Something About Nothing............ #14

cats murder button….😆

It`s a good un isn`t it.....made me laugh lol....

Not sure about the AAA as we get APs. The food deal is OK but we generally eat at festival kiosks or have a meal in Sharks underwater grill. @ $6 a pop for water, it might be worth is during the summer.

We`ve only been to Sharks Underwater Grill once with keisha and her husband, we were impressed with it, all our meals were lovely.

Busy morning, I had fun with the reading, Tom got home and said they asked if he`d do the afternoon too......he knew I`d prefer him not to, don`t want him there too often.

Just finished lunch, little early but we were both starving!! Nothing unusual there.

Got a friend popping round soon for a cuppa, she`s passing this area so always tries to pop in when she can.

Kettle on now.....

My day started very promising… then it changed when I went to pick up my medicine at walgreens.

An error on a refill that I caught and now will wait until Walgreens corrects it.

it’s only taken since 8:00 this morning when the error occurred… now after 11:00 but is worth the wait.

Good thing I have it settle now.
Bad thing is….wait time of two more hours before I can pick it up.

Well, it’s not like I have better things to do with my time….

In the past when I would pick up my meds, never checked the package as assumed all was fine.

Would get home and most times never checked the walgreens bag until hours later.

Just assumed no issues or oops..

Now I always check my paid medicines before I leave the counter.

Will be another hot day where I am.
I gladly take it as never had snow where we live now.

With ac, it’s livable in the south.

Quick Tuesday stop in!!!

We had an extra long lazy weekend! It was a good little road trip. Seen a little bit of wildlife on our drive. We also watched someone on an ATV crash - and seen the bike roll and roll and roll. WE stopped and hopped out of the car, phones in hand, gearing up for what we might come across. Just as we got close to the guy- he jumps up dusts himself off, and after a few words - we were back on our way. He said he was ok. I hope he took my advice and stop in at a medical centre for a quick check over.

We had a great visit with bil and his fiancé. The weather was hot hot hot!!! With lots of bugs!!!! We enjoyed all the moments. Enjoyed the land of the midnight sun. They have 3 bird houses that are by their deck - this was the highlight of being outside. We watched momma birds feeding her little ones - and seen 3 little ones leave the nest with their mommas.

Well....I started this post yesterday, and got busy with tasks. I was going to finish it last night - but it ended up being a lazy night with a few phone calls to family members.

Woke up to cold cloudy skies again today. Last night - we were dressed in long pants, sweaters sitting on the couch with blankets on. It was sooo chilly. I am waiting for summer to arrive here. My body NEEDS the warmth. That warmth that soaks into your bones so they don't ache anymore. I told dh we need to win the lottery so that we can buy some property south to escape to in the winter. The forecast looks promising for the weekend.

I will be doing a quick Costco stop tonight after work. We need a few things again. I have chicken defrosting for dinner tonight. Not sure what I'll do with it yet - hoping to grill it. I am hoping to make some quick muffins of some sort for my morning breakfast. Since it is so cool outside. It will help to warm up the house.

I am home. I was finally released at 11:15. It was indeed a kidney stone. I think it may have passed while in the hospital.
I am glad that passed for you, but that you still are unwell. I'll be sending you lots of healing thoughts and light.
Today will be 8 years since one of my very closest friends passed away far too young at 50, but we do always remember the fun times and all the laughter we had together over the years we knew her. So, while it`s a day we won`t forget, we will always celebrate her, she`d like that as she did love a bottle of wine!!!
There are too many people who pass away too young :( And it always happens to those who are amazing people. It is great to celebrate her!
I bought little J a large potted cherry tomato plant a couple of months ago and he is keeping his tomato plant watered. It is on their patio and getting plenty of sun. He is already harvesting tomatoes off his plant. He loves cherry tomatoes.
That is awesome!!!!!!!
Pumpkin, I just read that you guys will have the same opportunities that we get in the US for prebooking. I'm glad they did this, but it seems a lot of international guests are upset about it.
I am sooooooo glad to hear that! I have seen on a couple of other threads that they have changed their policy on that. I think that amount of backlash they were getting was the change in policy.
It’s been cool here the last few days but sun has been out, with a nice cool breeze. Last week fireplace was on!!! By the end of this week the heat will be dialed up. I think high 20’s or 30.
I hope we don’t have too many fires this season.
We do a combo of veg stands and grocery for produce. It’s going to be hard finding things as a late winter blast ruined a lot of crops.
It has been unseasonably cold here too. We need some sun and warmth now - or crops won't be able to grow. We don't need any more agriculture disasters happening either. It is such a delicate dance between too much rain/cool weather and warm/hot weather.

Now I always check my paid medicines before I leave the counter.
I am the same. It is too easy for people to make mistakes. No one is perfect - and I don't fault them, but I will always double check.

Well, I should get more tasks completed off my to-do list.

Have a great day everyone :wave2:

Glad you picked up on it.

Thank you, yes, she was one in a million!! Why is it always the good one`s and so many asp wipes still roam the planet.

We have been cooler too this last week, we put the heating on for half an hour last night, and we were tempted today till the sun appeared mid aftenoon. Weather is all over the place.

Move to Georgia if you want heat.
Only draw back is you will need ac on and not venture out of your house during the summer day.

I could live with a/c on all day!!! Just give me the chance to do so......lol.....

Yup, it is a little cool tonight, certainly cooler than July should be, it was nice for an hour or so this afternoon, so we did get to sit outside with our friend for a cuppa. She brought her son too who is home right now for a few days, always a joy to see him. He is just home from Orlando so didn`t let him give us any spoilers of the new things in the park, but he and his friends all had a blast!!!

Didn`t cook out tonight, we had some rain, so dinner cooked inside, but it was still lovely all the same.

Baked a couple of sponge cakes today, one lemon and one cherry vanilla, nice to go with a pot of tea soon.

Lazy night ahead ::yes::

Just left Costco, 5 o'clock day before a holiday in a town center in shallow yuppie central. Wife is obviously hobbling along and people were just horrible with carts. Fortunately she's from the Bronx and a few of them will have limp for a few days.
Happy early 4th to the US crew!

@schumigirl I’m wondering if they’ll get more chickens! Hope so, fresh eggs are the best!
Good luck with elections! We always vote too, feels sometimes like picking the best of 2 evils.

@drenalin'junkie thanks I’ll have to remember that, Sharks underwater grill. $6 for a bottle of water :scared: I always bring a collapsible cup or water bottle to the parks. I assume quick service will give you a cup of water at SeaWorld! At Universal I use water from the pop machines. I’ll have to look up if there’s any festivals while we’re there. Always fun. I love the food kiosks at Universal Mardi Gras.

@macraven good thing you caught the pharmacy error right away! I think I’ll start checking my bag too now! That could be deadly giving someone the wrong Rx.

@Pumpkin1172 yikes that’s scary. Rolling several times on a bike! I’ll bet a few hours after accident he’ll be feeling all the aches.
Yeah I’ll bet wdw got a lot of push back on that stupid decision! Wonder who was behind that one!
Come down here, I think today is the last day of pleasant weather before it’s 30 for a stretch. We leave for the Sunshine Coast Sunday and will be oceanfront so hopefully will be a tad cooler on the ocean!
Our stone crops are in bad shape. No peaches this summer. .

@drenalin'junkie that made me laugh about Costco carts! What’s with people in Florida using them as battering rams? The WDW strollers really gets me! I’ve been ran into many times, right on back of ankle :headache: the worst it gets here is when people just leave cart in middle of aisle when looking at stuff.

Today is last of pleasant weather before it gets stinking hot. Nice breeze and sunshine. I decided to get baking done before the heat. Had to bake some muffins for the funeral Saturday. So baked about 50-60 zucchini mini muffins.

Also did some laundry. Dried outside quickly.

Tomorrow have surgeons appt, hopefully sutures will come out. Last appt it wasn’t ready.

Question for anyone so I can figure out an issue.

I was posting in the sans thread, took 15 minute break and returned and saw I had to register to be on the boards

Completely blocked out.

Really started to feel like the Redhead on the boards.

Pw was invalid….ugh

By chance tried again to get back home here and tried again…..

Guess my mantra I chanted…there’s no place like home, worked as here I am ..
Woot

Not going to try to figure it out.

I am back home here now and

If I disappear again, send out the doggies to find me…

That’s very strange. Sometimes when my computer is doing strange things I reboot it.

I do think it`s a question of who is the best of a bad bunch with politicians.

I would ban those darn wagons at Universal, they are worse than strollers and usually filled with "stuff" and not kids, honestly it is crazy. Imagine every single person visiting the park brought one? You`d never be able to move. We even saw a double decker version, I have a picture somewhere as it was just obscene and all decorated as if it was a Princess castle. Huge.

This wasn`t your monthly moderator sign in? If it `s different then maybe your phone was doing an update, and settings can sometimes change. Not that I`m an expert of course, but if it keeps up, contact Corey again, he`ll help :)

It is frustrating when you can`t get online at times.

Yup, General Election day is here.....always think of keisha and her "vote early vote often" mantra....lol.....

Our polling station is in our village school, so it`s very handy, we`ll probably go vote after we walk and shop today. Not going to be too cool today, but heck.....very, very windy again. We did plan to walk along the shore front, but might just be a tad windy. We`ll see.

Still have the breakfast muffins I baked a few days ago, they keep well so that and some mango we have left and Tom has rasperries too. No idea about lunch but dinner will be salmon fillet if we can get a large salmon this morning, we get him to take the head and tail off, scale and bone it and we take the two side fillets and portion them ourselves. Salmon are usually large so we get about 6 meals out of one salmon. If we don`t get salmon we`ll pick something else from him, maybe get some crab for lunch too, we have the best crab around here.

Although maybe as we usually celebrate Independence Day with our American friends, we might just get steak and I have a teapot with the American flag on it, so that`ll be out in honour of today too 🇺🇸

Sun is shining, did think we might get to eat breakfast outside this morning, but the wind is getting up already!

But, Thursday is here.....and a huge celebration over in the USA, hope you all have a wonderful day!!!!

Happy 4th!!

IMG_0552.jpeg

I woke up way too early this morning. Everyone else, including Caspian, is still asleep. We are supposed to have a high of 94 today, so I am thinking about doing some shopping in a nice, air conditioned mall.

I would choose the book store for sure!!!! My idea of fun.
I think the bookstore would be less stress for her, but I think she has gotten fairly comfortable with the Kroger job. She doesn’t really like change.

I'm so sorry to hear of your kidney stone problems. Those can be one of the most painful things to deal with, at least in my experience in the hospital with post op patients. I hope you are back to normal soon.
Thank you. I think the only time I felt more pain was during childbirth.

Did she get the job at the bookstore? I hope she finds what she wants to do.
No interview yet.

I just wrapped my daughter's birthday present. It took me 3 months to make working on it when I could. It's a beige afghan that she hinted for a while ago.
That’s a gift she will cherish. I still have a couple of crocheted afghans my mom made ages ago. I just wish I had a place to display them where the cat couldn’t get to them.

lol...I could never run either, I played hockey and netball at school, once I left school never thought about doing any sport ever again!
Add me to the no run club. I am horribly unathletic.

I don’t want to turn on oven when it’s hotter than the surface of the sun.
I have banned the use if the oven for now. High 90’s this week.

Our General Election tomorrow.....no July 4th celebrations with that one! Politicians are all the same, promise us everything and delivers nothing, but, we always vote, regardless.
I am dreading our presidential election this year. I am not happy with either candidate.

Now I always check my paid medicines before I leave the counter.
Good practice. I usually just trust the pharmacy too.

How scary. Glad he was okay, and I agree that he should get some medical attention.

I am glad that passed for you, but that you still are unwell. I'll be sending you lots of healing thoughts and light.
Thanks. It has been a strange week for me medically.

You are brave. I need to go to Sam’s but not on a holiday weekend.

Tomorrow have surgeons appt, hopefully sutures will come out. Last appt it wasn’t ready.

I hate those. I’m not too fond of strollers either, but understand the necessity. I wouldn’t want to drag a wagon through a theme park.Or one of those huge backpacks either. I carry the least amount of stuff I can get away with.

Now I’m hungry, so I am going to see what I can find for breakfast.

B had a bad day yesterday so I sent her this meme to cheer her up.

Well, actually I was referencing my iPad! But just as well be a computer!

Oh sheesh! I’ve heard about those decorated wagons! I don’t get it. Hope Universal bans them too like Disney did.
Our polling place is our elementary school our kids went to! It’s nice to see everyone walking up, always run into people we know and have a chat.
Mmm love both Salmon and crab. Can’t go wrong with either! Not sure what type of salmon you get, the first time I had salmon in Florida I was surprised how different it was from our west coast BC salmon!
Happy 4th!!

Ha! Love the Stormtrooper! Happy 4th to everyone! Thanks, fingers crossed he feels it’s ok to remove stitches today.
I think you should wake Caspian up! Turnaround is fair play, lol!

Oven not going on today! Going to be low 90’s. I think I’ll start setting aside a few things for my trip. I’ve already washed some shorts and capris. Now have to look at shirts. And pack a book. I may be on my own one day for a couple hours. My friends are thinking about kayaking. But I can’t get arm wet, in ocean or lake! But I’ll enjoy my time reading by the ocean. A friend just gave me a book that a friend of hers just wrote! I read the first chapter and sounds good.

Happy 4th!!

Your daughter might be better where she is then, not everyone is good with change, but it sounds like it would be a good fit for her in the bookstore.

I`ll never be athletic again, I wasn`t ever overly good at sports in school, but I did enjoy it, now walking is our limit, if we do 4-6 miles a day we`re happy with that.

I do think if we had better options in Government in might be different, but like you, I don`t think any of our candidates are worth tuppence.

I wish they would ban them, there might come a time they`ll have to as there are just so many of them now.

We get our salmon from Scotland, best in the world. We sometimes order online from a few places up there that do next day delivery, but this fishmonger gets fish direct from Scotland too, so it`s convenient for us to pick some up direct from him if we`re up his way.

I don`t eat salmon in America, not really sure why, but it doesn`t appeal to me. We prefer fish that hasn`t been farmed which a lot of salmon is of course.

Nice sounding weather you have!!

Voted early, the polling station was deserted, the man said he couldn`t find my name....seems he thought I said Sarah as my first name, it was my grandma`s name and I still have an aunt with that name and two cousins, so it is a kind of family name. He found me eventually.

Then up the coast a little to the fish man we like, and we got a whopper of a salmon, all gutted and filleted as we like, cut it into portions back home and put most in the freezer with two large pieces for tonight.

Still windy here, little bit of rain and feeling cool. Looks like a winter`s day out there apart from the odd burst of sunshine now and again.

Think Tom is making some tea, I`m watching Marnie, classic Hitchcock at his best.

My photoshop skills suck!!!!

I did try with the help of my friend who is as useless as me at photoshop to bring out the fox in the tree behind the deer, but made it worse I think and it looks just like a white blur!!! There is a fox in there....

Beautiful creature who is so very gentle.

Enjoyed our salmon, made an apple pie, that is my contribution to July 4th celebrations so we`ll have that later when I make some tea, going to call my mum first, she eats later too so always give her a chance to finish.

Then some tv I think tonight.....

Hope you all have a lovely celebration today :)

It’s glorious. ‘Hard’ variety or as a float with hard pack vanilla ice cream. Yum
We`ve only been to Sharks Underwater Grill once with keisha and her husband, we were impressed with it, all our meals were lovely.
I think twice? Or not lol
Move to Georgia if you want heat.
Only draw back is you will need ac on and not venture out of your house during the summer day.
Haha all I need is a week plus here to remind me of why I don’t move south
Well don’t have a computer so wasn’t aware of that.
Hard reset on phone good to do at least once a month to clear cache

We drove out to Roanoke, had lunch at Red Robin, and now it is pouring outside. We are still in the restaurant hoping the rain will slack off soon.

My friends are thinking about kayaking. But I can’t get arm wet, in ocean or lake! But I’ll enjoy my time reading by the ocean. A friend just gave me a book that a friend of hers just wrote! I read the first chapter and sounds good.
I think a couple of hours of reading beats kayaking any day, but I’m not much of a water person.

seems he thought I said Sarah as my first name, it was my grandma`s name and I still have an aunt with that name and two cousins,
One of my grandmothers was also Sarah. She gave the name to one of my aunts as well. I wish she had named my mom Sarah instead of the name she got. Mom always hated her name.

I’m a day behind on pics.
Thanks for sharing.

Lynne - good to see you.

The rain has slowed down so we are going to make a break for it.
