Some Wonder questions...

Make sure your reservations are linked. You can check in for both cabins.

Ok thanks everyone for walking me through this. I'm understanding why people pay for concierge to do it all - ha! So when I log into my DCL account and click my already booked cruises, I can see both mine and my son's cabins and the details. I can see links to make a payment on either cabin. So that must mean I've successfully linked the reservations?

Yes.

It is really not that hard or complicated to do on your own.

Thanks - so if 1st time cruisers are 75 days in advance and Silver (one cruise) are 90 days in advance, then we first timers are still last to book, right?
Correct.

Well, except for anyone who books the cruise after that date.

first time DCL cruisers - 75 days out
Silver Castaway Club members - 90 days out
Gold CC - 105 days out
Platinum CC & Concierge - 120 days out

Link the reservations...very important and will make your lives easier.

If you are stopping at Nassau, the big attraction, Atlantis, is right across the bridge (it takes up the entirety of Paradise Island). You do not need to book through Disney to take advantage of it. Just get a taxi and keep an eye on the time. We went there with grandparents, kids and us (the parents) and had a blast. Usually we book through Disney, but this one isn't needed. Check the Atlantis website and you'll see what options you have.

Thanks...this cruise is out of Galveston and just one stop at Cozumel. Only other time I was at Cozumel...no little kids with us and it poured torrential rain so whatever excursion we had planned was cancelled. Better luck this time I hope!

Hmm, we've been to Cozumel twice and did not book excursions. We walked a bunch and stocked up on a few items at a nearby Mercado, that was similar to Target. And the teenagers enjoyed the free wifi at Starbucks.

Thanks - our grandkids will be 7 and 8 at the time of the cruise so we may look into going to a beach. I think the cruise offers an excursion to Playa Mia but I need to look around some more - plenty of time!

Weedy mentioned 12:01 ET. My experience was always right at midnight. Haven't bothered staying up that late for a year or so. It might seem a negligible difference but in that minute I would often be able to snag a cabana back when they were a bit easier to get.

What is everyone's else experience?

.01 is a second not a minute:)

I have a question. I have booked Disney Wonder through a local cruise line agent and booked 3 cabins for our first Disney cruise...3 generations, hint hint. Do I book all the before said activities through my agent or should I ask for confirmation numbers and register on the Disney Cruise line website and book them myself?

I booked the cruise myself but transferred it to a TA. She said I will be doing my own online check in and booking of activities, as I prefer anyway. Check with yours in advance. You definitely should register on the DCL site.

Thank you for the update, I am sending an email to my TA asap! I think on our paid invoices the only thing that was requested was early dinner....

I also asked our TA to request a table of 6 (just our family) so she contacted Disney to request and confirm this. You might prefer to share a table with another family but regardless have your TA get your request noted.

On the Disney Cruise Line website I can see my stateroom and my son’s since I had them linked. I will take care of checking in and making reservations for both cabins. However if we wanted to change staterooms the TA would need to do this since she holds the reservations.

They can confirm that the request is on there, but they will not confirm requests ahead of time. When you board the ship you can go to where Dining changes are taking place and see if it was able to be accommodated.

They do their best, but they sometimes simply cannot honor requests.

First, lose the WDW mentality with all its fast passes and reservations. Cruising us totally more chill.
For your first cruise, and a short one at that, I would not even bother with the specialty adult dining. You will be assigned a rotation through the 3 dining rooms. Your servers, who will become your best friends, will rotate with you.

I've never understood the angst over port arrival time....you can't get to your room til they open for everyone so, unless you bring your swimsuits in your carry-on you just end up walking around upper decks. Nice but not something to get excited about.

You do want to book your excursions...we always book through Disney but a lot of people don't. You can get to the excursions now, just read them over and list your top 2-3. You should get one of them.

There are the couple of character meetings that require reservations and the Bibbity... Boutique. Thank goodness my kids outgrew that before it started!

We don't do the drink sampling things but if that interests you, you need reservations.

But that's really it. Everything else is free and open to everyone (within age limitations).
