We'll be leaving in 19 days....is it too early to start bring out the suitcase?....Come on!!... I just need to keep my mind occupied in something until the wait is over!!....
Just wanted to know when do other Disney lovers start packing??

Oh my! You mean people actually start packing more than the night before? :rotfl2:

No, really I think you should start if you have a place you can stick the "suit case in progress" and won't be tripping over it for the next 19 days. You can add little things as you think of them. I thought about getting one going for my little guy, because most of the clothes he will wear there arn't things he can wear at home right now anyhow. That way, I won't forget anything we need for him and start thinking about stuff we still need to get. I think we have something like 28 days left, so you'll beat us there! Have a great time!

I am already putting things to the side that I know have to go. For us, it is never to early since there is always something to pack or get ready!!

I think I'm going to begin this weekend (and yes, we're still several weeks out from our trip). But as it's gotten cooler here in NC, the kids really can't wear most of the clothes I plan to pack....so I figure as I get them washed I'll go ahead and place them in suitcases (for me and DH too). And I've started buying travel size stuff, bandaids and other must haves, and have been stashing them in a box in my room. And of course all the goodies under my bed that Santa plans to leave for the kids before we head out for our adventure. Yes, I'm totally going overboard but I just can't stand it.....I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

LOL FourFlans! We are going to be there the same time as you. The weather is friged here too, so its not like Tyler will need the t-shirts and swim trunks if I start packing that stuff now. My DH would make fun of me if I started packing now though

Te he he :rotfl: My DH will no doubt give me funny looks as well, but since I'm the only one planning and packing he'll just have to deal with it :earboy2: !

and I am almost finished packing, I know but I have OCD issues (don't we all!!) Plus this whole trip is a surprise and I have to pack, then hide the suitcases from my DS12 and DS15. Harder beecause they are older!! Now I am just buying the last minute stuff to pack. I can't Wait!!! :Pinkbounc

We're going in January & I'm already packing.

I keep a large rubbermaid tub in the corner of my bedroom & anytime I come across anything I might need for the trip, that we don't need now, it goes in there...like travel size toothpaste, deodorant, extra swim goggles, disposable cameras for the kids, hats, flip flops, our coupons to redeem for free pins, etc.

Oof, well don't laugh, but we're not going till April & I already have the kids & DH 100% packed and my stuff is about 75% done.

We live in CT, so instead of packing away our summer stuff, then having t pull it out of the attic to pack, I just packed enough outfits for out trip & put the rest of the suff in the attic. I use the ziploc method for the kids. I always pack my Downy Wrinkle Releaser... that stuff works like a charm!

We have an fifth wheel, so I was able to put the Disney clothes away in our camper bedroom closets & don't have to worry about tripping over them all winter...

I'm so jealous of all of you going so soon!!!

Don't feel bad msbegin I started packing in February for a trip in June. Ofcourse I used the excuse that we are a family of four blah blah blah but I was just excited. Also I tried to explain it away by saying I didn't want to over buy. If I had a constant reminder of what we already had then I couldn't spend unneccesary money. Sounded good at the time. :flower: I think I'll try the rubbermaid in the corner idea, that won't look as bad as the suitcases on the foldup picnic table for several months. :rotfl:

It sounds like we all have pretty much the same game plan when it comes to packing. I usually start about 30 days from leaving. I just start gathering small items, get my travel size stuff together, get the backpack ready etc. The other reason I start so early is because I am so darn excited. :goodvibes

Have a great trip!!

I start making lists AGES before our trip but don't pack until the last moment. I tried packing ahead of time once and ended-up leaving lots of important "stuff" behind. Not a good experience.

:Pinkbounc Whoopee - you are all my kind of people - I'm so glad to hear (and I'm sure my DH will be relieved to hear) that I'm not off my rocker and the only one packing! We're 18 days out and I'm so afraid that (despite the lists), if I don't start packing now, we will be in a frenzy before we leave and I'd much rather pack for the next two weeks and then arrive at day "0" with only the excitement of the trip and not the anxiety of the packing.

Again I say - whoopee!!!

I am packing all of the stuff that we don't/won't use in the next 30 days. Shirts only for WDW, pins/lanyards that I bought to surprise the kids, glowsticks, hats, shorts (not wearing them in OH), penny books, autograph books, etc..... I'll do the bathroom stuff the morning of.

We have 17 days left and I have started packing those non-essential things now. Does anyone know where I can get the weather information for Disney?

Go to weather <dot> com and put Orlando in the box at the top that asks for city or zip. We'll be there on the 22nd. They say it should be in the upper 70's for highs. Can't wait!

But we haven't started packing yet. I've thought about it and brought it up to my wife but she's always a last minute packer. After reading this I'm getting nervous. Looks like the suitcases will find their way down from the attic tonight as I put the last but of Halloween decorations up there! ;)

I am dying to pack now....I have been eye-balling :earseek: my suitcase for weeks...lol. My trip is a surprise for my dd and I don't want to spoil it so I am doing my best to hold off packing until the week before. I do have a running list that keeps getting longer and longer!
I hope I don't get too excited and forget things. :rotfl2: Ok of course I will forget things....lol . It wouldn't be a proper trip if I didn't forget something.

Well I cleaned off my cedar chest where I intend to put the suitecases. I went to the dollar store and got one of those pocketed hanging things and packed some of the rainponchos, blister bandaids, travel size stuff. I too want to pack the summer things since they have been moved elsewhere.

I just found out I'm doing Thanksgiving, not really a big deal, but I want the house clean before we leave so I don't come home to a dirty house! LOL
