Well friends it seems like June flew by let’s see what July has to offer. Hope it is something fabulous for everyone.

Good morning Mac and Carole

They did have oysters Robbie and yes, they were gorgeous!!
Good to hear you got your oysters.

We did have a wonderful evening last night. I think we have found our new favourite restaurant. All our meals were stunning, steaks, lamb and ribs were all amazing and yup, oysters to start and Tom and Kyle had a shrimp dish and those shrimps were mahoosive!!! We had gone there about 8 weeks ago for a meal and it was just as good then too, so we`ll definitely be back
Sounds like a wonderful night with good food and time with family.

I’m going to try to get back to sleep. I think I see an afternoon nap coming today
Charade hope you were able to rest.

Nassau, yesterday Pack them in like Sardines as far as eye can see ugh We just dipped tootsies and scurried back to ship after quick browse thru straw market lol
Nice pictures of your trip to the beach.

Gorgeous morning here, cool, but sunny, so we`re heading out walking! Hoping to do 5 miles this morning....maybe.
Enjoy your walk on the beach.

Up with the chickens this morning I have a dental appointment for teeth cleaning this early am. Had to have some breakfast as I have to take antibiotic premed before any dental cleaning or procedure. The antibiotics upset by stomach if I don’t have some food on board. I will admit going to the Dentist for anything is not my favorite thing to do.

I have an appt with the massage therapist at 11 this morning so I know the old muscles and joints will feel better afterwords.

Our weather cooled down last night into the low 60’s. We have been really hot and humid here. Nice for a tiny reprieve from the heat.

Have a wonderful Monday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

Thank you Robbie, it was a lovely evening, I always laugh at them looking away when I nosh on the oysters lol......

Good luck with the dental appointment, I think several of us don`t enjoy going there!!! And enjoy your massage later.

Our farmer next to us asked us to call in, so of course we did and he presented us with around 10kg of carrots and parsnips!!! Far too much for us, but I had onions, garlic and some peppers, roasted them all off in 2 large trays and then blended with scotch bonnet chillies, seasonings and chicken stock, popped into containers for the freezer, soup keeps well in a freezer so we`ll have those for cooler days.....maybe like today!!!

Didn`t think I`d be spending the first day of July making winter soup!! Tom was out volunteering so some 70`s and 80`s music blaring out in the kitchen while I made it was quite nice. Spicy and sweet!!

Chatting to one of my friends on the phone last night around 9.45 and she commented it does seem to be already getting darker earlier at night now the longest day has passed......depressing thought but she`s not wrong, we haven`t had a summer yet. Glad we walked this morning as rain has arrived and quite miserable looking outside, the sea is a very dark grey right now.

Time for a cuppa, another hour or so till Tom gets home, we`ll eat around 6ish, made a chicken, leek and mushroom pot pie dish, but with biscuit on top instead of pastry....anyone would think it was winter!!

🇨🇦🇨🇦 Happy Canada Day🇨🇦🇨🇦

@Robo56 for us, we love a tangy sourdough! You’re right, people’s tastes do vary. I can’t stand root beer! Lucky for us this bakery is near my daughter so when I go over I phone them ahead and ask them to put aside a couple of loaves. They freeze well.
Sadly I didn’t get any tomato plants this year.
I get some fruit from Costco, we don’t have Sam’s Club. It’s pretty good. Of course in season the farm stands are the best. But I think we won’t have local stone fruits, peaches etc. heard they took a bad hit this winter. It was warming up then had a late Arctic blast.

@Charade67 Caspian is pretty good at waking you up!

@keishashadow great photos!

@drenalin'junkie love the photo! We used to do this at WDW. Knew where all the cameras were!

@schumigirl sounds like a lovely day with Kyle. Marathon training, good for him! Yup crazy weather, early last week I was making winter soup. But it’s starting to warm up again, later in the week it’s supposed to get up to 27ish.

@Robo56 well at least you have something nice to look forward to after the dentist.

@drenalin'junkie does SW still have Clyde the Sea Lion shows. They used to have 2, the daytime show and Sealions after dark show which was hilarious. Any other shows? They had an animal actors show too and an Arial acrobatic show. It’s been so long since I’ve been. Going with the non coaster daughter! But will try to sneak in 1 coaster.

Clyde and Seamor shows still there Dolphin show lost the acrobats.
Killer whale show lost the human interaction.
New Cirque style show coming soon.
Concerts are pretty regular now as are festivals with food kiosks.
The newer rides are epic. Manta, Mako and Pipeline are as good or better than anywhere else.
Luau is gone.
Anything else just ask.

I tried root beer once....what the heck is that??? Gross!!!

We are so lucky with fresh produce here, mostly local but sometimes not as we don`t have a climate for pineapple and similar, but we buy local wherever possible.

I hope we still have some summer ahead too. We popped the heating on for half an hour last night, crazy!!

Yup, our outside lights all came on around 9.25 last night, week before we noticed them come on just after 10pm, last night was very cloudy though.

We have so many eggs from the other farm yesterday, we bought thirty as usual but they gave us 40 at no extra charge as they have so many eggs right now, chickens are very productive it seems, but 40 eggs, heck!! Definitely eggs for breakfast this morning.

Off to dentist this morning for this scan......never had one so I`m not sure what to expect, then go pick up Tom`s new glasses if they`re ready, looks like weather will be ok this morning but rain this afternoon.

Heading out for an early dinner with some friends tonight, and I mean an early dinner, meeting them at 4ish so we`ll eat around 5 then they drive down for an overnight stay at Heathrow Airport`s Sofitel ready for their flight out in the morning to Kuala Lumpur for a month, I think they are looking forward to fly in Business Suites with Malaysian Airlines this time, it does look amazing!!

It does seem to be brightening up now, hope the sun shines while we`re out, but not overly warm, maybe peak at 60f.

Have a lovely day ☺️

You will feel fantastic after your massage today Robbie!
I did, thank you Mac.

Good luck with the dental appointment, I think several of us don`t enjoy going there!!! And enjoy your massage later.
Thank you Carole. I do all the good things flossing, brushing etc and I still left with sore gums yesterday. For some reason the lady that does my teeth cleaning was having a bad morning…I let her know to return to her gentler self please.

The massage was wonderful. I always leave feeling lots better. I really recommend folks find a good massage therapist to see regularly they are worth their weight in good for sure.

Our farmer next to us asked us to call in, so of course we did and he presented us with around 10kg of carrots and parsnips!!! How nice of the farmer to share their bounty with you. Your soup sounds delicious.

Happy Canada Day🇨🇦
Happy belated Canada Day to you Sue.

well at least you have something nice to look forward to after the dentist.
This is true. I was thinking how wonderful it would be to see the massage therapist after the torture of the teeth cleaning this time.

We are so lucky with fresh produce here, mostly local but sometimes not as we don`t have a climate for pineapple and similar, but we buy local wherever possible.
It is wonderful to support local farmers.

We have so many eggs from the other farm yesterday, we bought thirty as usual but they gave us 40 at no extra charge as they have so many eggs right now, chickens are very productive it seems, but 40 eggs, heck!! Definitely eggs for breakfast this morning.
Wow…..sounds like some baking and egg dishes are in your furture.

Off to dentist this morning for this scan......never had one so I`m not sure what to expect, then go pick up Tom`s new glasses if they`re ready, looks like weather will be ok this morning but rain this afternoon.
Hope the scan goes off without a hitch.

Have a nice dinner out with your friends.

good morning homies!
Good morning Mac. Hope all is well with you.

Had my dentist appt for my every 6 months cleaning. I have the same Hygienist all the time. She is really good and gentle, but today she was on the rough side. I had to tell her to ease up a little when she was flossing my teeth. I’am not a hard clean. I take care of the old fangs pretty good so really no need to be intense with the cleaning. The dentist always comes in to check after the cleaning and always tells me everything looks good.

My gums were sore in one area of the lower left side of my mouth after the intense floss by the Hygienist. The Dentist said ‘your gum looks sore there” I told her to ask the “Punisher” how that happened and they started laughing. It was funny a little.

Had my appointment with the massage therapist a couple of hours later and the old joints and muscles felt so much better.

Up early this morning again. Have a few things around the house to take care of then I’am going outside and take advantage of the cooler weather this morning. I need to water some plants and a few other jobs then lazy afternoon.

I saw the prices drop significantly at RPR for some September dates. For any of the Sans family that stay there you might want to take a look, They stay pretty consistent with their prices like Portofino so this is nice deal if you can catch one.

They are setting off the fireworks in the neighborhoods around us. It will be like this until the 4th is over.

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

Quick lunchtime check in. These past several days have not been good to me. I seem to have a new problem each day. Yesterday it was ….well, let’s just call it digestive issues. I was miserable most of the day. I am feeling much better today and hopefully won’t have anymore problems.

B got a call the other day from a bookstore she applied to months ago. They want to bring her in for an interview. She’s torn because she would love to work at a bookstore, but also doesn’t want to leave Kroger.

We have no plans for the 4th. I think it’s supposed to rain all weekend.

Robbie, sometimes the hygienist appointments are rough when they get right into your gums, yes, they can be tender for a time, hope it`s eased now.

Yes, I forsee lots of baking, I did hand in half a dozen to one of my godchildren when we were passing their house tonight, they do like an egg now and again. Yes, supporting local businesses and farm stores is definitely what we like to do.

Glad the massage was good, I wish I liked them, yes, I`m odd, but not fond of them, I don`t mind a neck and shoulder massage, but that`s about it. However most of my friends love them and enjoy a spa day....I prefer the lunch that`s included usually lol

Charade......you are having a tough time right now. Hope the next few days brings you some relief, you`ve had some unpleasant things to deal with.

I would choose the book store for sure!!!! My idea of fun.

Dental scan was fine, wish the final implant ones were as pleasant. Got Tom`s new glasses, came home to a call from my cousin up near Manchester, her retirement party is right slap bang when we`re in Florida, sad we`ll miss it as it is in a gorgeous hotel where she lives.

Dinner was lovely, friends trying to convince us to go to Thailand with them later in the year, er, maybe not. Restaurant was in a lovely pub we had never been to before, it was very nice and we had a nice couple of hours with them before they set off for Heathrow.

Back home, had a cuppa and think it`ll be an early night for us.

Disney tends to leave us Canadians out
Pumpkin, I just read that you guys will have the same opportunities that we get in the US for prebooking. I'm glad they did this, but it seems a lot of international guests are upset about it.
lol....I know it`s not funny, but my childhood dentist was known as the butcher, I had to go to him after I was banned from the school dentist for being too afraid, she smacked my legs as I was so scared. It was 1973
No Wonder you don't like to go to the dentist! That is a horrible way to treat kids, even for 1973! And a dentist known as the butcher!!!! I thought our childhood dentist had a funny name too, dr. Fillinger, LOL. He wasn't scary. I can't imagine what you went through with those experiences!
Caspian woke me up around 3:00
Wow, I love animals, but would get upset if one woke me up that early. You are a good person :worship: :worship:and a good cat momma.:)
but now my back and sides are sore. I hurt every time I laugh or cough.
I'm so sorry to hear of your kidney stone problems. Those can be one of the most painful things to deal with, at least in my experience in the hospital with post op patients. I hope you are back to normal soon.
First time rider friend in stripes, regulars on either end and me napping.
Great picture and love the napping pose on your part.
Had a lovely day with Kyle, he enjoyed his run with about 15 others this morning which turned into an 18 mile run
Aw, bless him! He always surprises me with his long, long runs. I could never do that even when I was young. I've always been clumsy and can trip over nothing!
Chatted the day away while watching the Grand Prix, then had a nice dinner,
That sounds like a nice relaxing day watching one of your favorite sports:
Hello July
Ummmm? This July seems to be heading the way of our June! It is cooler than usual with high winds and lots of rain and thunderstorms. It will rain on the 4th of July too, so all those people celebrating outside will not be happy.
I have an appt with the massage therapist at 11 this morning
I have a wonderful massage therapist too. I go once a month which is a big help with my fibro/arthritis problems. I always feel wonderful after a massage. You are right! A good massage therapist IS worth her weight in gold. A massage is the only thing that seems to help me with my fibro/arthritis. If I was rich, I would go to her once a week, but wishful thinking.
Our farmer next to us asked us to call in, so of course we did and he presented us with around 10kg of carrots and parsnips!
I don't think I've ever eaten that much in my lifetime. Wow! At least you have winter soup base:)
Killer whale show lost the human interaction.
We had the good fortune to go to Sea World when they had the human interaction with the whales. We never gave a thought to it actually being dangerous. I can see why they stopped that, but it was wonderful to see at the time. I watched Black Fish and was amazed at what was going on.
we bought thirty as usual but they gave us 40
Oh no, it was nice of him But what are you going to do with 40 eggs?
Off to dentist this morning for this scan.
I hope all goes well at the scan so you can get started on the implant.
I still left with sore gums yesterday.
That is awful, Robo. I have never had sore gums after a teeth cleaning. What was wrong with that dental tech?
The massage was wonderful. I always leave feeling lots better. I really recommend folks find a good massage therapist to see regularly they are worth their weight in good for sure.
Sorry, I must have hit this subject twice!
Quick lunchtime check in. These past several days have not been good to me. I seem to have a new problem each day. Yesterday it was ….well, let’s just call it digestive issues. I was miserable most of the day
I hope you are feeling better now - that's no fun and especially at work.
B got a call the other day from a bookstore
Did she get the job at the bookstore? I hope she finds what she wants to do.

I'm being lazy this afternoon. It's warm and very windy outside - so windy that you can't enjoy being outside. Rain is coming in on the 4th for 5 days in a row!!! It seems we can't get out of that cycle. It feels like another cool, rainy summer this year:(

I just wrapped my daughter's birthday present. It took me 3 months to make working on it when I could. It's a beige afghan that she hinted for a while ago. It was fun to do and I learned a new stitch called the star stitch, which is now my favorite:) I also finished the baby girl quilt - well, just need to hand sew the edging down:) Now I'm out of projects for others. I'm working on a summer top for me, I just hope I can get it done before fall, LOL.

Tonight it is pork steaks with rice. It has a quick and easy sauce to make which is delicious.

Have a good rest of Tuesday, everyone:)

I think we`re going to have similar weather Ruth, today was a mix of rain and sunshine, more rain tomorrow and same on Thursday. Joy.

Oh she`s going to love the gift you made her, you are such a talented family!!! I showed my friend Sue the picture you sent me of the afghan and she admired it immensely, she`s like me and can sew a button on, that`s about it with sewing talents.

Good luck with the summer top lol......

Ruth, I could write a book about horrible dental experiences. Best one I ever had was out in the UAE and in Celebration, FL. However, my dentist last few years is very good and understands my general thoughts on dental appointments....

1719954896398.jpeg

Well, we gave away half a dozen eggs tonight to one of my godsons and his wife, I plan to bake a fair bit and we can eat a good amount of poached eggs most days. They are incredibly fresh as they had just been laid, so they`ll last a while anyway.

10kg of carrots isn`t as much as you`d think, once they are roasted down with the other veg, they don`t look like just as much, but all frozen now into gorgeous soup!!

lol...I could never run either, I played hockey and netball at school, once I left school never thought about doing any sport ever again! I`m more a viewer ::yes:: but, Kyle has always been sporty in some way or another, however running is something he absolutely loves and excels in......I always wonder where he gets it from!!

Enjoy the rest of your day!!

@drenalin'junkie thanks so much! The dolphin show was very Cirque-ish! Was a beautiful show. Too bad they lost the acrobats. I watched a Rix video today, they were in SeaWorld and just rode new coaster on preview. Penguin Encounter. I’ll probably have to just pick 1 coaster as daughter coming isn’t a coaster fan. Other daughter would ride them all lol!
Do they still give AAA ticket discount? Is the ticket with food worth it? Will probably just do 1 day.

@schumigirl yup, Rootbeer is pretty gross. I don’t drink a lot of pop anyway but that stuff :crazy2:
It’s been cool here the last few days but sun has been out, with a nice cool breeze. Last week fireplace was on!!! By the end of this week the heat will be dialed up. I think high 20’s or 30.
I hope we don’t have too many fires this season.
We do a combo of veg stands and grocery for produce. It’s going to be hard finding things as a late winter blast ruined a lot of crops. I miss our fresh eggs. Friend who has chickens isn’t getting much from them, they’re getting too old.

@macraven :wave2:

@Robo56 sorry hygienist was so rough! But a massage after was just the thing to calm nerves. I have a massage appointment coming up. She’s great. She does this thing before massage where I sit on the table, and she’s standing behind me and guides me thru some gentle moves that helps realign my spine. First time I thought it didn’t do anything. But when I got home and had to go upstairs I was stunned, no pain!
The Punisher :rotfl2:

@Charade67 hopefully things will start looking up for you! Maybe B will have a clearer idea of where she wants to work after the bookstore interview. Good luck to her.

@schumigirl -aww that’s too bad your friends retirement party is while you’re away.

@disneyseniors where did you read Disney is now including Canadians? This was such a bad shortsighted decision by Disney about international visitors. What were they thinking? Before this recent decision all who stayed onsite had the same opportunities.

This morning we went to Costco to pick up a few things, then met and old work friend at the local pub for lunch. We had a nice catch up! After I went to the hardware store 2 doors down to get a furnace filter and some ant spray. I see a couple of nests along the driveway.
Tomorrow I plan on making zucchini muffins for a church funeral on Saturday. While the temps are still reasonable. I don’t want to turn on oven when it’s hotter than the surface of the sun.

Funny, the farm next to us gave up their chickens last year. He would give us so many eggs and wouldn`t charge us a penny which we didn`t like, but they do get most of our fruit off the trees for their jams/chutney`s/pies so it worked out I guess. The farm one over from us is where we get our eggs now, can`t get fresher.

Oh she`s my cousin who is retiring from CID. I am surprised as she loves her job, but quite rightly she`s decided she doesn`t want to be working beyond age 57. It`s funny when Tom retired early she said it was something she`d never do, but pleased for her now as I think she`ll enjoy being a lady of leisure.

Woke up to some rain this morning, only around low 50`s so far, but might get up to high 60`s later.

Tom and I both volunteering this morning, I have breakfast muffins which used up some of our eggs and will have some mango and melon to go with them today, grilled turkey, brie and cranberry sandwiches for lunch and caribbean jerk chicken for dinner tonight, will pop the chicken on skewers with some hot peppers, courgette, mushroom and onions on other skewers with some coconut rice, hope to grill them outside as the rain should be long gone by then.

Our General Election tomorrow.....no July 4th celebrations with that one! Politicians are all the same, promise us everything and delivers nothing, but, we always vote, regardless.

Definitely cooler this morning, our gardener is supposed to be coming but with the rain I doubt he`ll get the lawns done, fruit trees seem to be slower this year in blossoming, hope that`s not a bad omen for the fruit yield.

Time for more tea, we`re both out pretty early this morning so won`t be hanging around for long.

Have a wonderful Wednesday

@macraven :wave2:

Not sure about the AAA as we get APs. The food deal is OK but we generally eat at festival kiosks or have a meal in Sharks underwater grill. @ $6 a pop for water, it might be worth is during the summer.
