cancellable period...forgot to ask if we'll get back the TI too?

Okay, so by now you have probably figured out my profession :rolleyes1

Your stylist is probably putting a styling product in your hair before she is drying it....some kind of "defrizzing" product AND a mousse or gel or something like that. With thick curly/wavy hair, you tend to get the frizzies (because most natural wavy/curly hair is coarse), but add that you color, and it makes it worse. You need to use a moisturizing shampoo (professional is best, but if you MUST OTC, Nexxus is now OTC and try the Tresseme...I'm not real familiar with too many OTC brands because I stick to the professional stuff), leave in conditioner (for moisture, protection from heat of dryer and "weight" to keep the flyaways down), defrizzing agent and styling product (to keep the hairs "together" since coarse hair tends to fly all over the place and not stay "together"). I know it seems like a lot, but I can almost guarantee it's what your stylist is using. All you have to do is ask her what she is using (they most likely sell the same stuff they use)...I'm surprised she isn't trying to "sell" it to you by using and explaining it all to you. Hope that helps clear things up a bit for you.

you're hired.
i'll be at the shop at 1:00 on wednesday.......

my gal uses Redkin products. of course i bought the shampoo and conditioner from their salon. oh man, it set me back almost $33 for it.

Prell is an oldie but goodie...but how about "Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific"...or "Short and Sassy" with Dorothy Hamill as the spokesperson? :lmao:

i can tell you are 40.
i remember those commercials also.

That's it! Thanks. That's one of those things that would have nagged at my subconscious until I popped up in bed at like 3am screaming, "Body On Tap!"

looks like i'm not the only one that does that.
sometimes i can't sleep until i remember what it is that i couldn't remember earlier...

Happy Friday homies!!

Tuesday

- time for some more coffee :surfweb:

i am an addict to coffee also. love that coffee thingy in your siggie.

pop warner is dec 2 -7 this year i believe. i go to their site to make sure i am not there when they are. i stay at the value resorts and the food court is packed with the kids and groups for pw then. they are all nice, but hard to find a table for one when it is packed.

the week after thanksgiving is probably better crowd wise than mid december. it used to be a very low period but the weekend right after Turkey day does have the crowds. it slacks off on the following monday the past 2 years.

the week or few days right before christmas is packed. and you are in the high season rate then. i know dec 23 thru new years is crazy packed.
it is not a good time to go if crowds and long lines bother you.

Raven.......I use Redken at work too (on myself too) ...imho, better than Matrix, but Matrix is good.... uh, I don't work at the salon on Wednesdays...only Tues, Fri & Sat....but, you can still come visit me.... ;) :goodvibes

I'm beginning to think that I watch the Food Network too often...

They are soooo cute! :grouphug:
Do they have the "BAM" thing down? :rotfl:
Do you watch the show where the host goes into the supermarket and asks a female shopper if he can make a meal at her home? All the women fawn over him!

They were playing Iron Chef America.

The sick and/or funny part of it is, if I understood the conversations they were having with each other, the counting piggy bank was the "secret ingredient".

I've seen that show (Take Home Chef) a few times. The women do seem to fawn over that guy. I wonder how the husbands (or boyfriends) react after they see the cooking portion of those shows with all the flirty stuff.
:rolleyes1

Todd - can you give me anidea about the timeframes above?^^^ I know the weather is different, but in your experience, how are the crowds?
I think the others beat me to it. I love the weather that time of year but the crowds can get a little hairy with Pop Warner. I don't participate so no offense taken. :teeth:

i can tell you are 40. i remember those commercials also.
Yup...in the 40's but I have a mind like a steel trap.

Do you remember the Charlie commercials (I can bring home the bacon....) or the Jean Nate commercials with the female polo rider?

I also remember all these hair ads. How about "Gee, your hair smells terrific!"?

Tricia - we've been twice during Pop Warner week and never really had that much trouble. But we also didn't really have trouble with the Brazilian Tour Groups. I think it just take one bad experience to turn everyone off, and, of course, it's more likely that you'll get one during those times. I really think either of the weeks you're suggesting would be find, although through Thanksgiving Sunday, it will be packed.

Mac, we're still planning on heading up to 6 Flags tomorrow, but since exactly NONE of my kids' friends can come along (are we the only people not camping or going to a "cottage" this weekend?), it'll probably be a short visit. Thinking Superman, Raging Bull, then changing and hitting the waterpark, then heading up to Milwaukee for a late lunch (Mongolian Barbecue).

We won't have DS15 with us since he really hurt his back in soccer a couple weeks ago and finally caved in and went to the doc today who prescribed pretty much no activity for a week (so he's missing TWO games!) except for certain stretches. I'm thinking roller coasters and waterslides "might" not be the best following of those instructions so he's just going to relax at home.

If you want to come in the park, we could meet at the waterpark area, probably any time in the 11-1 range. Or we could meet you outside the park (you know, by the Subway or one of the hotels) more in the 1-2 range. Or if you've already made plans, I fully understand. Just let me know! If you want to PM me, I can give you DH's cell and/or get yours to make hooking up easier!

sorry todd, didn't see the shout out:guilty: , we must have been very lucky to miss them each year...

week before Pres. Day weekend into the the next week we got to deal with twirlers:scared1: and Daytona 500 crowd:sad2: the final push DH needed to buy DVC.;)

late june this year we saw "rope jumpers":confused3 must be a regional/urban thing...an organized sport? They did a demo @ MGM during SW weekend, adults & kids participated.
