Little bean wants to go to Universal for his birthday but he is afraid of the scary stuff I told him it doesn't come out until night time, but he is still hesitant......I need to convince him and Daddy Bean (about the $$) that its all good

the cat kinda freaked when i put the suitcases out to air them....

I keep telling him its one week a year, all I am asking for is one week a year..... Does that make me a bad mother????? just 1 week out of 52 where he is not number one???? my DH gets to take the furball to the prison/cat boarding place this year.

last year I took him before work and we both howled alll the way over and all day I felt like I had marched him off to some sort of death.... pets make you feel sooooo guilty!

Candy corn is only some of the best fall candy available on earth. Especially when mixed with salty peanuts!!!

Yankypenny--you can eat all the candy corn you want because you've been eating so many veggies this summer. You've earned it. (I'm a candy corn lover too, actually any candy.) Halloween is my favorite time of year because of the candy. I'll admit an embarassing thing I did. Last year we went camping over halloween and all the kids dressed up and went trick or treating from camp-site to camp-site. Being short (same height as son) I figured no one would know I was an adult so I put on a mask and went begging for candy with them. I was doing pretty well until some man talked to me, when I answered him he could tell I was an adult I was mortified. He kept yelling real loud so everyone could hear "your not a kid, your not a kid!" He wasn't being mean, just making fun of me. Of course I quickly walked away from their site and in the dark shadows removed my mask and fluffed my hair, then continued on with the kids pretending like nothing happened ....snacking on my very own bag of candy.

first day of school sucked. i hate it worse than the students do..

YES, talk that daddy into doing hrh. i'll be there the 4th - 8th. jodie comes the 6th - 14th. sending mummy dust right now so it can happen.

Gemma - Candy Corn are triangle shaped sugar bombs. You can actually watch kids bounce off the walls after eating a handfull. It's like chewing solid syrup... and I don't mean that in a bad way. They are always available around Halloween and bring back many a happy childhood memory. They were always in glass bowls scattered throughout my parents house for the month of October.
And, yes, I have seen some places put knock-off candy corn out as an ice cream topper. Beware of the no-name brand candy corn. It tends to be flavorless and leaves a weird film in your mouth.

Not that I've eaten much candy corn in my lifetime...

Jodie - I hope your real anniversary day was nice yesterday. Today is my real anniversary day. I had to remind hubby (since we celebrated last weekend) and for our big night? We're headed to the in laws house so MIL can make us a "special" dinner. How romantic.

Did I miss anyone? I tried to catch up!

Today was the first day that Joshua decided to try the drop-off at school. Since school began, we've been parking and I've walked him in. He decided he was ready to do it himself today. It was almost as hard as the first day... watching him walk into the building all by himself. So young and brave with his Wolverine backpack on. Sigh.

WOW! Really started a conversation with the whole candy corn thing, didn't I? I wouldn't mind the Halloween stuff SO much, but Bubba isn't even back in skool yet

btw y'all....damo is/was in California for her vacation, remember?? I did see her post on another thread, so I'm wondering if she's "lurking" and keepin' up w/ us or that was her only chance?? I forget when she's supposed to return

idgystripes...I hear ya on the "guilt" trip w/ kitty.... my cat used to know what suitcases meant too..... then she'd be "mad" at me. Funny thing, the first couple of times, she ignored me when we came home (like she was mad), but after the first couple, and she realized that we WOULD come home, she was all over me......attached to my leg! One trip I remember coming home at like 1am, and I was just putting the key in the door and she was sitting on the other side of the door meowing her head off.....she was glad to see us THAT time. (In her defense, we usually went 10 or more days!)

Oh, and Tracie.....I'm comin' to see ya girl....... I'll be right there....
