Just Got Back And Waited In Line For Soaring..even With Fast Pass...you Have To Go Into The Land Building And Go Upstairs..anyway The Ride Is Mild..you Can See The Peoples Feet Above You...and You Can See The People On The Next Section..to My Left..and All There Feet...the Smells Were Like Having Room Freshner Sprayed In Your Face The Ride Was Over Fast....and It Was A Real Letdown...

Sorry you didn't like it. I agree the chaos for getting FP's/waiting in line shows some poor planning on Disney's part--the Land pavilion doesn't seem able to handle the crowds--the escalator area--yikes!
But I love Soarin'. Did you see the Hidden Mickeys? :sunny:

We were lucky enough to get in the front gliders. We could see the people next to us, but no feet. I liked it, but it wasn't as great as they pump it up to be. There was a vomit mess on the floor when they let us in with the sawdust or whatever sprinkled on it. I really think they could have cleaned that up before letting us in. I was wondering who got sick on a ride that mild!

I liked the ride, but I guess I had too high of expectations. I was expecting an amazing, thrilling, 200% realistic ride, but I found it to be like all the other simulator rides. It was better though, expecially with the breezes and the smells, and it was more in sync with the movie movements, but I wasn't blown away by it.

Both times we rode it, we got the front row. The first time, we requested it because my aunt and uncle said it was much better. Then the second time, when we went to load, and people moved around, so there weren't enough seats for us to sit together. So we got to choose which row we wanted for the next load. So we picked the front.

But I've heard that the back two rows, you can see feet dangling, which must ruin the whole experience. I hope when they put in the new movie, they change the rows too, move them up a little, so you don't see the feet.

You are among a few. Most of us love this ride.

I agree with you. In fact, after riding it the first time, I tried to give away our fastpasses but the people looked at me like I had 2 heads.

Wow, really??? I just saw your post on the resorts board about CSR, sounds like you just had a lousy trip, sorry about that. Personally we LOVE Soarin' and can't wait to ride it again .

I was disappointed with Soaring also... it is a waste if you don't get the first row IMHO, and then it's just a mild amusement.

Just goes to show that Disney has something for everybody and everybody's not going to like everything............. Did that sentence make even a bit of sense? :) Soarin was my favorite ride in all of WDW. I agree though, that listening to the hype from all of us who love a ride is going to set you up for a letdown. No ride can be THAT good! I had the same experience on Kali Rapids. From reading the descriptions in the guidebooks, I was expecting a river ride that was far and away beyond anything else out there. Well, it's pretty neat, and we enjoyed it, but I had built it up too high in my mind and left a little disappointed.

Lesson learned: I'm avoiding as much of the talk on Expedition Everest as I possibly can.

We love it too - rode it three times last Sunday - first ride of the day after opening and two times with Fast Pass. My DD8 loves it and everyone we have gone to the parks with have loved it. That being said, I am not a coaster, thrill ride lover - so I guess this is more my speed!

I've waited up to an hour when we were able to get a Fastpass and under time constraints, but I don't think I would would for much over that just because - we are local, and there is always a next time for us.

I have yet to hear a negative comment when disembarking. To each his own! I use my imagination, and don't think about what is around me when I am on the ride. I love the sights and even the smells!!!!

Exactly and it' s a good thing that not everybody likes everything. Imagine what it would be like if every ride had a line like Soarin does.

Even though it wasn't my favorite ride, I will be going on it with my kids on our next trip so they can experience it.

I wouldn't say that I didn't like it, but I thought it was just ok and a bit over-rated. :confused3

We rode it first thing on the EMH morning, then got a FP and rode it again within an hour. We all liked it but I wouldn't say I would put it in my Top 10 WDW attractions. Certainly not worth the long waits for it later in day. We were there last week when crowds were light and they stopped giving out FP for the ride in the morning. This left many angry people who said that they could not wait in line for 80 minutes. Many were seniors who said that they could not stand for that long. They caused a small rackus but it did not seem to me that it got them anywhere.

Good ride but it's severely overrated. I'd rather take another ride on "Journey into the Imagination". Disney should use newer technology or invent one (this one is invented by IMAX and first installed in France about 4 years ago).

I think it's all about expectations. The first time we got on, we knew nothing and had no expectations. We were blown away! We still love it, but we do try to be in the front row so we can't see other people's feet.

Is this ride an exact clone of the DL one? I have only ridden it at DL and sat in all three rows and I never found the feet to be a distraction or too close. They were there but hardly noticable. I just wonder if at WDW the rows are closer or something.

I enjoyed Soarin' but was a bit disappointed. It is not a major attraction in my opinnion. It is a very tame motion simulator. This ride has been over at Universal for many years in the much more exciting Back to the future.
