Good afternoon everyone
Wishing the best. He is very lucky to have a built in nurse to help him recover!
Thank you Janet. So thankful to be here to help him anyway I can.
I got what I thot was an odd message from my surgeon this am, verifying my surgery date is still as scheduled. Hadn't heard about IV shortage causing many elective procedures to be postponed
They are not canceling elective surgeries that I heard of, but coming up with some needed changes until shortage is resolved.
Does make you wonder as to the wisdom of NHS being ok with just a few, centralized manufacturing sites handling many essential medical Supplies
I think this hopefully will make Baxter the company who makes the IV fluids decide to add another operations plant somewhere else to make sure there are no issues in the future. Of course in all fairness to them whoever thought that would happen in North Carolina.
Continued good wishes for them both Robbie.
Thank you Carole.
Besides it being cloudy and a but drizzly most days, the weather has been amazing and we have adjusted park days and been hitting them hard! This Momma's feet are tired. I brought the wrong trainers. I thought my work ones inwear would be good - ummmmm

I don't know why they are hurting. The rest will be good for the feet.
Pumpkin hope all is well with you and your family and you are able to get all the things you wanted to enjoy done.
Finally, done with this year's wreath.
That is a really cute wreath. Little Sam theme is great.
in my area, we had a quake today in ringgold
Strange things are happening.
Update - The retinal specialist says that the hemorrhaging is minimal and there is no damage to the retina. I am to avoid heavy lifting, bending over, and any head jarring activity for at least the next 3 weeks. We will discuss theme park rides when I go back to see her on November 6.
Charade I’am sorry to hear you are having issues with your eye. Glad to hear you were able to get in and see the needed Specialist Doctors to have your eye examined. Sending you a special Nurse to care for you. I know you like cats. Prayers for healing of your eye.
Praying for some good news in November!
Sending prayers for your wife that all is healed up soon.
And our keisha heads off tomorrow on her travels.......hope you and the mister have an amazing time Janet!!!!
Enjoy your trip Janet.
Busy day with visitors, all packages and gifts have now been handed out to some very grateful friends, I did tell them Prosecco or champagne will be appreciated in lieu of luggage charges!!
Sounds like a fair exchange to me.
am hoping Robbie will let us know how her husband is doing.
I have kept an eye out and been checking the sans for any up dates she might share with us.
Yes, hope all went well for Mr Robbie.
Sorry I had planned to update yesterday then things started moving pretty fast.
Hubby is doing well. He is tired and in pain, but pain meds are helping a lot.
He was in surgery for almost 4 hours Wednesday morning. The surgeon had to pull his vertebrae back into place and then fuse and graft the bones to hold them in place. That is really a short simple explanation of the surgery.
He came through the surgery well.
Since I’am a Nurse the Doc and therapist felt ok with sending him home yesterday evening. He wanted to come home and they gave me all the dressing supplies to care for his back.
He was up good today with his walker, but is weak and in pain from the surgery.
Some additional unexpected wounds were on his face from the tape they secured the intubation tube with. He also has a big blister that popped with they removed his back dressing yesterday. He had a reaction to some of the tape. So those areas are being managed also.
Sadly the food at the hospital was really bad. Also, everytime he ordered food there was always things missing off his tray. The hospital has a different food company handling all the patient food and food served to the visitors in the Cafe downstairs.
When I worked there they had wonderful food. The Nurse said the employees and patients have been complaining about the food for a longtime now since this new company is handling the food. So sad as good nutrition is very important to the healing process.
I’am glad to get my sweetie home. He will be fed and cared for well.
Our granddaughter is doing well after her surgery. She is up moving around well.
My sister in Harmony weathered the Hurricane ok. She said the back winds that followed the initial onslaught was the worse. She said that 4 am Thursday morning they woke up to severe winds and rain and looked out and saw shingles flying off their roof. They did suffer roof damage, but the wood and underlayment paper under the shingles appear intact. No leaks yet so fingers crossed. Luckly she was able to get 5 roofing companies out already to assess the damage and give her some estimates on replacing the roof. Her insurance company will handle the cost less the deductible.
Our house did hot sustain any damage as far as the we know. All the homes including ours had the hurricane shutters up. There was some tree debris.
There were numerous tornados that were spawned by this hurricane before it made landfall. A big one destroyed one of the post offices in town and did damage to some homes. There was some flooding as well.
About 6 miles from us in St.Lucie County a neighborhood called Spanish Lakes suffered more tornado damage when one touched down there. Six people died there. So sad. This is same neighborhood where the 85 year old lady was attacked by the big gator and killed last February.
Daughter sent this picture she took on the top of the hospital.
Hope everyone has a good afternoon and evening.
