Our school timetable is out. It looks like DS will be on holidays from about 20 Sep to the 6th Oct. I was thinking of taking an extra week in October.

Why a break then? Is it a Spring Break, so kids can be off to seed the fields?

I'm trying to figure out this whole thing. This year we are going to the Swolphin Wine and Dine classic, and I'll have to figure out if we want our trip to extend until that takes place or what next year, I've planned on 8 days in a 1 br at the BCV and renting Sharon a week of a studio at the BCV.

If F&W at DLR comes back, I'm going to have to potentially borrow points, but that might be OK because I don't think we're going to do two trip to WDW in 2014. We're doing a trip to Aulani in 2013, but 2014 will be something else and then taking a Christmas lights trip to WDW. I think we can use up the rest of our points at F&W. I don't think I'll have to worry about too many points now that we don't want to stay in studios any longer!

Well we are officially home, we have been on cruise ships, cabs , trains and buses. We are beet. So I hope everyone is good tonight. Thanks once again Alison for you and Fran picking us up and meeting. We had a great time. Sadly no we didnt see you wavng. But we were up on deck as we sailed away. I will promise to do a TR and finish it. But I will start when I have had some sleep. Good night Lasters.

Yes. That's our Spring break. Seeding the fields? I don't think so...city folk where I come from!

Hopefully, I won't chew up too many points for you. If not, I can check out what deals are available.

DH and I were chatting. We're thinking a week at WDW and about 2 or 3 nights at Universal. We think DS would love the rides at IoA and at Universal; and staying on site there would give us the best of both worlds.

We just need to work out what to do before and what to do after. At this stage, I'm leaning towards heading towards New York and driving around upstate or New England and ending up in Washington DC. DH has been to DC but I haven't yet had the pleasure. I'd like this part to be less about cities and more about the outdoors. But I'm not sure if late Sep is a good time for leaf-peeping or whether I should just have a look at the little farming communities and lakes of New York.

I also have to work out how to get from that part of the country to Orlando; whether to drive or drive/fly.

This might end up being either 5 or 6 nights; depending on when we want to tack on the Universal part - before WDW or after.

Then I'm thinking that we might have another 5 or 6 nights afterwards.

:confused3

Back on the Oct 2013 trip, I've been vaguely thinking about starting a PTR. But I don't plan on doing this until after my HK TR.

I was wondering about whether we wanted a joint PTR or separate ones. By default that gamers thread is the joint one...

Why not the studios? No cooking anymore.

Welcome home. Sleep well.

I'm sure it's not so we can go to Cancun, Mexico.

Naw, I'm happy to make it work for you. You folks are using 107 points for a whole week. The reason we are having so much trouble it that we have resigned to staying on one bedrooms and they command 39 to 48 points each night during F&W (if it comes back) and this New Year we used 76 points for just one night!

Believe me you are not eating up points! I am just greedy!

Cancun is lovely.....when you're there in any other time other than Spring Break. It's one of the place I'm considering going back to in 2013. DH would love to do something different, though.

Just so I have a rough idea for a rough budget, how much will those points work out to for $$???

Those leaves will be pretty green. You might consider driving through the southern Appalachians on the way up to DC. Then fly or train to NYC from DC.

IOA will probably be right up your DS's alley.

Thanks. I'll look into the southern Appalachians. I've camped there before upstate New York way. It was really cool....we woke up in the morning because someone yelled out that there was a black bear walking outside out tent. We opened the flap and took a look.

DH has friends in Boston and they will probably want us to visit. I was thinking that if we did this, we might mosey on to Arcadia and drive down following the Appalachians or as much of it as possible.

I wonder if that would take us anywhere close to Ben and Jerry's or the Amish? More research....after HK.

That all sounds like a good argument to tour up north.

Down south, Bilmore Estate, Great Smokey Mountains NP, many caverns. Maybe some good rafting.

PIO - Your options in fall 2013 would take you right near me! I live just north of DC and have traveled all over the east coast. September is definitely too early for pretty leaf viewing but the mountains in Tennessee or North Carolina would be gorgeous!

We started taking our DS to Universal Florida when he was about six and just visited there last month. I highly recommend staying there as well although our experience at the Royal Pacific wasn't good at all! We liked the Hard Rock more and would probably choose it if visiting there again.

Anywhooo! If you do come through the Washington, DC area maybe we can get together!

Posting LAST, this lovely winter morning!
