Something About Nothing............ #14

All is well after Milton. A lot of rain and gusts over 40. We were lucky to be just outside of the heavier wind and rain. They had predicted 75+ gusts here.
Prayers for those in the path.

Good to know you`re all ok up there DJ!! I was so happy to hear from several Orlando friends that they`re all ok!

Fajitas were spicy!!! Used spicier chillies than usual so only needed a little, but they went a long way, thank goodness for sour cream and home made salsa.

Tonight, going to laze along the sofas and watch tv, least the sun has been shining today which has been nice, so went down and checked all the trees and they have been cleared of fruit, good to see as they go to make such lovely products.

Cup of tea and a slice of apple pie soon I think!

Hopefully tomorrow will start uploading our trip pictures, Tom laughed and said we took the least amount ever, around 5,000!!! I also have a load on my phone to upload too. Will be a busy day!

Update - The retinal specialist says that the hemorrhaging is minimal and there is no damage to the retina. I am to avoid heavy lifting, bending over, and any head jarring activity for at least the next 3 weeks. We will discuss theme park rides when I go back to see her on November 6.

Praying for some good news in November!

in my area, we had a quake today in ringgold
Shaken, not stirred?

Weird, what did it rate on the scale? get them often there?

They are very rare here. Had two in last ten years, so mild I never felt. Family with me in LR for one we're all "...did you feel that?...". Um, no lol. Guess I'm dense

Sounds very encouraging.

Have u had "smaller" floaters in the past?

Don't laugh, with them have heard to be careful blowing your nose (keep mouth open) to equalize pressure

That’s a little scary. Hopefully no damage anywhere.

Good luck today, hope the appointment goes well and nothing impacts your trip.
I’ve already decided we are taking the trip even if I can’t ride much. B has been looking forward to this since last year.

Just heard from one of the managers at the hotel and all seems fine there with them which is wonderful to hear!!

No, this is my first experience with them. This one is so annoying. It’s like having a string in my eye.

That’s what my optometrist said. Also coughing, sneezing, or other bodily functions.

Anyone here stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter and can give me an opinion? We are currently booked for a preferred room at All Star Music. We stayed there last year and got upgraded to a suite, but I know I can’t expect that to happen again. I was just watching a video room tour and there doesn’t seem to be a good place to put my cpap. POGQ is a few hundred dollars more, but appears to have a little more space.

Charade, I like FQ. It’s a smaller resort, so you are not that far from all no matter which room area you are in. Also like the boat to Disney Springs, and the fact they have their own buses. There was only one time, when we stayed at FQ, in the middle of the afternoon, had the bus go to all the stops at PO before coming to FQ.

Well as I live and breathe got to say glad you finally returned to the group Pcstang.
you have made my day now since you have dropped back in here.

even after parted ways, i am happy to see you
the past is behind us and you will always be a part of the family here

it’s been some years since we have seen you

time for you to meet the family we have been adding on to here.

Great to be back! Those days you speak of where the beginning of some very turbulent times that are just now almost in the rearview mirror. I will just leave it at that...I tried to get back on as PCstang but wasn't able to get it to work so just started a new profile. Looks like quite a few of the crew are still around. That's great! Lost Bluer01's info years ago. Still trying to find it. Seems a little quiet around here...

it’s only quite here since it’s going on to 1:20 now .

the normal homies in the group usually hit the hay way before midnight….

obviously, I don’t follow the group that keeps a normal bed time.
my two cats sleep with me
they don’t call it a night until it’s 3 0clock

blueR vanished one day and haven’t seen him since
Maybe it was my breath that made him disappear?

every blue moon have had a few posters in the past stop by to say a “hey”
my cats are about to curl up and go to sleep and will be joining them

don’t be a stranger, you should come back and hang with the night group

I am off for bed now as cat herding time for their morning breakfast opens at early morning.

I know that! My cat is asleep on my lap right now. Time you wake him up and call it a day/night.

I admit to giggling at head jarring activity!

But fingers crossed for a positive result.

That’s a little scary. Hopefully no damage anywhere.

You can still have fun without the rides Charade.

It’s been so many years since we stayed at FQ, 2008, we enjoyed our two weeks there though. But after 16 years not sure my opinion is valid.

Lovely pics, it was crystal clear here last night, much excitement in the UK!

They’re always so impressive to see.

It was freezing here last night, but clear skies meant we had a wonderful sight to behold……

36F during the night!! But, the joys of not sleeping properly yet meant we had to go out.

So many wonderful pics from all across the UK and worldwide, amazing to see. It still makes us laugh we went for a week to Norway many years ago to see the Northern Lights…..never saw them once due to a weird weather system, we were just unlucky. But, when you can see them from your garden, who needs Norway!

Beautiful sunny morning here, but very chilly till midday, so warmer coat this morning for us.

Visit to the butcher to stock up on bacon and other basics, and apparently to the outlets to buy an egg poacher pan??? We do our poached eggs the proper way in boiling water, but this pan is a “life changer” according to my not at all overly dramatic friend!!! So, I’ll give it a try and buy one this morning.

Had French toast for breakfast but no idea what’s for the rest of the day food wise.

So, despite planning a day in, we’re heading out again, but will have a day in tomorrow where I can start uploading those pictures to laptop then smugmug.

But, happy Friday….. :sunny:

When the first doctor told me this I replied with “So, no heavy metal concerts?”

Wow! You got some amazing color. It is very rare that they can be seen this far south.

Caspian woke me up a few minutes ago demanding food. I had insomnia last night and didn’t get to sleep until after 3:00. Once I got to sleep i had crazy dreams. In one I was at work and several clients showed up with emotional support dogs. One client had brought 2 people with her and they had support dogs too. They finally went outside with them. There were about 7 dogs and a couple of cats too. I have no idea where they came from.
I’m going to try to get back to sleep. Maybe I will have more weird dreams. Thankfully I don’t have to work tomorrow.

Hi Charade: We have stayed at POFQ many times and it is our home resort (if we ever go back). It is smaller than the others and easier to navigate if you have mobility problems. My husband has those problems and the smaller fingerprint helped a lot. There are 2 bus stops but close to each other. We loved the food court. It has a small gift shop but it's nice. The pool looks like fun, but we are not pool people so have never tried it. There is a short walk to POR which is nice to do. We did it in about 8 minutes and we dont' move fast, LOL. You can use their pool if you want to. Their gift shop is much bigger and has more merchandise. Their fast food restaurant was always very good and a good value. We stayed in the Alligator Bayou section each time and absolutel
