Soarin'

Soarin' is my number one, absolutely must do ride at Epcot.

And I won't stand in a line to ride it. It's FP or nothing.

Ditto. Soarin' is my hands down favorite ride in any park.

Last time we were there, I went over the grab a fast pass and the time said 30 minutes. I thought that wasn't bad so we hopped on even though I had already grabbed a fastpass for later. The 30 minutes ended up being over an hour. My hubby was MAD! And that was only an hour. I can't imagine 3 1/2 hours. My family probably would've gone berzerk!

It was so nice during our last visit when Soarin standby was 5 minutes in the morning well after park opening. We even ate breakfast in Sunshine Seasons. We always eat breakfast before park opening during busier times so we don't waste valuable ride time.

I have become spoiled so I don't know what I will do if the crowds are up for our next visit. And NO, summerskye, I will not visit Captain EO again.;)

When did you last visit? Sounds terrific

I'm having a hard time imagining just the 30 minutes for Nemo...the queue ..though well themed..makes me dizzy. Imagine how much longer it would be if it weren't an omnimover.

To tell the truth, I have never done it. It did not look interesting to me. :confused3

I'm not saying this is the case at all currently, however, during our last visit at the end of September, wait times were really off. For example, posted wait time for ToT was 30 minutes and we were on and off in 13 minutes (ironic, eh, ToT, 13 mins?) Nemo posted wait time was 20 and we walked right on. We found this consistently all that week.

220 minutes???

You could do Captain EO 44 times... woo hoo

:rotfl2:

you are really crackin me up here. :lmao:

eta: I've actually never gone to Captain EO. Now, in my defense, a-hem, I didn't visit WDW in the years 1986-94 when it made it's first run. And since they brought it back in 2010, well, a-hem, I guess there have just been too many other things we wanted to do?? Like, watch paint dry? lol (I just watched the video of the ride here on the dis. Wanted to know what I was missing. Yeah. I think I'll stick with watching paint dry.:) )

Anybody know how long someone with a FP+ had to wait?? Wonder if those wait times/lines were crazy too?

If you dig up some of the wait time threads from Christmas I believe the wait times for Soarin' were even higher on the really peak days. To me that just proves that people really want to ride their favorites even if it means spending 1/2 your park day in a line for 1 ride. I love Soarin' we rode it at least 5x in November. It's one of the rides the whole family enjoys, but no 3 hour waits for us, no thanks.

FWIW, we have learned that the area in front of Cpt. EO is one of the best spots in the park to escape the crowds if you want to sit and rest for a few. There's even a pretzel cart:)

*Faint.* Seriously, who would wait in that line?!? People obviously are...I wonder what would possess them to do so?

Simply because some people may spend one day at EPCOT, maybe two during their entire lives. If they don't ride today, they never will.

Since we are regular visitors, we never would!

I wonder why it's not busy in that area... hmmm. :confused3:rotfl2:

And Soarin is overhyped in my opinion. Old projection screen. Update Disney!

I was hoping it would be refurb before my next visit.

If I remember correctly, one of the screens was worse than the other. Can't remember whether it was left side or right side and I cannot find my notes. Anyone know?

Does Disney really have an incentive to update a ride that is seeing 200+ minute waits as it is? I'm just asking...

I can't imagine waiting that long in line for any ride. No way. At Cedar Point one year a bunch of my family members waited like four hours to ride Top Thrill Dragster. The ride lasts about five seconds. I just don't get it. Soarin' is a fun ride and at least it lasts longer than five seconds but... there's so much to do in Epcot! If you spend 200 minutes in line for Soarin' and another 120 minutes in line for Test Track, that's like half your day.
