Soaring vs FEA Fastpass?

Anyone else struggling with epcot fast pass selections due to the expected popularity of Soarin and FEA? Am I correct in assuming both will be done with distribution so early adding one as a 4th pick in the park won't be an option? (I can't stand tiered FPs!)

I am planning two days of Epcot FP to get FP for both. And rope dropping TT. If I had one day, I would pick one to do at RD, FP the other, then do SR TT. I should note that though both will supposedly be open during my trip and I can book FP for Soaring, I have not see the FEA open for booking yet.

Yes. I booked Frozen Ever After as I'm sure its standby line will be worse, and will rope drop Soarin'.

Didn't Soarin get a 3rd screen? I would choose FEA first since it is a brand new atteaction and hope the new screen at Soarin cuts the wait times.

The problem is that Soarin' will also be premiering a new movie.
That will automatically increase demand, at least in the first year, or so.

That's true but if everyone is over at FEA doing standby there I imagine we will see shorter standby lines at Soarin. Only time will tell though.

Soarin's new movie is big news on these boards, but not to the average Disney guest. "The new Frozen ride" is much bigger news to the general public, so I still think it will draw more guests and longer waits.

We're doing Epcot 3 different days (in a week), so I got Soarin', Illuminations and Frozen. Without that, it would've been rope drop Soarin', fp Frozen and just find a place for Illuminations (not that difficult).

So am I to assume that FEA is tier 1 as is Soarin & TT?

Yes, it's Tier 1. Unfortunately, Living with the Land is still Tier 1, too. They didn't move any of the previous Tier 1 attractions down to Tier 2 with the introduction of Frozen Ever After, so now there is even more to pick from in Tier 1, and the same weak set of options in Tier 2. :sad1:

Thanks for the answers. And that sucks. I saw someone say they wanted to eat at Akershus for breakfast & then go to standby line for FEA. Does that mean they will be opening WS in the AM now, or just the Norway Pavilion? Oh, I looked on Disney's website to make a FP & FEA wasn't showing at all, a glitch, maybe.

It's open as of June 21st, so make sure you are trying for a date after that and not before. We got our Frozen Ever After FP's for mid-July, so it definitely works. However, I did see the Olaf head error-message multiple times when originally trying to get to the FP+ page- I assume that there is so much demand the site is occasionally going down.

I don't know when WS will open, but I did notice that for the day we booked Frozen Ever After, the earliest time slot available was 11:45am. That could have been due to high demand, but as there were a lot of later times available, it seems more likely due to WS not opening at 9am.

The website is showing the hours for FEA as 9am - 9pm which if correct is great but shocking as they have always been hard core that the WS opens at 11.

I went for FEA thinking the Soarin' line would move faster now that it can accommodate more people PLUS the wait is indoors and I don't know what the situation will be for FEA. We can handle a longer line in air-conditioned comfort.:cutie:
