i'm going broke this week: brake job/rotors on SUV today, holding my breath that caddy passes (mechanic never did call me today...hmmpfh); glasses tomorrow & school clothes out the wazoo, had to pay off my water heater before Lowes financing ran out & car insurance due end of week. i may have to get a real job

my window a/c died in my BR too; miserable night tossing & turning - wonder when they'll go on sale.

Janet...sorry to hear about all the money flyin' outta yer pocket ....you know the sayin': when it rains, it pours! I know how ya feel tho....my "vacation box" was FULL of money I saved for our trip. Had to put it in the bank to pay the credit card ..... I felt broke . Now, my poor box is empty and I'm startin over

I don't "get" the whole back to school shopping thing.... Bubba got new sneakers the beginning of summer (before vacation), and I just bought him a few pairs of jeans. He'll wear tshirts for awhile, and by then the long sleeves will be out. He got new underwear this summer and doesn't need socks. So, I'm waiting on buyin sweatpants/shirts, windbreaker pants and long sleeves....got some time yet.....

Janet, I thought $50 for a wedding was a bit cheap, but I think it's a regional thing. We had plenty of people who didn't cover their plates at our wedding, but then again, they would've had I not insisted on the lobster rolls. Still, that was a lame excuse for no Christmas present, no? You just got married, so no Christmas gift for you? What do I know?

Well, I am on midnights tonight, and as luck would have it, I spent all day on the verge of sleep without crossing over. So, I am ornery, dog tired, and I had a mess at work last night that's carried over to tonight and I'll be walking into it again. My usual cocktail of Benadryl and Melatonin was useless. I even went to the gym first thing in the morning because that usually relaxes me. What's the damn matter with me? Well, I am off now to brush my teeth, throw my hair in a pony tail, and leave for work with a pit stop at the Dunkin Donuts drive thru for an x-tra large coffe. Sweet dreams, friends!

P.S. Penny, I don't know if you remember these, but Brach's used to make a candy called Gum Dinger balls. They were my favorite candy, but Brachs discontinued them. That makes me sad.

mac -mom is my full time job although she's been 100% better since i grew a backbone threatened to institutionalize her sometimes idle threats do work.

barb - family knows "my" vacation stash is off-limits. DH was eyeing it up today, had to smack him down. Ear-marked for cruise, trip insurance & excursions i need to pay in less than 3 weeks...think i went overboard on the 'lil spur of the moment get aways this years; least i didn't charge them!

My youngest barely fits in the tennies i bought him for vacation (a size big); growth spurt finally.

my sons are all metrosexuals, i created monsters. Oldest DS said if he ever becomes a millionaire the 1st thing he'd do is only wear a pair of socks one time...just to enjoy that new sock feel . Yes, they do get excited about new sox & gutchies (underwear) - ha.

Thankfully Bubba is only 8.5 years old...he "likes" clothes, but isn't to the point of requesting "name brands" yet ...whew! I know, my day will come....(I think I care more what he's dressed like than he does! Today he wore camo shirt w/ gray sweatpants....uugghhh...)

Metro, isn't that sacrilege, going from DVR to tape ?

I can't stand watching a VCR tape, I got TIVO like 6 or 7 years ago, now I have DirecTV Hi-Def DVR, haven't watched a VCR tape in YEARS. If I want to archive something, I burn it to DVD. I'm a gadget geek, it goes with the territory of owning a recording studio

I'm giving up now. I'll just buy the damn series when it comes out on DVD later this year. Since I couldn't extend the recordings due to a marathon, the DVR cuts off the end of the episode. I wish I had the capacity to burn onto DVD but mine is from 1999 and doesn't record.

Okay, since I already did my trip report in real time, I'm going to try to add some pics now - about one day's worth at a time is all I can handle (and probably all you guys want to put up with anyways!). So from the first (travel) day and first MK day!

Good evening all! Just wanted to say hello!

Today was pretty uneventful, but shouldn't all vacations be?

I woke up late (8:45 am), grabbed a lil breakfast (Corn Pops), and headed down to the pool. We chilled in the pool (I use the word chilled lightly) but it wasn't as refreshing as it could have been.

Played a lil water volleyball and then went back to the room. Showered up, and headed off to Golden Corral (yum!)

After that, we went back to the room and everyone, I mean everyone fell asleep! I guess the food was too much for us!

We then went to a Character Store while the maid was cleaning the room, and I picked up two cute little bags for the little girls I teach how to swim for only 1.99!

We went back to the room and changed into the swimsuits and headed down for an evening swim. And that completes the evening!
