I'm fairly new to the site and I have to say, I'm glad I found this section. It's nice to know that some folks thinks it's OK to like Disney AND Universal.

The family and I (DW, DS16, DD13 and DS10) took a 7 day trip to WDW this past Feb and after much debate, decided to do US for 3 days at the end of the trip. (Rather than do 10 days at WDW)

Boy, was that a good decision. We stayed at the Royal Pacific and DW and I really liked the hotel. We all liked the parks, the rides were great, some way better than WDW, some not quite there with WDW, but overall we really liked the whole thing.

Really liked the short walk to the parks from the hotel, or the leisurely boat ride, liked City Walk shops and restaurants. We had a really good time, and will definitely be back there on our next family trip.

Seems like in some areas on "the other side" of this site, I'd get flamed for even mentioing that there is another theme park in the Orlando area.

Yeah, we noticed this the other day when we actually tried to go shopping for school supplies 2 weeks before school starts! Guess we were supposed to go in June. At Walgreens all the school stuff had been crammed into one small area so they could get all the Halloween candy out. You'd think with school not starting here until after Labor Day, you'd at least get until then to get your school stuff!

Hi all-
I think it's been 24hrs since I posted here last.

Thank you all for the well wishes, prayers, pixie dust, mummy dust for Chrissy. It really helped!
Came back from her card. doctor appt. this afternoon. Only spent maybe about 1 hr and 20 min there, record time! Even got Chrissy's haircut done in the spur of the moment, right after leaving the doc. appt.
Everything with her heart looks really good
Had the EKG and exam done at the office. Doc said no need to have echocardiogram done until next yr's visit, since everything looked very well! No need to schedule the heart MRI either
Had the MRI of the heart done in October 2006 at Children's Memorial Hosp. in Chicago.
The only thing we need to do is schedule the 24hr Holter monitor. I can do that within the next month at our convenience She gets the leads set up and has to wear the leads with hte holter box for 24 hrs at home. Then I disconnect it all and bring the equipment back to the doctor's office. Not a big thing to do, but Chrissy doesn't really like it, b/c she has limited movement with all that on her.

Sorry I haven't been able to post earlier today, just busy, crazy here. My mom calling me about 5 times today , Uggh! Dropped Matthew off here earlier today.

Evening everyone!!

Another scorcher today!!! We went to Wet n Wild this morning, stayed until about 12ish, then left. It was just toooo hot!!!! The water wasn't overally cool so we bailed early.

Then we went shopping.....the Prime outlets are under construction, so no Disney or Universal Outlets

We went to Festival Bay Mall (beautiful place, but how do they stay in business with so little stores? ) and ate at Fuddrucker's for my sis's b-day! Yum yum!

Then we went to Old Town and took in the shops and drunks..errr...I mean, the colorful tourists and locals

I wish I could post pics but the connections here are not great...I will when I get back to NY

Barb - I know what you mean about the Halloween stuff....Michael's already has their Christmas aisle up!

Rosemarie, I'm glad the trip to the dr. went well for Chrissy!

Barb, I'm seeing Halloween stuff here too, and I actually bought a skeleton t-shirt for my DS13 yesterday. I don't know if he will wear it or not though....you know he thinks he's too old for that kind of stuff....but I really thought about him when I saw it yesterday!
