If I didn't get a cow tag when you petitioned for it,I doubt I'll get a golden fertile one.

Not fair- you have the best quotes for tags!! Friggin tag fairy- Universal side is better- come over here!!

Ok, while we're "venting" I have one more story in the spirit of fun ... yet again about my poor grandmother, but we got a lot of mileage out of this one so here goes ....

For Christmas 2005, everyone got the same amount of $$ from Grandma in a card. My brother and his wife, me and Mike, my sister, and each of my parents. Fast forward to Christmas 2006. My mom: $40, My Dad, my brother, my sister, me: each $30. Mike got $25. Hillary (my brother's wife) got $20.

My parents lobbied hard to get Hillary that extra $10 and Mike the extra $5 ... no go. My mother was mortified (as again, it would never, ever occur to her to give Mike or Hill less than any of us), and she VOWS this year, she will be in charge of the Christmas cash distribution.

Nonetheless, as I mentioned, we were all quite humored by this, even though we felt bad for Hill and teased her relentlessly. For Valentines' Day, my aunt sent them each a separate card: my brother's card she put inside $2 and in Hill's card, she put a single $1. My family just doesn't let anything go, and most people would not find that funny, but we're still trying to guess what the distribution is going to be this year, if grandmama is left to her own devices .... Does Mike taking her to the grocery store get him the extra $5 this year ... the possibilities are endless!

My family never lets anything go either. We get all the mileage out of an inside joke that we can.

When my grandmother was alive, she sent all of us (grandkids) $5 on our birthday. Didn't matter if you were turning 2, 12, or 30... you got $5. Now, the funny thing was that after we started getting married, our birthday cards started coming addressed to "Mr & Mrs". My oldest sister was the first one to mention it. She said, "Does this mean I owe my husband $2.50? It's MY birthday, but both our names are on the envelope!" My other sister is a lesbian. We won't even get started on how her envelopes were addressed. :rolleyes1

Maybe we should see what we can do to nominate YOU as a tag fairy. You are the best at pointing out what should be tagged. I never would have thought about the golden fertile thing as one! :upsidedow

I'm not above bribery... or begging, if it comes to that... :rolleyes1

I fell for Johnny Depp when he had a small-ish role in Platoon. Watched him through the 21 Jump Street years, LOVED him as Edward Scissorhands... well, you get the idea. He was a hottie when he (and I) was young and he just keeps getting better. :thumbsup2

Don't know if anyone else cares, but they just broke into our regular tv programming with a "special news bulliten":

Michael Vick has agreed to plead guilty to felony conspiracy charges. He could be sentenced to 1-3 years in jail.

It is not known at this time (yeah, right) if he has reached an agreement with NFL Commissioner Goodell that will allow him to play football in the future.

I hope he never touches a football again - absolute disgrace of a human being in my opinion.

As long as he's never in an Atlanta Falcons uniform, I don't care.

If some other town is foolish enough to take him and his baggage on...

The other 3 defendants in the case already entered in plea deals that named Vick as the money behind the dog kennels. Two of the defendants admitted to aiding and witnessing the killing of dogs that "underperformed" in test fights (they admitted to drowning and hanging at least 8 dogs). Pretty iron clad case. He had to take a deal or do serious time.

What he deserves is to never touch a football again IMHO, but I don't know that it will happen.

What is that going to get me? Something off the dollar menu at McDonalds? ....before anyone flames me....I KNOW it's the thought that counts ;) (still...I love those funny stories!)

Penny: Are ya packed yet? You have been waiting SO long....hardly seems real that the time is quickly approaching....but enjoy it, cuz the time will absolutely FLY BY and it'll be over before you blink your eyes! :guilty:

I'm fairly new to the site and I have to say, I'm glad I found this section. It's nice to know that some folks thinks it's OK to like Disney AND Universal.

The family and I (DW, DS16, DD13 and DS10) took a 7 day trip to WDW this past Feb and after much debate, decided to do US for 3 days at the end of the trip. (Rather than do 10 days at WDW)

Boy, was that a good decision. We stayed at the Royal Pacific and DW and I really liked the hotel. We all liked the parks, the rides were great, some way better than WDW, some not quite there with WDW, but overall we really liked the whole thing.

Really liked the short walk to the parks from the hotel, or the leisurely boat ride, liked City Walk shops and restaurants. We had a really good time, and will definitely be back there on our next family trip.

Seems like in some areas on "the other side" of this site, I'd get flamed for even mentioing that there is another theme park in the Orlando area.

Just wanted to say :thumbsup2 and :thanks:

You will find that most people over here on the Universal a/k/a "darkside" love Disney and Universal both. There is a constant debate and we can't figure it out why some people bash Universal :confused3 ...so, you're not alone feeling "flamed" and why people can't enjoy BOTH parks.

Anyhow...you are welcome to say what you think here....we don't flame over here :thumbsup2

Macraven will be along to "officially" welcome you....as she is the Founding Mother of this thread! :thumbsup2

:wave2: :welcome:

I think we've all been flamed at one time or another for daring to suggest that it's okay to enjoy all that Orland has to offer. Welcome to the club.

We'll send along your paperwork and dues are expected by the first of the month. :lmao:

Seriously, welcome to the board. Stay and share. It's a friendly place! (most of the time) :rolleyes1

Checking in for just a moment to say HI!
Hey Alison....good to "see" you! How's the house comin' along?

Well, actually, we haven't made much progress lately. Hopefully, we will make some MAJOR progress this week. I'm taking Thursday and Friday off, and DH will be off with me. I've had 2 yard sales and been shuttling DS13 back and forth to football practice, school shopping, and just plain getting ready for school. They started today and I have to leave right now to go pick up DS 13 from football practice. We will stay VERY busy for the next couple of months with practice and games!

You guys and gals are hard to keep up with, when I've been gone so much!

Rosemarie, I'm sending some pixie/mummy dust for Chrissy: :wizard:

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

to the newest drop in homie....

kbsjjb
