hi guys!

Just found out one of our ports of call is GONE:scared1: , costa maya is no more - got hammered; poor people living in those tin shacks, so sad. Belize, is still possible though. Hope they announce what the alternates are before that final payment is due next month...may just cancel.

We went to Costa Maya back when it had just become a port of call in 2003 on our Princess cruise. In the cabin, there was a hardcover book describing the ports of call, with a lot of advertising, maps, etc. For the population of Costa Maya it had (I'm not making this up): Negligible. :confused3 Just thought that was a poor choice of words since it kind of implied the folks that were there were extremely unimportant! Maybe "Minimal" or "Under 100" or something like that?!

Mac - they do say cruising grows on you. According to the industry, most people who've gone on one cruise have gone on at least 3 (I know that's poor wording too, but you get the idea). We weren't all that thrilled with cruising after our honeymoon one back in 88, but tried it again and after the second cruise fell in love with it. So a lot of people don't like the idea of cruising, but once they've done it change their minds. Especially now when cruise ships are so large and offer so much - you could literally get an inside cabin and find it hard to realize you were in fact at sea!

Not trying to push it - my folks resisted for years, then once they tried it (about 8 years ago) have been going at least 1-2 times a year since then. We've never convinced my inlaws to try. I think the biggest factor in enjoyment is to do research on the lines and pick one that matches you. In our case DCL and Carnival and Norwegian didn't. We LOVE Princess; my folks aren't that impressed with it and go Holland American whenever they can. Thought RCCL was excellent and would go with them again if we traveled with the kids, but would stick with Princess otherwise. But if you ever do want to try one, go to cruisecritic.com and really decide what you're looking for so you get the best cruise for you.

Okay, done work for today....where was everyone last nite? :snooty: Anyhows....some catching up to do.....

Tracie: loved the video ...and, I agree with Tricia, shouldn't say "cute", but how can ya NOT??? :confused3 I also like the new sig....why'd you change it? You just got the other one :confused3 (nice to see the sun again, eh neighbor?)

Raven: You're not "weird" for having no desire to cruise. I didn't until the one we took....was looking for something "different". We were at Sandals in Jamaica for our honeymoon, and after the cruise, we both decided we preferred the cruise over an all-inclusive (on the boat, you get to visit different places without "packing and traveling"...all inclusive, you're "stuck" at that resort with some activites and excursions (if you're brave). So, I don't think you're weird.....well, not any MORE weird than usual anyhows..... :rolleyes1

Tricia: I see what you're saying regarding the "alone" time on the DC while the kids are "entertained" ;) Same reason we chose it too....(figure the boy will love it and will want to go on future cruises.....just hope he doesn't get spoiled with all the stuff on the DC :scared:

Janet: I'm sorry Costa Maya isn't there for you to explore now...do they have an alternate port for you?

Jodie: I think you need a vacation....and yes, I'll take the bet if you started that thread, it'd get locked by post #6.

Oddly enough, I made that cruise payment today at AAA. My TA there told me AAA is sending her (& some others) on a 3 night DC :thumbsup2 They are touring Disney and some of the hotels (research i guess?) and then taking the cruise. It's in early October and she's excited (although her 2 young daughters aren't too thrilled THEY have to stay home and go to skool  ) She can't wait to go and "report" back to me and I can't wait either...I'm excited for her!

Bubba scored 3 goals in scrimmage soccer game last nite....altho, I thought he was going to drop over cuz he was SO tired. Coach busted their you-know-whats!

Well, off to see about dinner...then off to karate :o ..again!

Catch ya's l8r.......

As long as you rent a stroller and push it while riding an ECV and honk that little horn and aim for everyone's ankles at the same time.

Then you'll be fine.

Only if you bring your TASER!!!!!!!!!

I responded on another thread that Tower of Terror was my favorite ride at Universal. Someone took me seriously. Tricia told me to get some sleep. Sometimes I forget that I am usually the only one who finds me funny. My mother always said she was so grateful that I could entertain myself as a child....

I thought your ToT comment WAS funny. Especially since I had just read your post here about having only 7 hours of sleep in the past 4 days. Hence my reply, which was suppose to bring a chuckle too.

I'm very easy to entertain. Remember I was one of the one that lost several minutes watching Barbs dancing banana smiley... :rolleyes1

Barb finds the best bananas.

If there were a banana contest, the trophy would be called "The Barb".

Okay, maybe I need some sleep.

Or the cold medicine is kicking in and making me loopy.

Probably not the cold medicine, since the stuff they stock on the shelves doesn't do s*** anymore.
