So You Think You Can Dance Season 6

Mollee promised in a tweet this week that we would start seeing a more mature Mollee. Time will tell.

What I didn't get was that they complimented Victor for growing on the show and faulted Nathan for the opposite, yet they chose to keep Nathan over Victor?

Well, if you read her tweets, that clearly hasn't happened yet.
:lmao:

I'm excited for them to switch partners. I'm hoping to see something new out of a lot of the dancers.

This season seems to be lacking in personality. Season 5 did too but it got better near then end.

I miss the seasons where you have tons of favorites and it is sad when anyone leaves. This season and last, I seem to be cheering them out the door.

I'm trying to imagine who else Mollee could dance with where it wouldn't seem creepy...maybe Russell? He's got kind of a young face. It would be interesting to see her with Jakob...wonder if she could keep up?

...doubt it...

I think Mollee is an excellent dancer, but right now she just does not have the ability to act, I mean, she is a young cute girl, but you have to have some sort of acting skills out there.

I agree.

The only thing she can act is her age--I thought she was great in HSM. But she was playing a teenager and her demeanor was appropriate.

I'm not seeing the full on maturity that they sometimes refer to her.

I do believe she is an excellent dancer.

I think her and Nathan were plummeting in popularity due to their childlike nature especially in the interviews.

Of course since those things are edited, I think a small portion of that is what the editors choose to include.

...hey, but what a difference a partner-change makes! How awesome was she with Russell?????

she was good - but her hair covered her face for most of the dance - at least the one I saw last night.

Loved Russell with Mollee. Thought the first Legacy-Ashleigh dance was amazing. The second...not as bad as the judges thought it was but I was glad Nigel laid it at the feet of the choreographer...that cape was just a big distraction. I actually enjoyed Ryan in the first number - probably because he was wearing a shirt with sleeves, buttoned up.

I'd love it if Ryan and Ashleigh both went home tonight...it would be perfect and best for their marriage.

After Ryan leaves, I don't want any of the guys to go.

I was much more impressed with Mollee last night. She was great with Russell. I too noticed the hair and creative camera angles that you never really saw her face in the contemporary piece. To me, it absolutely came across as if they were trying to hide the fact she looks 12.

I liked their jive a lot. It was fun. Sometimes, a little fun goes a long way. Doesn't hurt that I adore Anya and Pasha.

I thought the Legacy-Ashleigh hip-hop number was terrible. It was the cape. So awkward. Bad, Dave Scott, bad! He wasn't good. There were parts that were ok but overall I was really disappointed in Legacy.

Their other number was blah too. I understand the athleticism it took but it seemed so frantic. There was nothing lyrical or graceful about it. I know it really wasn't supposed to be. I don't know, I guess I like my dance with more 'dance' than just jumping all over the place. ETA- I really can't fault the dancers for that. They danced it amazingly well. I just didn't like the style. They got hit with 2 bad choreographers.

Who else.

Elenore and Jacob's Sonia piece was beyond excellent! We actually watched it twice.

Ryan and Noelle were ok. They didn't annoy me but not super memorable.

Katherine and Nathan. Poor Katherine. I'm ready for Nathan to go. He is excellent but just not stepping up. He needs a few years to mature and grow. He has all the promise in the world and none of the maturity to carry it off.

I did love the Broadway number but that is my style. Katherine was amazing in it. Natan wasn't bad but there was a spark missing.

The Rumba looked like Nathan was dancing with his big sister.

I think I'd like to see Nathan and either Noelle or Ashleigh go. I've changed my mind off of the Mollee stance. She can stay a bit longer. I'd be ok with Ryan leaving too.

While Jacob is ULTRA-talented he is kinda boring as a personality.

As for solos
Ellenore blew the rest of the girls away. I'm glad Mollee got away from all the gymnastics. Ashleigh and Ryan were boring...they need to look at tapes from previous ballroom top 10s.

IMO Russell showed up all the guys. I adore him. I'd like to see him win.

Everything else was common contemporary, spin, leap...look angsty...over over over again.

Legacy & Ashleigh deserve some major sympathy votes for getting stuck w/ the cape & the Dave Scott number. That was a Dave Scott #? Seriously? And there I was, all smug & ripping up NappyTab's office peep show

Lots & lots of blame for the choreographers in general this week. The good that comes to mind was the Broadway routine, ironically set to Choreography; of course Sonya's piece; plus I really enjoyed the jive Pasha & Anya put together for Russell & Mollee. There's other dances where dancers did their job, but choreo was bland -- quickstep & smooth waltz; or just didn't grab me -- the contemporary piece w/ Legacy & Ashleigh.

I'm not certain which guy may be heading home this week, but I think we have to say goodbye to Noelle & that will make me sad.

I watch my teen Ds watch Nathan with longing in their eyes. I wonder if some agent will pick him up for commercials or modeling?

I'd love it if Ryan and Ashleigh both went home tonight...it would be perfect and best for their marriage.

It would be best for me too, he makes my eyes hurt and she makes me want to gag!

Both of them gyrate way too much for me and I am not a prude. I just get :scared: when he does that chest thing and she looks like she should be dancing in a porn film.

I never got the Nathan thing, he looks too sulky and while I understand the 12 YO fan base I am not sure they should be enough to keep him there.

Mollee and Russell were a great pair tonight! I still have trouble believing he is a street dancer, he is blowing the rest of the guys away!

It depends on if they vote. (My own Ds don't.)

He cracks me up. I have an 18 year old and a 17 year old, so I understand where he is maturity-wise. He's got two expressions....solemn/sulky and wide smile. Didn't you love the tears last night? He's been told he's too cocky (will the censors edit that word I wonder?), so now he tries to be so serious and teary-eyed. Again, as the parent of teens, it all cracks me up.

I didn't get the idea Nathan was completely in control of the tears last night. I think he's genuinely scared he's going home, both because of some critiques he's been given & maybe because he realizes he's not in Kathryn's league and it shows. I do think he's in danger of leaving tonight -- I think along w/ Ryan & maybe Legacy. The unevenness of last night's choreo really makes it hard. Overall, week to week results, I'd say Nathan has a lot to be worried about.

After last night's performance, I think Jakob and Ellenore are the only ones who are truly safe! I adored that pairing! And the Sonja routine was awesome. I would love to see Sonja do a routine for Mark (season 4) and Ellenore.

The Russell-Mollee partnership worked well, but there are a LOT of Mollee haters out there. I could see them voting for any other girl to ensure that Mollee doesn't get the votes to stay.

I was underwhelmed by both of Ryan and Noelle's performances. As RadioNate said, nothing memorable!

Legacy and Ashleigh...when I saw that pairing, I thought, "Wow, they just set Legacy up for failure." Not a huge fan of Ashleigh, but she has been holding her own. Last night, I really disliked both performances. The style of contemporary that they did works much better on large groups than a duo, and the cape was just annoying! If Legacy had ditched the cape after the "dramatic" entrance, he would have been s much better off.

Nathan and Kathryn. All I can do is echo, "Poor Kathryn!" She is such a strong dancer and comes across as a very sweet and genuine young lady. Then to get stuck with Nathan whose face looked like he was in the throes of a temper tantrum most of the night. The Broadway as fun to watch, but that Rumba was just blah!

My guess:

Bottom 3 girls: Noelle, Mollee and Ashleigh. And we will say good bye to Noelle
Bottom 3 guys: Nathan, Ryan and Legacy. Toss up between Ryan and Nathan, but I think Nathan will go this week

My thoughts exactly. Nathan is fading for me now, though. He may be my pick after Ryan.

Legacy seems super popular so hopefully he will be safe. The cape routine was plain awful. Not worthy of SYTYCD or Legacy's talents at all.

I loved the jive and I love Russell. Overall he and Legacy are my favorites. Jakob doesn't have the personality, as someone else mentioned, but he is a gorgeous dancer. I love to watch him. He's a favorite too.

Kathryn and Elynore (is that how she spells it?) are my top girls.

Sonya's routine was fabulous!

Oh and I'm glad Ashleigh finally told us what her illness was.

I think it was a rare bacterial infection.

I agree w/ your bottom 3 on both counts -- and who's likely to go. I have to say I feel really bad for the dancers, including the ones who aren't my faves, for almost being guaranteed being in the bottom because of choreo & costuming that they don't control.

Oldest DD looked at me last night & said, "What's up w/ the choreography tonight? Now we're at the time where we should be seeing a bunch of amazing dances that will probably be put into the tour."

I'm sure Jakob & Ellenore's piece will be touring, as will Russell & Mollee's jive. Sure hope we've got lots of magic waiting for us in the next few weeks. I'd love to see some stuff so incredible that I have to change my mind about some of the dancers.

Did anybody but me find it more than a little convenient Mollee got paired w/ Russell? (Pulled out of a hat my foot. That is unless the hat has slips that all have the same name on them.)

I agree. The dancers' hearts have to sink when they realize they're working on a really lame dance, knowing that another couple is getting a memorable dance. I wonder if Legacy tried to get out of wearing the cape...
