I just booked our vacation Nov.14th-18th. :goodvibes It is my birthday on the 14th and my son's 6th birthday on Nov. 17th, yes he was and is my favorite birthday gift. ;)
So here are my questions...
1- where would you go for a nice dinner? We do enjoy good food. :) I ahve read so many posts but I get overwhelmed
2- what day would you go? Wed-Saturday are our choices

Thanks so much for all your help

I was going to suggest Napa Rose for the meal of ALL meals, but, I saw that you will have your 6 year old son with you, so my suggestion for an incredible meal for the whole family would be Blue Bayou! You get to eat in the same atmosphere as the Pirates of The Caribbean ride! It's dark and all the ambiance of the swamp is there! They have great food too, as well as standard fare that kids enjoy, such as mac n cheese. NEAT place! Not to be missed! :thumbsup2

p.s. Be sure to ask for a waterside table. They will tell you there is a longer wait, but it usually isn't terribly long and it is SO worth it! SO neat to watch all the Pirates boats going by your table!

Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, or Flo's.

He might enjoy the show at the BBQ and Live music...
At Flo's, the Cars race right by, the outside dining area... so that would be cool for a 6 year old. Heck it's cool for this 41 year old!!:rotfl2:

Have a Blast!

Ditto on BB. It's amazing ambience and we like the food. It's nice to have a dark quiet candlelit meal in the middle of the day!

Steakhouse 55 and Goofy's Kitchen

Since you'll be there for both birthdays, I second this recommendation.

Steakhouse 55 is very good, a bit upscale but they do have a kids menu and it was certainly the best food off a kids menu our kids had the entire trip. They both loved it and complained at the mediocre food on kids menus elsewhere in the park & DTD. For adults, it's a very good steakhouse with everything you'd expect as such.

On the kids b-day, you can't go wrong with a character meal at Goofy's. You could do the Blue Bayou thing but it's dark and not all that exciting for kids. Maybe do this on the adult birthday if you really like the Pirates ride/theme but don't go expecting a meal on par with the top Disney restaurants (Carthay, Napa Rose, Steakhouse 55).

Does this meal have to be in the parks? If you go to the Patina website and register your birthdate, you will get a coupon for dining the week of your birthday. Patina restaurants in DtD include Catal, Tortilla Jo's, and Uva.

Def Blue Bayou for Dinner, however if your open to other meal options a character breakfast at the plaza inn home of the happiest birthday on earth might be an option :thumbsup2

A great breakfast spot on your sons b-day could also be Story Tellers Cafe in GCR. It is also a character meal. I understand there is a fun one at PP as well. We also enjoy Ariel's Grotto, eating outside. We really enjoy the view.

My Teens like story tellers for their Birthday Dinners, But last year my 18 year old wanted breakfast at goofy's kitchen instead! BB used to be our Fav but the prices have gone up so much and we do not love the food... rather have cafe Orleans actually.

Blue Bayou, waterside table for sure. Your son will get a kick out of watching the boats, especially if he's a Pirate's fan, like me. And you can't beat the service or the atmosphere.

I always show my DS his choices and let him choose. We are going for his 7th birthday on nov 1 and he chose Minnie and friends.

Minnie and friends is the best place to go for breakfast chr meals they have 10chrs and good food and its in side the park

BB is another good lunch choice.
