So what's the consensus on the new 7 dwarfs attraction?

I have a question for those saying that the seats are cramped. We are a family of three. I'm pretty small at 5'2", but my husband is 6'8" and all legs. We also have our 4 year old daughter. Now, it clearly sounds like the 3 of us cannot ride together, but do you think it would be cramped if I rode with my daughter and he had his own seat? Like, would he be able to turn in such a way that he fit comfortably? Or is it a lost cause? And would it still be cramped if I rode with my daughter?

I haven't ridden it yet, but the issue seems to be the bars that come down over your legs, so he would not be able to turn. The bar is reported to be 13 inches wide, and he has to fit both legs inside.

I am not sure many people are riding by themselves at this point. Josh at EasyWDW posted a picture, and he was seated next to someone he didn't know. I think they are trying to fill every seat.

We rode late Friday afternoon. It was good for a tamer coaster that's geared more toward children. The seats were incredibly uncomfortable even for me not being Pooh sized or rather tall. We were in the last cart and our barely moved we even tried rocking it and laughed about how the miners should have had WD40. I would ride it again but ONLY if I had a FP for it as I don't see as being worth standing in a 20 min line for let alone a 60 min line

You and your daughter will be fine. Your husband will be cramped.

Thanks for the responses.

When we rode it, MrsRustyScupper said, "And we waited all this time FOR THIS ???"

Few attractions are really worth waiting a long time to ride, although that is highly subjective. Two minutes is a standard ride length for Fantasyland, so long wait times have always been the bane of FL rides when the park is busy. Mine Train is new, so in terms of gaining value for time spent in line, FP and RD are the only options until the kids go back to school in the Fall. Even then, expect quite long lines for a while.

I agree with this 100%. We just got back this evening from WDW and rode the attraction once... It was all I needed to experience. Our first day in the MK we went to the Mine Ride at rope drop, by the time we got there it was already an hour wait; we passed since we had a FP+ for later in the day. Later in the day when we got there the ride was broken down for our FP time. After waiting for 45 minutes we left. Finally, this past Saturday we had breakfast at the Crystal Palace at 8:05 am. After eating we walked over to the entrance way to Fantasy Land where CM's were holding the crowds back. We managed to be the second family in line, and wouldn't you know it, the ride was broken down again. We waited it out and finally we rode it after over an hour wait.

I knew it was not a thrill ride, I didn't expect it to be a thrill ride, but after riding it Mrs. Goofy4prez and I said, "we tried all week and waited this long for this?" Cute ride, but it did not blow me away. I then cancelled our FP+ for later in the day and picked a different attraction.

We were a party of three, DS and I rode together because DH is bigger. I thought riding he would be riding by his self to give hime more room. Not the case, we rode this way twice and both times he had someone with him. They are definitely trying to fill every seat.

And besides, any ride that is not the height of technology/thrills will be hated on by a large portion of people.

I looked forward to riding this is October, but my feelings are tempered not to have high expectations.

Anything less than a stellar demonstration of creativity and new technology is is not living up to Disney tradition. It's also squandering WDW's immense talent pool.

If WDW was opening a fifth park, all at once, then one would not expect 100% e-rides, but given WDW's talent pool, WDW should regularly produce new attractions that are exemplars of technology and creativity.

I have not been on the new rides, and I know that no matter what they introduce, some folks will be disappointed, so I will reserve my opinion until I ride it myself.

It is fun! The cars are a little cramped, and it ends much sooner than you want it to. at nighttime it's rather dark on the ride track. That's cool but I need to ride it in the daytime. I waited maybe 40 minutes getting in line about 1:15 am on an extra magic night. It's not worth a really long line. I do want to ride it again but I won't wait forever to do it. The ride itself is just under 2 minutes.

They did place me in the front seat with a guy I didn't know. His wife and kid were behind us.

Loved it! It was fun and relatively quiet as far as coasters go :)
The dark part was very cute and the cottage scene with SW dancing with the dwarves is super cute.
The scenery within the ride is great and the views of park from within the ride are spectacular.
I didn't get to ride it at night as our FP+ was for 11:0o a.m., but hoping to ride it at night this October!

I'm familiar with the success of Single Rider Line use. So I wonder why in the world a CM told me on RnRc that "the single rider line was shut down because it's too busy."

Isn't that the point of SR? Fill up the empty pairs? That was a first for me. :confused3

General consensus:

1. Ride is cute.
2. Ride is in between Barnstormer and Big thunder- it was never meant to be a 'thrill ride' so don't expect it.
3. It's too short.
4. Took too long to build for what it is.
5. Temper expectations.

We have found the SR line at RNR can be as long than the standby line. Not exactly why this is. It is very efficient and fast at EE and TT. I wonder if they shut it down because the line was so long, it would be as long of a wait as stand-by....

They might shut it down because of the time involved in assigning single riders on that particular ride, if it's really busy they just want to get the passengers on the ride and move it through.

Rode it Sunday night. I guess I was expecting more. Cute, yes. Worth 2 hours waiting, not in my opinion (I had FP+ so did not wait). Did the all the hype build it up to be more than what it is...ABSOLUTELY in my opinion.

That being said, I think this is a great addition for those with younger children. And it is in Fantasyland which is appropriate for all ages. The mine part was very impressive but again the ride itself...ehhhh.

I don't think my 15 yr old will ride it again any time soon ;)

Yeah I didn't get to ride RNRC on my last trip because the SR line was closed. I checked twice and it was closed both times. This was during EMH and the stand by was already over an hour wait.

Anyway, on topic...I thought SDMT was very cute. I didn't go in expecting anything than what it was...a fun kiddie coaster for families. I really enjoyed it and would ride it again (with a FP...I waited 30 minutes during "soft open" and that was my limit)

Or shut it down because the CM is lazy. The success of the single rider line is HEAVILY dependent on the CM properly using it. If they don't, and empty seats go out, the SR line keeps growing.

I have seen HUGE difference on both RSR and HPFJ. Times where the SR moved sloooooow, only to get to the station and see the CM was only filling 1 out of every 3 or 4 empty seats. Then, with a great CM, the SR was damn near a walkon because every seat was being filled.

We were in SR for Transformers in LA last year, after the ride was down for half the day, and the line was 2 hours. They weren't letting anyone into it, saying it was "full". Then folks did go in, pretty much while the greeter was preoccupied, but it moved VERY slow. Eventually, they realized we were a fire hazard, and over the posted occupation limit, and they loaded a few cars with all singles. It was clear the ride grouper was failing at their job, as the line would go 5 minutes with no one leaving it.

I personally thought that it was super cute!

I did think it was going to have a bit more of a thrill with it, especially with the rocking carts (they seem to not rock that much) but was still a fun ride and the animatronics were amazing. I also appreciated that it slows down when we go through the inside so we can actually see everything in there.

Thought the queue was awesome, super annoying for those who want to get on the ride while everyone else in front is stopping to play with everything & take a million pictures every 5 steps, but hey lol.
