Thinking about heading to WDW for a week with dd (11) as a surprise when school gets out May 30th. No one else in the family is up for a trip at this time (gasp!!), so it looks as if I'll be making my first solo-parent trip to the World. The nice thing is that we'll get to do all the girly things dd loves without all the complaints of her brothers and pretend interest of dh. Anyone else doing the solo-parent trip to WDW around the first of June?

Not going this June alone but last year took my youngest who was 5 at the time on a semi-solo trip. My niece was taking our middle daughter and a friend so I took our youngest. We had adjoining rooms and met up for dinner and other activities we all wanted to do but made our own plans for what each girl wanted to do. Would take a solo trip with any of my 3 again in a heartbeat!

My DD and I are going for a week just the two of us! It's the week BEFORE your trip! I'm so excited to just do whatever WE want! Hoping both our trips are magical!pixiedust:

I took my daughter on a "solo" trip last summer for SWW. Well, we met a friend and her son down there, but we did have one day/night alone. I'm not going to lie...it was fabulous. I think having 1:1 time was great for our relationship and it was nice not to have to accommodate the likes/dislikes of two very different kids. It was a great time for us and I'm sure you'll have a blast!

DD and I are going in September. If I went earlier, she'd be free as she turns 3 in Aug, but I decided I'd rather pay admission, and not have crowds since it will be just us. I'm so excited!!! We all went last October, and she's so ready to go back!

My DD11 and I are headed to WDW in October for our first mommy and me trip. She is enjoying planning the whole trip and making all the decisions (well, I have made a few). With 4 kids, each one only gets to make a few choices to keep it fair. She is the only girl so this trip we are skipping the boy stuff. I am hoping this will help our relationship as she enters those scary teen years.
