Something About Nothing............ #14

It's Friday :cheer2:

Quiet night last night. I did manage to drag myself to the gym and get some exercise in. I didn't break any records last night- but I did drag my bu!! off the couch and do it.

I'm tying to hit 12,000 everyday in Nov. So I was needing to get some steps in. It's hard at my jobs - as I don't do much walking around. I try to get up and walk around a little bit several times during the day. And that's why I leave for lunch and go walk around stores - to get some steps in. So I'll let you know how I do on that front over the month.

I don't laugh - because you used to live in cold climates! You know the struggle of living in those cold temps. Everyone is trying to get acclimated to the colder temps right now.

It sounds like it will be a fantastic weekend. There is no better way to spend a weekend!!!!!

Yum!!!!!!

That sounds like a fun weekend on the horizon.

Dh had that happen with his most recent ones. The second set was much better.

We still have a landline as well. It is part of a package and honestly only spend 5.00/month for it so we will keep it. Because in an emergency - if we use it - dispatching any medical, fire, RCMP will be able to send help WAYYYYYYYYYYY faster than trying to track a cell phone - which is why we will keep it. I've also told my parents to keep theirs as well - for that same reason.

Steaks - yum!!!! I'm pulling some chicken thighs and legs out to grill tonight! We have amazing weather - today is supposed to be +10C which is WARM for us at this time of year....so one more night to fire up the grill!

Well, I should track down some paperwork.

Have a great day everyone!

Good luck with the steps, it`s hard when you work and your job limits your movement, you`ll do fine.

I convinced my mum to keep her landline for the very same reason, she wanted to get rid of it as everyone was telling her she didn`t need it. Her mobile phone is something she is not fond of, so it`s a constant battle to remind her to charge it and keep it with her. Well it paid off last year when she actually collapsed and broke her leg, she managed to use the landline to get help from one of my brothers. She decided then she`ll keep it.

Ours is included the Broadband package including all our tv channels, fastest broadband there is and yes, a landline.

And enjoy the last of that nicer weather!!!

I love it. You have a big display. That is so cool. There are many halloween well know favorites. I bet it is a job setting up and taking down the display. So nice you do that for everyone to enjoy.

Great to hear the party was a success. Very nice of you to give back the GC. I’am sure they will find a happy home for it.

He has really been into the MInions past few months. He loves to watch the movies.

That is so funny that Elise has grown out of her Minion faze and now thinks its for babies. She will have another favorite I’am sure.

Salsa sounds good as does your homemade pasta sauce.

Sounds like a shifty issue with that Pharmacy for sure. Glad it was sorted out so you could get your needed eye drops.

Thank you Ruth. Sorry to hear you have problems with PF too. It is not fun to deal with for sure.

I actually have two things going on in my left foot. PF and a fracture of one of the top bones on my foot. The PF is feeling better, but I’am having an issue getting that bone to heal.

Did your Podiatrist every suggest you get custom fitted orthotic inserts for your shoes to help with the the PF flare ups?

It is miserable when it flares up. There are a few others on the Sans here that have issues with PF too.

I hope you have a wonderful trip to Universal without any issues with your feet.

Carole so good to hear you are feeling better after your dental procedure.

Mac hope all goes well with your cataract surgery when it happens.

Halloween party was a fun. Everyone enjoyed the food and and desserts. Sent home a lot of desserts and treats with family.

I made goodie bags for everyone so the littles did not need to trick or treat unless they wanted too.

Like Pumpkin we only had about 15 Trick or Treater’s. I always have a variety of big candy bars in my cauldron container and we just let the trick or Treater’s dig in and get what they want.

Some of the family took my Halloween decorations upstairs for me after the party. That helped a lot. I took the rest down yesterday afternoon and evening. Everything is put away. Now it is time to decorate for Christmas.

It is always nice to have cheerful lights and decorations in the house.

Lazy day for the day. Not a lot planned. Need to drop by the bank and pick up a few things at the store.

I refused to look at Christmas decorations until Halloween was over…LOL

Had lunch out with my sister and little J Wednesday. We went to HomeGoods and Tj Max and I did find something I thought was cute. Although I do have a chimney I had never seen this before so thought is was unique.

Son and daughter in law are coming over tomorrow to bring my Christmas bins down from the storage room so I can decorate.

Need to get moving.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone one doing whatever makes you happy.

Shout out to Tink and everyone who does not post here anymore. You are missed and thought of. Hope everyone is doing well.

Elise, since she has changed schools has grown a little too fast. Her mother wanted her to go to Boarding School, still quite close to her dad and us too, but he said no way. However she did want to go to that school as some of her friends are there, so the compromise was she goes, but as a day student, so she gets to come home at night and she loves it, but yes, she seems to be maturing a little too quickly. I suppose in a good way.

Thank you, feeling much better, it was certainly not as painful a procedure as I thought it would be.

Where we used to live, the home up there didn`t have a chimney, so when Kyle was very young, Father Christmas left sent a key ahead so he could get in.....it still hangs on our tree every year, so yes, I`d have that too. Funnily enough it was my closest friend who gave us it, she is Jewish and of course doesn`t celebrate Christmas, but she heard Kyle wonder when he was very young how Father Christmas would get into this house that had no chimney and went out and bought this beautiful key with a red ribbon. Bless her.

Glad your party went well and I`m glad you had a lot of help to clear up and you`ll have your Christmas stuff brought down too. We will do our trees and inside decorations next weekend.....very early for us, but can`t wait!!!

Have a lovely weekend.

I’m still leaning toward tuna salad Sammie vs the left over stew.

Inspired, think I’ll pull out a couple of steaks to grill sunday. Will still be unseasonably warm

Woohoo that will be a ton of fun for you

my older two DS have their first (and probably only) HS Football playoff game tonight. At least the team they coach made it to the dance.

We are at 60 & sunny, a very nice break after being in the 20’s and first snow of the year

As she should, what a great time for her

Yes, I wound up watching Vincent price in house on haunted hill this week. It’s holding up more campy than anything else at this point

I’ve started to do the steps in the house twice, vs once each time I need to use them at home. May try to up it next week. Good cardio

Yes, we are still at it, slowly but, surely. Had wondered how you would manage with that boot. I never did get to the point using it where I didn’t feel like an absolute klutz

Lol good for him. The mr found one of the GD’s old fart guns. He snuck up upon me with it today. It’s good for a cheap laugh

Perhaps a 3rd, arthritis, adding to the mayhem.

slow & steady, you will get there

Oh how nice of them. I brought out a couple of tablecloths today, they are still sitting on the back of one the DR chairs. think I’ll take the weekend off before digging out those bins

Funny, tho; i put the usual Knick knacks away for holiday decorating…the house almost looks to have a minimalist vibe going…oh so not me

That is a good movie, but can see what you mean with the campy feeling. We do enjoy those old black and white movies though, well, some......some just don`t hold up and sadly the Rue Morgue movie was one of them....it was ok, it was very atmospheric, but lacked any real scares. Think Abbott & Costello would do it better....lol......

Enjoy those steaks and much nicer weather is something to take advantage of.

Good evening. The bonfire tonight was nice. It wasn’t too cold out, so we had a pleasant evening. We had s’mores and hot apple cider.
Tomorrow is the football game. We have the choice to go to our regular tailgate or to the alumni tailgate. I told dh we should go to both and see which has the better food.

Glad the bonfire was fun and yes, good food is essential!!

Up with the larks, even earlier than usual this morning to get ready for our breakfast guests, they very good friends and would be happy with toast and tea, but Tom is offering Eggs Benedict, french Toast with bacon and syrup with muffins, croissants, preserves, meats and fruit. Several pots of tea will be served up too. Cant wait to see her.

The rest of the day we have not a single plan, going to do some laundry, housework and some movies this afternoon and evening. No rain this morning but due later.

Going to have Chinese takeout tonight, support our local businesses....that`s my excuse for not cooking on a Saturday night and I`m sticking to it!!

I`m sure we`ll hear another night of fireworks again tonight, we could hear them and see them in the distance last night, some were ridiculous as they were quite far away but we could still hear them. Party pooper is here......😉

Have a lovely Saturday :cheer2:

Gotta be some relations here. We watched Vincent Price in The Last Man on Earth this week. They've had a lot of his movies on for Halloween.
ETA is currently 8am @ the IOA gate. Nary a text from the slugabeds meeting us. We just had Publix cannolis for breakfast with our old people pills. DW does most of the driving so I'm keeping food and drinks on tap and playing DJ.
Great weekend to all, expect a pic or two.

Yay, live park report from Junkie. Hope you have some fantastic park fun. Yum, I’m a cannoli fan.

Up early and enjoying my cup of tea. Restless bedmate got me up after the five or six times he got up and came back to bed, from about two hours ago. So, long hot shower and just bacon and toast. Have a late morning breakfast reservation for me, and one other, at a new restaurant that just opened for only breakfast and lunch.

And hoping it may be older one. But maybe not. He took today off. Don’t blame him. Birthday guy today. I know he wants dinner at his favorite restaurant, so have already made reservations. Can be busy on a Saturday night.

Ah, the alarm off, but no matter. Early birds are awake. DH is doing something on his laptop. I have the tv remote. Not much on that is interesting yet. But I like the background noise of it.

Super sized, most wonderful Saturday to all.

Well that was a rather lovely morning! Having early guests works out nicely and it was so lovely to see the new Consultant, I keep saying Doctor but she is a Consultant as her very proud dad kept reminding us......she is loving life in London and loves her job, she is such a kind and empathetic soul, she`ll have a wonderful career I`m sure, she`s certainly worked hard enough for it.

We enjoyed a feast and certainly won`t need lunch today, that would be incredibly greedy, but we might snack a little later as we have some muffins and fruit left along with some proscuitto and we went through a few bottles of prosecco for mimosa`s.....it`s not brunch without those!!

Once they left after a lot of hugs, we cleared up and as the sun is shining we might brave a walk together this afternoon, I think the stitches should be ok now. It is cold however so we`ll be well wrapped up for that, a walk will be nice after those mimosa`s!! Might have a cup of tea first as we didn`t drink a whole lot of tea.....wonder why....lol......

So happy to have seen her.......:)

We have the choice to go to our regular tailgate or to the alumni tailgate. I told dh we should go to both and see which has the better food.
Lol doesn’t that mean you have to double up on your dish?

What’s your go to?

I stick with a crockpot of of some sort of easy to eat sandwich filling or Italian pasta
Think Abbott & Costello would do it better....lol......
They make everything better
Cant wait to see her.
That is quite the spread! I’m sure she loved it

One of my favorite horror movies. :worship:

Remember seeing it for first time as a tween and being stunned as I had never seen that sort of film prior (akin to 28 days later vibe).

The will smith remake was a joke

Today’s itinerary up in the air, waiting to see if I need to play last minute chauffeur today. I tend to be the go to, especially when plans fall thru. AKA retired :crowded:with time on my hands.

Good morning. I'm having a lazy morning before getting ready for the homecoming festivities. I could have gone to the alumni breakfast this morning, but to lazy to get up early and be there at 8:30.

How very sweet and thoughtful of her. We never had a chimney until a few years ago. A Santa key never crossed my mind.

We belong to a sort of athletic booster club and they provide the meals. This week will be your standard burgers and bbq chicken. Each game is something different. They also provide a climate controlled area with tables and chairs for us. I don't know what will be served at the alumni tailgate.

I should get up and get some breakfast/brunch. Dinner will be early tonight since our game starts at 6:00.

Retired with time on our hands........I love that!!!!

Yes, it was lovely, everyone had full tummies and everyone wanted French Toast which kept me busy, but I love it!

Remakes of anything tend to be poor. We watched a couple of old Hammer Horror movies yesterday afternoon, classic British horrors without the vast money of Hollywood, but they have their charm and terrified the bejeesus out of many of us in their day.

It was very thoughtful of her and I did the same for my friends granddaughter Elise. When she was four, I wrapped up a similar key and wrote a note from Santa saying she had to leave it hanging outside on Christmas Eve so only he could get in. On Christmas morning Santa had left it on the table for next year beside the empty glass of milk, she loved it!

Hope you had a nice time last night.

Enjoyed a lovely evening last night, Chinese food was excellent, we ended up going to the restaurant and sitting in, haven`t been there for a while and it was lovely. Came home and opened a rather nice bottle of wine that ended up being two bottles......so late night for us and ended up watching Sleepless in Seattle , usually keep that for Christmas, but, felt like watching it. I think it was around 1am when we went to bed which is late for us!!

So, as we are a little tired this morning, I can`t see us going anywhere, don`t need any shopping so will content ourselves to stay in. We have the Brazilian Grand Prix later tonight, so absolutely a lazy day for us with some stodgy food which should be the law after drinking a few more than normal!

French Toast with bacon and maple syrup again this morning, and I have chicken thighs in the slow cooker with a whole load of stuff, will smell lovely soon enough of rosemary, garlic, onions and the chicken too, luverly!!! Don`t usually need lunch after a bigger breakfast, but we will snack the day away.

On my second pot of tea already, nothing to beat that very British of traditions first thing in the morning and listening to my favourite 80`s channel, playing every number 2 song of the 80`s in the UK....some classics there!!

Have a wonderful Sunday....... ☺️

Ah that another day of a full day of sunshine for us today. And just like yesterday, in the mid 60’s this late afternoon. Gloriously bright in our first standard time sunrise. Sunrise now at 6:30, and I was up, as was DH. He had coffee, I had tea, and we snuggled on our stoop to watch that sunrise, after tossing out some trash. Was cool, 44 degrees out now. But even with our cooler Fall, I love those full days of those beautiful blue skies and bright sunshine.

But given a Sunday, older one works, after enjoying a relaxing birthday day for him, ending with a very nice, and very filling, dinner. Always good food and service at the place he chose. We don’t go there often though, as it’s at least a half hour drive away. But traffic early last night was actually not busy at all, so it was a nice drive to a farther part of a town in a near county, that we usually don’t go to places that far in it.

And so, alarm set, and trash cans will be dragged to the curb. Happy to say, a should be a good and shorter week day routine week. Glad to still be teleworking this Tuesday, but still will be voting after laptop turned off. Our polling place is across the street from us. A few minutes walk. Nice I don’t have to stop there as driving back out of the city, which I most likely will have to do next November, so will be voting around almost an hour earlier than if I was in office working. Then woot, observed holiday Friday, so lazy day to end the week days, and thus, deserves another woot. Oh my, we are marching along in November quickly. Two weeks later from this Thursday, our Thanksgiving. Wow. The week after the week of Thanksgiving, December starts that Friday. Woot!

And it’s happened. That seasonal creep. On Saturday morning, we walked into Kohl’s to pick up an item. Only place, we went to, that holiday music was playing in the store. And, almost all Halloween stuff is gone, and forget seeing much Thanksgiving items, more and more Christmas decor is being seen in the stores.

But as not a lady of leisure yet, I’m glad it’s the time of year, where holidays are weeks later for months, starting earlier in October and ends in February, where the next is months away. Though have to say, with new June holiday, that every couple of weeks really starts with that end of May holiday. But no matter, still no holiday day off in the end of February, none in March nor April, and a longer wait in May for that start of yay, a week day off.

And so, just weather news, birthday fun day news, and not being that retirement ready yet musing. Eh. Really SAN. But as it’s now close to 9, I need a long hot shower. Time to close this post, wishing all have a most happy and serene Sunday.

Good morning. I must have really needed some sleep because I just woke up a little while ago (around 10:30 am).
The game last night was awesome. We won again bringing our record to 9-0. The game was fun for other reasons too. We saw a marriage proposal on the big screen. The guy set up a fake trivia game for him and his girlfriend. They were supposed to answer 3 questions to win a prize. The first question on the screen was “(woman’s name) will you marry me?” Then the camera showed the couple. He was on his knee holding a ring. She said yes and the crowd cheered.
The other cute thin was the crowd shots. Usually whenever they show the student section on the screen the students go crazy. It started that way last night then the cameras started showing the babies and little kids in the crowd. They would show a baby and the students would cheer “yay!” Then they would show the student section and the students would yell “Boo!” Then a baby/child - Yay! Student section - Boo! It went on like that for awhile and eventually the whole crowd was doing it.

This afternoon will be the final NASCAR race. My driver has the pole. It would be awesome too see him win it all.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

We don’t go there often though, as it’s at least a half hour drive away.
Other than WM, Sam’s and a $ general, it’s a half hour plus for us to even find fast food

Nice to shake that tree now & again, revisiting old favorite dining spots

Loved the mention of your stoop. Haven’t heard that word in years.
But as not a lady of leisure yet,
Ha, don’t be suckered in by that phrase. I
Was always Busier on my off days from work. Now, deliberately keep ourselves active. Nice to make our own schedule and have the ability to say no when we choose. Have a feeling you won’t be letting any grass grow under your feet either lol

Cautionary tale ahead

Mini class reunion this summer. Sad to discover the number of retirees that stopped working & then just disengaged. Said that event was first activity they did in years.

So many of my contemporaries have become sedentary, hunkering down in their houses. No plans or any activities to speak of, not even volunteering. I’d be bored out of my gourd

Do think there’s a phenom there wherein more than a few transitioned from work during Covid lockdowns and just never found their groove.

Beautiful day here. Time to
Haul more Halloween stuff to
Storage room whee.

Oh that was such a sweet thing to see Charade!! And the chanting sounds like such fun, glad you had such an amazing night and glad your team won....always a bonus!!

How is your daughter doing now?

A stoop?? Isn`t that a tiny little covered area in front of a shed wide enough for the door to open? Certainly sounds like it......we rented a house in Croatia once that didn`t have a real porch, but this tiny little area, I think that`s what they called it, I did laugh when they said we could sit out on it on the rockers, well I`d have paid him to fit one chair on there never mind two.....nah sitting by the pool was nicer!

Oh I completely agree.....I`ve been "retired" since I was 27 practically......lol.....but we have to keep busy, couldn`t imagine sitting in front of a tv or computer all day. My mum has always been an inspiration to me, at 88 she is fit as a fiddle and keeps so busy, puts me to shame actually. Being sedentary is never a good thing, for mental health as well as phyical health, again I look at my mum and everything she has gone through this last 18 months and I`m completely in awe of her. She still volunteers to help others too which is one of the things that keeps her so young!! Yep, I`d be bored too if I wasn`t doing anything. But, I do love having all the time in the world to do what we want.

Shame the Halloween stuff isn`t out longer when you do such an amazing display!! But, won`t be long till the Christmas stuff is out...... :santa:

Seems I do indeed have an echo!!

cv112-S.jpg

Had a lovely day after all, sun was shining and we popped down to check out Tom`s "mancave" as our gardener said he thought two of the windows in it were damaged in one of the storms recently, he`s right, so we`ll get someone out to fix it. They`ve stopped doing their home brew wine so there is a large space free in there.....I hinted about a gin still fitting nicely in there 😉 Tom laughed, think he thought I was kidding!!!

Looking out, the fireworks don`t seem to have been as bad tonight, last night was worse, despite this being actual Bonfire Night. Glad to hear it, so many folks pets are being terrified by them.

Enjoyed watching the Grand Prix, last few laps were the most I`ve enjoyed F1 these last couple of years, just not the same as it used to be, but still watch it. We`ll be in Orlando for the Vegas GP, not sure we`ll stay in to watch it though.

Thought I`d hear from my one of my cousins in Long Island, her daughter got married on Friday, I can`t wait to see some pictures, beautiful girl who will be stunning.

Not much else going on, think we`ll have an early night and tomorrow think about what we still need to get for our trip, not much really, anything we haven`t brought we`ll just go and buy.

Hope you`ve had a lovely Sunday :)

Woot!

Had an easy dinner tonight as decided it is easier to order pizza delivery than to go grocery shopping at 6:00 in the evening.

Pizza is always a good option!!! It`s weird in England, on a Sunday all our grocery stores don`t open till 10am and close at 4pm, the big ones anyway, smaller stores can stay open later and places like petrol stations which are like mini grocery stores too can stay open to sell products, they`re just not permitted to sell alcohol. Scotland has slightly different times I think they open at 10am, but can`t sell alcohol till midday but stay open later in the evening......our licencing laws are all over the place.

Hope you enjoyed it. Was it a sport watching evening for you??

We had a clear sky night with plenty of stars to see as clear as crystal, beautiful and the Northern Lights were visible too, red and magenta hues were clear. Better through a lens than with the naked eye, but those that take pictures have some gorgeous ones to share. We took some over the water, but ours didn`t turn out very clear at all, however folks posted theirs online and they`re so beautiful to see.

But, a cold one this morning, going to be a gorgeous sunrise, but we won`t be down on the beach walking just yet, just a little cold but looking out to sea right now it does look so pretty. Going to be a cloudy day later so we`ll get out this morning and pick up some things we need, a few groceries, farm store for veg then home.

I cooked double chicken yesterday so that`s dinner for tonight, will make a sauce to go with it and usual potatoes and some roast veg, the lady from the farm said she has a apple and blackberry crumble for us along with some of her home made marmalade, love it, so we`ll pop in and pick that up too. I usually make them a lasagne but haven`t done it this weekend, so will get one made for them this week sometime.

Plain old toast with preserves this morning with some melon and blueberries, lunch will be a wrap with whatever filling we fancy and that`s food sorted for the day. But first tea.....lots of tea.

Have a wonderful Monday......😁

cv106-S.jpg

cv62-S.jpg

Ah a Monday is here. And with that clear sky, only 6 degrees above freezing, and wind is making it feel like it’s at freezing. And weather guy this morning said we are in a dry spell. Mostly sunny days, with some clouds covering here and there, for the rest of the week, ending with a full day of sun predicted to be starting Saturday, and lasting until Tuesday. No rain says he, in our 10 day forecast. And a woot, as we will be close to 70 tomorrow, after a high of 59 today. Keep those nicer, warmer days coming.

Back to that week day routine, with trash trucks first to be heard in around an hour from now.

And this, early bird no matter which time keeping we do. House feels a little cool, so throw over my lap, and hot tea in my mug.

Most Marvelous Monday to all. And yep, pizza is always a good dinner choice, Mac.

will be 79 for us in the temps

Now that`s worth bragging about in November!!! Can you share some here......this original lizard wants some heat!!!! We were out this morning, but as soon as the sunshine went, I was back inside......lol.....I do fit being a lizard!

Enjoy that lovely temperature!

Yep, out in the sunshine this morning, it was beautiful, little chilly but a lighter jacket was enough. Got what we needed and came home for lunch to find the repair guy had just arrived to fix the windows in Tom`s mancave. So, waterproof again in nice time for the really damp weather to start.

Made cajun chicken wraps for lunch, nice and spicy with some coleslaw, very filling.

Caught up with some emails and calls this afternoon, did a load of washing and got it dried, ironed and put away, I do miss hanging it out though.

We have Kyle for dinner tonight, so making all his favourites including a chocolate dessert that he`ll love. Made a lemon syllabub for me, they`ll enjoy the chocolate cake, it has a very thick and dark ganache over the top, so rich!!!

Time for a cuppa though and try not to nibble before dinner later!!!!

Quick lunchtime post. Yesterday was a mostly lazy day. My NASCAR driver did not win the cup. He finished 4th in the race. He had a really good session though.

So many of my contemporaries have become sedentary, hunkering down in their houses. No plans or any activities to speak of, not even volunteering. I’d be bored out of my gourd
This was my MIL. She got to the point that she didn’t want to do anything but sit in her recliner and watch TV. Her health declined very quickly.

How is your daughter doing now?
She’s doing well, but still needs to find a job. She wants to reapply to the Disney college program. I told her that was fine, but if she doesn’t get in this time than she has to find a job. Any job.

We had a clear sky night with plenty of stars to see as clear as crystal, beautiful and the Northern Lights were visible too, red and magenta hues were clear.
I would love to see the lights someday. I am currently stitching a picture of them to give to a friend.

will be 79 for us in the temps
Nice. I think we are supposed to hit 69 today.

I would love both the chocolate and lemon.

Almost time to get back to work.

Happy Monday to everyone in SANs land, LOL!

Just a few posts to catch up on.....

Robo: Sorry it's taken so long to respond to your post about PF. I have never had my podiatrist suggest inserts. Do they help? I have had injections in the bottom of the foot - ask me how awful those felt! But they did help. I would visit him before a trip with lots of walking and get an injection, and they did the trick. I hope that broken bone on top of your foot is healing now?

Charade: Congratulations on your game and a great record of 9-0!!! I miss going to my kids games when they were in high school. We never missed a game. The grandkids did not get into sports, so no games for us lately.

Kiesha: Your class reunion sounds like fun next summer. I always try to go to mine. But I have to travel a ways to get there now. I have a group of girl friends that have kept close with each other from grade school through high school. We love to go on girl trips together and have one coming up. I don't think my friends are getting sedentary, but I know what you are talking about. We are getting a little slower and more cautious at what we do, but still have fun:)

Schumigirl: Tom's "man cave"?? I think that's brilliant! And he makes his own wine?
It seems like your bonfire night has turned into nights of annoying fireworks? It sounds like our 4th of July celebration which some people carry on for days. It does get irritating. I just read about Why there is a bonfire night in the UK, and it is interesting. It sounds like you had a good time watching the Grand Prix. I confess that I don't know much about racing. We do have a race track near us for some type of auto racing. We even hear the roar from the race cars on a Sunday evening. I don't mind that at all. It's a sound from my childhood that I heard while staying overnight at Grandma's. The sound always put me to sleep:)

Yesterday, I had a big urge to bake! I don't usually get like that, but bake occasionally because the family loves it:) I baked 2 apple pies and also a Texas Brownie for the gang at my daughters house for hunting. The Texas brownie is Huge and I use a large jelly roll pan for them. They must be kept in the fridge and are a great chocolate treat.

Then I watched NFL all day:):) I even see that the NFL is having some football games in Europe. There was one in Germany yesterday. I didn't know football was popular over there.

I don't have much planned this week. I have a massage tomorrow which I look forward to each month! A massage really helps my fibromyalgia - one of the only things that does - so I spoil myself with one a month. I will take Mom out to the stores and restaurant one day, and the rest of the week is open. It was snowing big flakes this AM, but they disappeared soon as the ground is too warm for it to stick, thank heavens!!!

OH, and I'm jealous of Mac's 79 degree weather! We won't see that again til next June.

Have a good week, everyone. I really enjoy this thread even though I don't participate as much as I would like!
