Solo Travelers and Pictures with the Characters?

Anyone take pictures with the characters as a solo adult traveler?

I feel like as an adult (without children) it's kind of odd to have your picture with a character...
and then adding to the fact that you're all alone.

I'm wondering if I'm setting myself up for "failure" here...

When I went on my last Disney trip in 2008, I was 19, with my family, taking pictures and having them sign my autograph book. Of course, I was laughed and made fun of for that and asked "Will you ever grow up?" And yet I would probably do the same again, 8 years later and now going to the parks solo. This is how I view it: No family is there to make fun of you, no one knows your story, and the chances of you seeing 99.9% of the people around you ever again is similar to the chances of you winning the lottery. Go give those characters a hug and take a picture! No fear! :)

Went to Disney World last year for the third time, second with my DW and had never done character pics before as always been as an adult. However last year we decided to just do it and loved it. It did feel a little weird with the non-speaking characters for me as I am a little shy anyway but they are brilliant and my DW loved the interaction with them. We also took an autograph book and got quite a few of those too. I would definatley do them on my own now too. The way I look at it is its all part of Disney and what you pay to go there for, why should you not enjoy it all just because you are older. We will be going back next year and will be trying to see as many characters as possible again. Just to say I am currently 41 years old. All the characters we did meet where fantastic too so hats off to Disney
