PIO, late Sept is a good time for seeing colorful foliage in central New York. Have you ever been to Niagara Falls? If you're heading up this way you could add that in for a few days.

Ive been to Niagara Falls twice. DS is keen to head back there again. But if the foliage is good in central NY state, I'd be keen to head there. Leaf-peeping has been on my bucket list for quite a few years. Is there a spot you would recommend?

I don't have anyplace specific in mind since we don't travel around to see it. . I'm just outside Buffalo (about 30 mins south of Niagara Falls) so we get all the color we need to see right here. But the Finger Lakes region is beautiful. The "I Love NY" / NY state tourist sites should have some good info.

I'll check it out.

DH has work colleagues that live in the Boston area. We stayed with them in 2007 and they've been asking when we're coming back for a return visit.

DH is also talking about Nashville, going to see Graceland and wanting to get to NOLA as well. Looks like culling the list down to a manageable tour plan is going to be more the issue.

Graceland....bleh....

I think at hour 40 my migraine finally ended...around that...

As for the studios. My PROBLEM with the one beds is you get no extra bedding. You still only have one real bed

But it is worth remembering...you get two real beds at OKW...

Glad you're feeling better.

We'll be there during Food and Wine. I wanna stay near Epcot. Besides, DS will be sleeping on the sofabed and Alison and I have worked out a rough deal on DVC points. :thumbsup2

I'm not sure what you mean aobut extra bedding. We were there in 2010 and we had more than enough for all 3 of us. :confused3

There is a thread on CB, but when using the back button it takes a few trys to go back. It is only happening on the dis.

I haven't seen it and will stay away.

Studio = One Queen Bed + One sofa bed (double)

One bed = One King Bed + One sofa bed (queen)

aka - same number of beds...
There are exceptions to this where a few new one bedrooms include a sleeper chair. And of course a OKW studio is two Queen beds.

So you are paying LOTS more points for no greater capacity.
That's what annoys me about Disney :headache:

I guess if you look at it from the marketing perspective, DVC gives you the different options for different family configurations. For my family of 3, a queen and sofabed is ample. Although as DS grows older, I suspect that we are going to need different room options and more space, which is what the one-bedrooms will offer.

Most of the DVC devotees seem to buy into the different resorts anyway; rather than just hold points for one resort exclusively. So, I guess the variety makes for different options and decisions for them.

:magnify:

There's an old'ish WDW fan guide on TV at the mo. just checking it out but I think I've seen it before.

My DD has an English bulldog. She is looking for an apartment & having a terrible time. Anyone who allows pets only wants dogs that are 25 lbs full grown. Her dog is quiet; never, I mean never barks, crated at night & if she is out & scared of his own shadow. But because he is over 25 lbs, they won't allow him. :sad2: Nice that you will consider renting to folks with a boxer. :thumbsup2

We are pet lovers and totally understand the attachment. By the same token we have to protect our investment. We ask to interview the dog and have a deposit that will hopefully cover the costs of any damage that they do.

Capacity is not our concern since there will be two of us regardless moat times we stay. We would never enter into a situation where anyone besides Fran and myself use our bathroom. Our thing is the extra space, jacuzzi tub and kitchen. I cook at least one dinner each trip, two breakfasts, and several lunches. I could probably figure out how to do that in a studio, but I'd be without my tub, oh yeah and in room washer and dryer!

The only ones that are "different" are the OKW owners. The units are so much bigger and more like vacation homes that many of them can't get past the size of the other resorts to allow their proximity to make up for the smaller accommodations.

I think I have seen this Fan Guide to WDW special before. I think I remember one of the families featured.

I'm not saying I don't understand your situation. I'm just saying it frustrates me they don't offer ANY extra capacity.
Once there are Sleeper chairs in all one bedrooms I'll be happy. It'll just justify in some way.

I know that you normally travel with your family....and there are 4 adults. Have you and your family considered 2 rooms?
