My dd and I were swimming at the meadows pool. When we were done we went to go back to our cabin. Our golf
Cart wasn't where we left it. LOL

Luckily the bike barn cast members took us up to the check in so we could get another golf cart. Apparently this happens a lot. They told me there are only about 8 keys so they are interchangeable.

That hadn't happened to us but you definitely took it with grace and a sense of humor. I think I would have freaked out a bit!

If it was another Disney cart renter who took your Disney cart, well, why didn't you take theirs? :lmao:

;) Sorry - couldn't resist.

Lol. When we went to the campfire tonight I think I know who took our cart. Or at least the cart that was left behind.
Will check tomorrow when we go to the pool to see if that same one is still there. Btw we ended up with a brand new cart so was a good deal. :)

Lol. I actually thought about doing that. There was only 3 carts where we parked and I did wonder if I should just try my key.

It happens all the time with the rentals. Since golf carts have a minimum mix of key cuts and all the disney rentals look the same someone jumps onto the wrong cart and they key works so they go.

During my teenage years, me and a friend discovered that many of the keys worked on other carts. We loved playing tricks on people by not taking the carts, but moving them around for the people coming back late from the Magic Kingdom. Most times, it was just turning them around, or moving them just enough to cause confusion. In our young minds, this was the height of hilarity, just imagining the confused looks on peoples faces. As an adult, I'd be pretty peeved by it, though.

1) I still have three keys from my Caddy days at Spring Valley Country Club. *
2) And, they fit the vast majority of carts that use stock keys (not automotive ignition keys).
3) Guests, and not even CM's, figure how I can move carts so quickly.
4) I have no idea how many different "cuts" exist, but my three keys seldom miss.

* Ah, yes. Misspent youth: toting bags, smoking cigars, and taking members' tips. Let
alone going "over the hill" to drink and play cards.

Are you moving carts in an official capacity, or reliving the joys of youth? Lol.

This is something that is a bit of a worry to me as well! It's great a CM was able to take you to get another one but we are renting one from an outside renter. When I read your post OP, I had a mini panic attack wondering what I will do if that happens to me!!!

All the Disney ones look alike and apparently people don't check to make sure they are in the right cart. However the one you rent will probably not look the same so hopefully no one will take it by mistake.

Fingers crossed! Lol! ;)

1) Sorry, sometimes one can do nothing on a Bad Hair Day.
2) As an FYI, I really do have a Bushwood Logo Golf Shirt!
3) As well as a Gopher head cover for my driver.

Scupper, if PETA finds out about that driver cover you are in deep human waste my friend...

Rusty, there are about 5 cuts actually for standard golf carts. And if you have a good hand even a 751 can work in a pinch (like leaving your key at home.)

1) At one time, I was worried about that.
2) I did hear from PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals), and they were quite pleased.

So prevention would be to tie a bandana to the steering wheel or maybe a roof post so you can see it from a distance.
