Good morning, homies. It's such a crummy day here. I would like to know what happened to summer, please?

And, yeah, what's up with having to put me "in the system" and present my driver's license to buy Advil Cold & Sinus? Is there a national database that says I like to check out murder mysteries from the library and I buy potent cold medicine, therefore I should be put on some government watchlist? I cannot believe how long it takes to buy stupid cold medicine anymore...

Well, I have nothing new or good to report. Although I feel like I'm forgetting to do something. Then again, I don't really know what day it is, so what do I know?

Summer has been stuck here for the month of August. If you would please get a towtruck and pull it up your way, we would be most grateful.

the weathrr here in Maine has been bizzare since last week.....another one of those someone slammed the door and it is 70-75 out....severe thunderstorms possible today and tomorrow and HUMID and 85, but right back to 70-75 thru next week. last year, it was sooooooo freakin' humid when we got to Orlando, I was ready for it....now...I dunno....

ISN'T IT AWFULL- got some Rx stuff last week and the Pharmasist himself had to stop what he was doing and wait on a customer who wanted cold medicine and had to present ID and sign some paper and blah blah blah.......

next they wont sell hemmerhoid creme or bath soap without 2 forms of id.....

Jodie uh-oh, don't say the "T" word they might hear you...sux about HAL, might have to check that out if i fall into a vat of $. Figure we'll do another DCL when we are "empty nesters" just for the adult pool.

don't forget the people with multiple ADRs; and the ones who used to book phantom kids on the DP to use as adult credits. My DH is my personal Jimeny Cricket, keeps me reigned in. Not sure of the hub-bub on pool hopping @ Disney resorts? We have the perc via DVC & haven't used it once. way too tired to haul off to another resort. IMO, excluding SAB; all the pools are decent. One of my favs. is the AS Music with the 3 Caberellos.

Currently, Carnival is offering Key West in lieu of Costa Maya . Hope they step it up and announce what the sub will be until they fix the pier or I'm bailing...would just go to DL if we didn't have that "comped" night @ RPR

Has Todd checked in lately...maybe he has a hangover (which would mean he had a grrrrreat birthday).

KsStarfish - I finally went on the sea raycers, DS drove - bump, bump; did take lots of pics. Are you scouting out honeymoon spots.

kfish, good to see you checked in. don't you wish you could stay there longer? you can talk about disney here, we all are homies and know many homies like both places.
i do both places each year. it's like 2 different vacations when i go for 14 days.
next year, i will probably cut the disney time way down and push the universal stay way up. i am not pleased with the changes disney is doing for next year. i won't pay $100/night for a value room. but i will pay up the nose for hrh.

AND don't forget the people that stay offsite, but book a campsite in order to participate in the DDP. I even saw a thread started by a guy that went so far as to book a campsite every third night of his vacation, then went through the hassel of checking in/out 3 times during their stay. You get the DDP for the day of arrival and the day of checkout, so he was cutting it as close as he could. Okay, so what was Mr. El Cheapo renting offsite? A 5 bedroom HOUSE complete with Mickey shaped pool. Yeah, he really needed to save that extra $100...

I've never understood the pool hopping thing either. I think the baseball diamond in AS Sports is fun. I'm not going to drag my kids to another resort when we can walk to a nice pool from our room. There are SO many people at the WDW resorts, does it really matter which pool they use? Heaven forbid that one of the Value Resort people think that they can dip a toe in we-paid-more-for-our-room Moderate or Deluxe Resort water.

Morning! I took off work today, but got to get stuff done around the house. Yesterday, I took off for my b-day (we get it off with pay), but it was a pretty crappy day. Without going into details, I'll just say that my DS13 hates school, wants to quit football, and is having a crappy attitude. My DH was outside with a friend he hadn't seen in ages of his until late last night and didn't get to hear the story about DS13 until he came in and he didn't like what he heard at all and DS didn't like what his dad said this morning when I told him (he said that if he quits football he needs to have straight A's). I'm hoping that DH will have a talk with him without getting mad and get DS13 to understand what we want him to do and why. This child has so much athletic potential and he just wants to quit! He also has academic potential, but he's not using it.

Yes, I hate all that stuff too! Our pharmacies here aren't open past 6 PM, and sometimes it's really hard to get there before they close, so we are limited to the stuff on the shelf....and even when they are open, they are so busy with people getting prescriptions filled that I don't even want to wait. It's getting pretty bad with what they will let you buy too. I don't know about other states, but we can't buy any kind of OTC medicine if we are under 18. I hate to think that my poor kids can't buy any kind of OTC medications when they need it if their dad or I am not available at the moment. I was buying that kind of thing for myself when I was old enough to drive.

It sounds like all you homies up north are getting the rain that Lori and I got back in June and July. I don't know if Lori ever finished her ark or not, but I bet she'd loan it to you guys if she finished it. It's hot and dry down here in the south!

Raven: I don't blame ya for cuttin' down on Disney trip...heck, I don't think I can even get DH to go back to WDW peak time....(that "waitin'" thing ya know ) Sounds like Disney is getting "the dollar almighty" fever and changing a lot of things and peeps are complaining. I think that's the downfall with being so successful....Disney can charge more and change all they want cuz they know they will have people return...once yer hooked, ya keep goin' back.... (unless of course you are the Bubba family....then you defect to the darkside ) I have read threads over there that a lot of people say Disney is pricing them OUT of their trips there and they are going to be going to different places...and I know some of them are coming to UO...you can tell just reading the questions from the noob's to UO on the boards....oh sorry to get OT Raven....Definately spend more time at the motherland....she's callin' you

Speaking of ... why do people complain about pay to park at the Loews Orlando hotels but no one seems to complain about the fact that pool hopping is encouraged there? Yeah, I was 29...again. No seriously, my age doesn't bother me a bit. I turned 37 yesterday.
Kids are something else! Any mother with more than one child, or anyone with siblings knows that each child is different. This one is especially difficult! The 10-year-old has a much more positive outlook on things. I worry about DS13 so much of the time! I hope you don't get to the point I'm at with Zack when Bubba gets to be 13.

I don't think we'll need the ark (altho, we did get over 2.5" of rain (more than Tracie), but it stopped raining a day or 2 ago, now summer is on it's way back!

Personally, I'd choose Key West over Costa Maya! Maybe CM has improved a lot since we were there 3 years ago, but it was pretty much a big nothing. More like a private island than an actual destination. Not a horrible place to go, but we've really enjoyed our visits to KW a lot more.
