Ok, my NFL Team hasn't won a game and my college team isn't going to a bowl so the big game is tonight's prep game between the unbeaten Naples team and Glades Central who knocked off Naples last year at this time and went on to win the State Championship. Naples is 3 games from recording the first perfect season in the school's history. But as far as history goes Glades Central has won 6 State titles and has produced 27 NFL players in 29 years. The Naples team is stoked for revenge and we have the same home field advantage but our quarterback suffered an ankle injury in last week's game and the decision to play him is at game time. Only 2 teams have scored double digits against us this year and one of those is expected to win the Connecticut State Tiltle.
So if ya'll hear something after 7:30 it might be my kids yelling their support to Naples Golden Eagles!:cheer2:

Somebody hold me back! I was almost in a brawl in the pickup line for Primary School.

The school is K-2nd Grades. That's it. Kindergarten and 1st Grades release for pickup at 2:15. 2nd Grade releases like 10 minutes later. I have no idea how early some of these people show up to wait in line to pick up their kids. Really. The earliest I've ever arrived is 1:30 and there is always 12 to 15 cars lined up along the front of the school then. They seem to have a little social club going, where they arrive super early, park their cars, get out of their cars and sit and chat on the benches near the entrace to the school. Whatever. I don't get it, but whatever. I only go early right now because that is when Daniel wants to go down for his one hour nap each day. He falls asleep on the drive over, we sit in the car and while he sleeps, I can read (or today I was addressing Christmas cards). When his schedule shifts, I won't be getting there 45 mins early anymore.

Anyway, the only problem with this little social club that gathers at the door of the school is that they park their car, get out of their car, then don't bother to keep an eye on their car. It is becoming an increasing problem. Somebody will pull up to the curb just to do an early pickup and then when they pull away, the other cars shift forward... except for the ones that the people have parked and walked away from. What winds up happening is the parked social club cars are getting more and more scattered along the curb, where the pickup line forms, with huge spaces in between because they aren't there to drive the car and fill in the gaps when necessary. People are getting tired of it and pulling around the parked cars to fill in those gaps.

I would be one of those people.

I pulled around one of the parked cars today and one of the fluffy little moms (forgive me, she decks herself out to come and socialize, it is SO hysterical) actually had the audacity to come over and tell me that I was breaking in line. I laughed at her. I couldn't help it. She said, "Well, I was here first." I said, "No, you were BACK THERE first (pointing to where her car still sat), and if you moved your car when the line moves, then you would be HERE first (pointing to the ground beside my car)... but since you don't, now I'm HERE first. If you want to go tell on me, please, let me know. I'd be happy to gather up the other parents in the other waiting cars and have a good old fashioned sit down about this and see who wins."

She huffed away and I'm sure many nasty things were said about me in the front door Primary School social mom clique.

Is it wrong that I enjoyed putting the fluffy little thing in her place? 'Cause I did... :rolleyes1

Go Tricia! Go Tricia!!!

Mfletch - Ridley Green Raiders (our HS team) are in the Finals tonight as well. This was the game they lost last year - ended up 12-1. Going for a 13-0 season and a trip to State Championship next week. The game is actually on tv  :cool1:

Good to see you Todd. Bummer about missing Janet. Maybe she and Jodie will still be able to connect. I think they were trying, weren't they?

I'm back from my visit with Carol. She is pretty bad tonight. I'm not sure she'll really remember I was there. Okay, I've had all the bad stuff I can handle this week, so I'm going to box it all up for the next 48 hours and give my head and heart a little break. I'll open it up and deal with it all again at the end of the weekend. :ssst:

janet, you will be missed.
don't forget to miss us.

i'll take the cliff notes in my sorry sicko way for you :goodvibes

Hey Damo - If you are reading just wanted to say hi! I saw that you posted earlier today on the attendance thread. I hope you are doing well!

We miss you!

Oh, and I forgot, Barb you asked about my mom. Deb asked if Mom would come over there and stay on Tuesday and she's been there every night since.
OH....I didn't know she went back to Carol's...that's good she is there to help Deb. They need her there more than you need her at your house......

I have plans to go to a party tomorrow night. Old friends, so it should be a good time. I have a date with my BFF to be my escort (Leta, whom I've known since *ahem* Band Camp in 1979) since Brad will more than likely have to watch the kids. I don't think Mom will be able to leave Carol.

Hope you have a great time....you truly deserve to! :thumbsup2 Oh...and....

(sorry it's blurry)

Mom wants to go shopping AGAIN today, so I may not be around much. Then again, Daniel keeps telling me his tummy hurts, so we may not be going anywhere.
So? How'd that go?? How's he feeling?
