We're thinking five days on the big island and then five at Aulani. It seems like there is a ton of stuff to relax at the resort.

I think 10 days will allow you plenty of relaxing. Sounds like a great trip for you and Fran.

Sounds good to me. You'll have to fill me in on the Big Island as it might take me quite a few years before we get there. Our package we bought is for a week at Maui and then we'll have to decide if we want to add time at Aulani, the Big Island or both. Such hard choices to make.

Being from the deep deep South, isn't somewhere in the South a comparable option? Bali or Fiji?

We've been to Bali but not Fiji. Happy to go to either option and I'm sure we'll get round to Fiji at some stage. Fiji is about 5 hours away. Bali is 7 hours.

Um it's Saturday, you could of been drunk all day.

I'd be comatose all day!

Sounds like a lot of fun on the islands. :thumbsup2

It's over 90 F here...and I'm wondering if I really wanna go to Chinatown tomorrow. We'll just have to see.

But here are some more pictures from Australia Day, which will make it to the PTR at some stage.

We headed here to enjoy a free Australia Day 'concert'. Here is the Myer Music Bowl, right on the outskirts of the city.

I was really there for the fireworks, which I was told - was going to be fired off from the gardens somewhere and over the top of that tall building.

Excuse me whilst I turn around 180 degrees. :sad2: The garden fireworks were right over us!

Happy Australia Day!

But I gotta say....I'm really looking forward to shooting fireworks at Hong Kong Disneyland where I just need to focus on the castle and check the schedule for the right time!

It's cat feeding time and that umbilical cord was working. :yay:

Moses was outside, looking a little sorry for himself and he doesn't want us to touch him too much. But he let us touch him and I think there might be some puncture marks but aside from those, there are no obvious scratches. I think he's probably sore from the fight and we'll see how he is tomorrow.

3rd time wasn't a charm?

By my count, this was the 7th fireworks shooting I've attempted in Melbourne, none of which I've managed to get the camera in the right spot. :rotfl2:
At least I'm getting decent shots irrespective of where they shoot the rockets from.

DH and I are considering the Moomba celebrations, which are held in early March. DH has been bitten by the fireworks bug as well and he's interested to try shooting some of his own.

:yay: for Moses!

I've officially turned into a travel addict. I've moved a dummy date for DCL to the May 20, 2013 Pacific Coast cruise LA to Vancouver. I couldn't handle not having anything planned for 2013.:rolleyes1:sad2:

BTW - Are you aware that Alison, Usnuz, Dana and I have a date for the 1st week in October for 2013 at WDW? At this stage, Kitty34 and Bobbiwoz are planning on being there as well.

:rolleyes1

Nearly dinner time. Making a pasta sauce with eggplant in it. We seem to have a few eggplants worth picking.

I don't think it will be a patch on what Alison's enjoying...but it'll do us for tonight. :goodvibes

I've been to the Big Island twice and I'm a volcano addict. I visited Maui when i was 10, but never been to Kauai.

Napa Rose was awesome (as usual). We made some new friends and got to sit in one of the special rooms. Andrew Sutton came and chatted with us, we're still trying to figure out if he came over because both Fran and i said "hi" on our way to be seated (she waited at the bar while our drinks were sent to our table) so we didn't come through together, or if he comes over to chat up large parties seated in the special room. Regardless we had a nice time and will look forward to another evening with these gentlemen. We are the token females of the group! :rotfl2:

Glad you had a great time Alison. I know you'll post the food porn on your PTR at some stage....eagerly waiting! popcorn::
