jennifer - how did i confuse the super 8 with the motel 6...guess i'm not good with numbers (not sure if i've ever seen a super 8; not many motel 6s either...a regional motel perhaps?). I'm not too sure about accounts not being passionate...think still waters run deep.

sharon -hope you got good seats. I always have them packed & ready to go in the LR the night before so we can grab them on our way out the door to early flight in the am. not sure which cat (they operate covertly in the darkness) shredded my suitcases ; one so bad i had to replace it. Between the pulls on the material & the funny handle covers & various ribbons, etc. to help them stand out on the carousel; we are def. low-brow. I've been hiding the new garment bag behind closed doors, least i'll have 1 decent looking one.

i didn't get the pretty boys, more of a Mick Jagger fan ; must be the whole bad boy thing.

day 4 or 5 on SIL watch, getting mighty po'd @ the ignorant wench.

I'm in a bit of a rush. Overslept because Brad was tossing and turning and hacking all night, so once he got up to shower I zonked out. I didn't have time for my shower before I took Joshua to school and, wouldn't you know it, this is the morning the Optimist Club is going from car to car handing out muffins and juice. As my mother would say, I looked like death warmed over... and here was this cheerful, perky, clean-and-well-dressed young lady handing me a banana nut muffin and oj.

I didn't hurt her. I wanted to, but I didn't.

So, I have about an hour now to clean myself up and head to my doctor's appointment to discuss the results of my blood work and find out that there is nothing he can give me for this cold/flu bug that won't go away. I already know the answer to that one because he didn't give Brad anything when he was there yesterday.

P.S. I didn't say that accountants aren't passionate. My friend that I met at the unreserved campground during race weekend? He's a CPA. Plenty of passion there. It's just when I think about someone being passionate about their job, accounting is waaaaayyyyy down on the list. I do the bookkeeping for our business. I make sure it is done in a timely manner and follow all the laws and rules. I'm good at it, but it's not something I'd describe as being "passionate" about. For me, it is a chore. I'm sure that affects my overall view of the job.

jodie - WHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO - 18 days left of your weekend!!! Our trip is 90% a go (12/1-12/5 at the HRH).....Jim just needs to get over the guilt of going to Uni without the kids. We got an even better rate from our hotel contact ($154.00 per night for a regular King room) . Also, he told me that he would be lonely on Dueling Dragons and Hulk (I don't go upsidedown - how bad can it be with my eyes closed???!) Or we can just hook up with you guys and he can go on with you

lori - thanks for sharing the pics. Courtney is going to love seeing them Sounds like you had a good time. I took Kait to see Fall Out Boy (they were good), Gym Class Heroes and Cute Is What We Aim For (never heard of them) on Tuesday night. It was a pretty good time. Alot of parents walking around the concourse with adult beverages to help ease the ear pain

Fletch, sorry to hear about your sht dinner. Look up scrapple. Its a big thing here in Philly, we eat it once or twice a month, but I refuse to read the ingredients anymore......it tastes too good Have you ever looked up Boston Market Meatloaf recipie? That is the one I make and its really good and easy to make. I don't cook unless it comes with directions on the box - That is Jim's job around here, he is VERY VERY GOOD.

I think the guys who came in to estimate must have smoked something really good before they got here, uh....$4000.00 to put in a dishwasher and new counters (which are in stock at Home Depot and Lowe's)??? Nah, think I will get some more estimates on that I need to rethink some options and see what alternatives I can dig up

Morning everyone!!! Happy Friday to all! This weekend is my weekend to help my sister with her magazine so I get a weekend without kids.

Jennifer - There is a guy in Hannah/Miley's band that I looked at forever trying to figure out if it was actulally Billy Ray playing, finally figured out it wasn't but he looked that much like him. I'm gonna try to see if her older brother plays in her band. He was also the band member she spent the most time with.

For anyone that doesn't know Billy Ray is a really great guy. After the huge tornados came through Oklahoma back in 99 he was on his way through the state to do a show or something. It was several weeks later. Well there was a small town just off the highway that was completely wiped out and his bus pulled off the highway and went in to that community and did a little show for all the people that were there helping with the clean up and rebuilding.

Janet - Thanks for the link. I had never paid any attention to the increase from when I first bought in, more than a $1/point in just 6 years. Wow!

Tricia - Good luck at the Doctor today. Did you ever get that package I sent? Trust me, take it and you will feel better. Make Brad take it too.

Tracie - Sounds like you and Kait had a good time too. Do you have any pics? Would love teo see them. And I agree, sounds like those guys were smoking something with that estimate. No, there really isn't a link to "passion" and "accounting", is there?
Just DH's boss at his temp job is really full of himself. Boss is more of a real estate guru than anything else. He also does lectures at colleges in the area, etc. The job was supposed to go permanent. That's why I have been angry about this lately.
Anyways, yes DH is still job hunting. I have been receiving a couple of calls here lately, from recruiters for DH.

Hopefully no one elses DH's here is getting laid-off, b/c it really stinks, looking for another job, etc.

Rose - Your welcome. I'm still praying for your DH's job situation. Don't have to worry about my DH's since he is a gov. employee. Of course he could make more working for Boeing or some place like that but he won't leave the security of the gov. job.

I am back from my doctor's appointment and I didn't get much good news.

In his words, I am "no longer dangerously anemic"... I am "just mildly anemic"... after 1 month on the prescription iron. My numbers have come up, but I'm still not even at the low end of the the normal range yet.

That means I can't donate blood to my sister. He said it would probably be 2 more months before I would be within the normal range where I can donate.

He also patted me on the head and told me I would have to let this cold bug "run its course". Yeah, I know... but when the course it is running is my body, it's hard to wait it out.

He also wants to see me back in mid-January to check my blood work again. He wants to tie up loose ends before he gets shipped out to Iraq. He's already done one tour, but his number came up again.

Sorry to hear that you didn't get very good news. Here's hoping that your next visit is better. If I could donate blood for Carol, I would - but I had Hepatitis A in 1997 and was told I no longer could donate blood. Which stinks because I am not your regular O blood type.....nope, I am B positive.

elmer - hopefully, your sis can put the sqeeze on everyone else for the 1st 2 months, then you can step in (can't remember the guidelines, know the hospital calls & reminds me when i'm eligible to donate lol). Nothing like paying to be patronized/ie patted on the head...you should have yelled "ow" and fell down

tracie - $4 K ; guess i'll never be able to afford new kitchen cabinets. for the adult only trip (course i don't know what that is either lol; few more years & jr will be in college, maybe then ).

So, it's jodie, maybe tracie, me & maybe Todd @ U on 12/1. We were going to try & meet Jodie @ NBA happy hour (bogo ) after the park closes...it runs until 7:00 p.m. Possibly could meet up in the park, not sure cause i'm thinking DS will have me running to try & ride everything in both parks in 6 hours

lori - we're only @ RPR 1/2 a day ; probably won't hit the parks until after noon and then they close @ 6:00 p.m. on a saturday in Dec....won't comment on the MK being open until midnight...the HM is calling me...DH said forgetabout it - i'm always dead tired the 1st day of travel/cause i'm up 1/2 the night before like a 'lil kid before Xmas. Need to be up & at 'em the next am for drive to TPA for cruise

rose - DH used to be laid off so much or else the company would go out of business, etc.; he had a painting business on the side just to keep busy & pay the bills. He's one of those people who cannot sit still, paces back & forth like a cat. He then worked side job as a full-time janitor @ school district to keep MIL in a nursing home. He's now working 12 hour days; not sure how he does it or where he gets his energy.

Grew a backbone & called SIL, who will be attending along with BIL. Her adult children are "unsure of their plans" . I'm now planning on a buffet as opposed to a sit-down, way easier imo.

Tracie - We are A negative blood types. Yours wouldn't have worked anyway, but it's really sweet that you would even have thought about it. I didn't know Hepatitis folks couldn't donate. I guess that stuff hangs around in your blood forever?

Janet - Brad is O negative (universal donor) too. I don't know if he'll be an option. I asked my doctor and he said O neg is usually just used in an emergency situation when there is no time to find type specific blood. He said he was 99% sure that they would want to match her blood type exactly if she has to receive blood. I wish my oldest sister would step up to the plate, but somehow I don't think that is going to happen. I'm not sure what blood type she is anyway, but she could at least offer. I don't know if my brother could. He lives in New Jersey, so it wouldn't be like he could pop down here at a moments notice.

This is NOT the sort of stuff I ever expected to worry about.

not into Xmas decorating this year; usually have most of it up before Thansgiving (so the extended family can enjoy). Tree always goes up on Black Friday.
