Good morning everyone. Alison the kitties are so cute. It is very cold this morning, but no rain in sight.

I'd like this part to be less about cities and more about the outdoors. But I'm not sure if late Sep is a good time for leaf-peeping or whether I should just have a look at the little farming communities and lakes of New York.

I also have to work out how to get from that part of the country to Orlando; whether to drive or drive/fly.

This might end up being either 5 or 6 nights; depending on when we want to tack on the Universal part - before WDW or after.

Then I'm thinking that we might have another 5 or 6 nights afterwards.

:confused3

I'll tell you it will be really HOT at this time in DC, you will want to take in the museums in DC and not be out on the green! Ask Brandi!

Forgive me for forgetting their names! Is this Mac and one of the newbies?

Yes this is Mac and one of the newbies, Milo.

Back on the Oct 2013 trip, I've been vaguely thinking about starting a PTR. But I don't plan on doing this until after my HK TR.

I was wondering about whether we wanted a joint PTR or separate ones. By default that gamers thread is the joint one...

I think we should do the joint one on the already started TR, but I think each of us could start one since we will each have different stuff, Bobbiwoz doesn't really do PTRs or even TRs, so she can keep posting stuff on the gamers thread. BTW she started a thread on the DVC board when she was at Kidani, but abandoned it I gues once she left. I think we should all agressively post on the gamers thread once we get plans going because maybe we might get extras in there as it keeps rising to the top of the list.

Why not the studios? No cooking anymore.

No, the studios don't have kitchens, that's one of the reasons, but we also don't like the queen size bed that is stuck up against the wall. One of us has to do without a nightstand and be crammed against the wall. The last studio we had it would have been Fran on that side and she can't manage that. I can work with it if I am on the correct side of the bed, but to have to change sides AND be crammed against the wall sucks. We only stayed in studios in CA anyways, in Florida it's always one bedrooms. The other thing is that in CA we get two bathrooms in a one bedroom, not always a big deal, but sometimes a plus!

It's nice to see the cats getting some aerobic excercise.

Are the studios the least points?

Good morning everyone. Sunday over here and it looks like it might actually get close to 70's today. Still overcast and the sun is trying to break through the clouds. We'll see.

PIO - Your options in fall 2013 would take you right near me! I live just north of DC and have traveled all over the east coast. September is definitely too early for pretty leaf viewing but the mountains in Tennessee or North Carolina would be gorgeous!

We started taking our DS to Universal Florida when he was about six and just visited there last month. I highly recommend staying there as well although our experience at the Royal Pacific wasn't good at all! We liked the Hard Rock more and would probably choose it if visiting there again.

Anywhooo! If you do come through the Washington, DC area maybe we can get together!

Posting LAST, this lovely winter morning!

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to have to do some research but am holding off until after the HK trip.

DisMeet in the DC area? Absolutely.....but you're considering joining the Gamers DisMeet in the 1st week in October, aren't you??? ;)

The cats are cute. I hope Mac and Milo are only play fighting and not aggressively fighting.

DC is pretty much top of DH and my list at the moment for next year. But then the plans are really vague right now. All we're doing is looking at the money situation and planning the savings so that we'll have the funds when we get to October......and also talking about where we'd like to go. Given that we're heading closer to the East Coast, it makes sense to try to do more over there. Although...I'd be really keen to have a day or two in SoCal to check out Carsland. :thumbsup2

Coffee and croissant for breakie.

Who's playing that will give you that heart attack?

It's really cute to watch, and they are just play fighting if they were really fighting one would be running away.

The studios are glorified hotel rooms, a little bigger and they have a microwave, mini fridge, toaster, and coffee maker. The one bedrooms are better than most people's apartments!

Okay, I am trying to revive today. How is everyone?

Welcome back to lasting.

We put the sign out in front of 1st St about 3 hours ago, and we showed it three times in the first hour!

looks like you'll get 1st street rented real quick. :thumbsup2

I hope so!

I'm sure it's fun to watch the wrestling.

So basically enough room to add the appliance counter and set it apart from a regular room to call it a villa?

I hope so! A couple came by just before we took down the Open House sign and seemed REALLY interested. We talked for a while, they have an older boxer dog, but they were willing to pay $3K in pet deposit. I hope they call us tomorrow to pick up an application packet!

Pretty much.

I stayed in a studio room at BCV the last time. The micro was handy for breakfast...we like porridge. I'd like a one-bedroom but given how much time we don't spend in the room, it hardly seems worth it.

My DD has an English bulldog. She is looking for an apartment & having a terrible time. Anyone who allows pets only wants dogs that are 25 lbs full grown. Her dog is quiet; never, I mean never barks, crated at night & if she is out & scared of his own shadow. But because he is over 25 lbs, they won't allow him. :sad2: Nice that you will consider renting to folks with a boxer. :thumbsup2

Given that Fran needs a nap for 2-3 hours each day, and is often slow to rise, I get a lot of use out the jacuzzi tub and kitchen, two items that are not in a studio. Even at DLR when we only stay one night, it still feels so nice crawling into the King size bed after the jacuzzi! :thumbsup2
