Soarin...didn't Like It

My family LOVED Soarin'. And we were aged 3 1/2 - 60; with ages in between. And we're pretty skeptical(hard to please) at times.
This was our first family trip to WDW and no one in my family knew anything about Soarin' so our expectationsweren't as
s high as a lot of ya'll who know more about the coming attractions. We did go during a great time: week after Thanksgiving, so we arrived there at opening and used FP and rode 5 times during the week. I will NEVER understand why people would wait in a long line for ANYTHING.

I don't get the deal about the feet though. I just imagine other folks are "flying" in the sky not far from us. Also in the first row you see black (empty space) on the screen that bothered me more than the feet.
Did anyone else notice that??

Does anyone who didn't care that much for Soarin' love Test Track??
That was the one ride that didn't meet our expectations.

Maybe some of my love for Soarin' had to do with it being the only ride my whole family(Mom, Dad 4 kids and husband) were able to experience all together and enjoy seeing each others expressions and even talking together as we rode and enjoyed it.

Yes, I like Test Track a lot.

ToT is my favorite ride but I know others don't care for it at all.

Good thing there are so many attractions to pick from and to suit everyone's tastes. pixiedust:

the first time i wanted to go on the ride there was a 6 hour wait.......absurd right? so the next day my fiance and future MIL were going to all of the attractions at the parks that we missed. we decided to hit that one first because it had been such a long wait before. it was still an hour wait but it was better than nothing. so i was waiting for this huge thrill but it wasn't what i thought it would be. parts of it were fun, but yeah.....nothing waiting for 6 hours for!

Is this ride an exact clone of the DL one? I have only ridden it at DL and sat in all three rows and I never found the feet to be a distraction or too close. They were there but hardly noticable. I just wonder if at WDW the rows are closer or something.

Yes, the two are the same.

BTW-the other hidden Mickey is the fireworks display over DL at the end! :sunny:

I agree with those who say it was way overhyped and a mild amusement at best. I'd do it again with no line, but no way would I wait in line for it.

When I went, no line, and it was a pretty swift walk (i.e. nobody in front of us through the long walkway, but what a long walkway!) God forbid I had actually waited even a half hour for it, let alone the hours people have waited.

We did have front row seats, though. :

As much as I love Soarin', and pretty much all things Disney, no way would I wait for 6 hours for ANYTHING. Our top wait last few trips has been 20 minutes.

I enjoyed Soarin' but was a bit disappointed. It is not a major attraction in my opinnion. It is a very tame motion simulator. This ride has been over at Universal for many years in the much more exciting Back to the future.

Back to the Future may have the same size screen and a similar layout, but it's a different kind of ride...Soarin' is supposed to be TAME, it's part of what Disney used to be about, a ride for everyone, little kids, older folks to all enjoy together.

With that in mind, I loved Soarin' and want to go back to Epcot soon and ride it again. It's one of the few attractions Disney has hit right-on recently IMO

OMG, you didn't like Soarin?? That's blasphemy....just kidding :) We LOVE Soarin'.....it's our favorite attraction. As another poster said, there is something for everyone and not everyone will love and/or hate the same attractions....it's what is so wonderful about WDW :)
