So what's the consensus on the new 7 dwarfs attraction?

We really enjoyed it the 3 times we fast passed it but thought it was too short. Would not wait in a long line to ride though. It was worth a fast pass to us

Since it is geared towards younger kids, it's not very Pooh friendly.

I know this is a common observation, but I'm glad to see someone state it this way and acknowledge on some level the difficult challenge the designers face in making an attraction that secures tiny guests barely 38" tall and larger adults in the same seating area.

But the truth is at least pretty much out on the seats. Remember during soft opening, the standard answer was "everyone can fit just fine!!!!". And "I'm Pooh sized, and wasn't cramped at all!!!!".

Obviously not exactly true. I had this feeling as soon as I saw the dimensions of the car, and initial pictures. In fact, I thought it looked like two below average adults would be cramped. It was clear that larger adults would have problems. And 2 6 foot people next to each other weren't going to be comfortable.

And it has nothing to do with them making it safe for younger kids. There are plenty of rides for 38" kids that are perfectly comfortable for adults. They could have added 2" in all dimensions of the seats and solved the whole problem. It's a pretty big fail that for a ride that has been in development for around 5 years, and they don't design it for everyone to be comfortable.

Sounds like it's going to be an epic fail for me, then. I get queasy on BTMRR and can't handle Barnstormer at all; I was nauseated for hours after the spirals! Between the motion sickness potential and the fact that the seat won't fit my Pooh-sized behind, I am discouraged. We've been watching this for years with high anticipation, so to read that I probably won't be able to ride the 7DMT is pretty disappointing. Did the Imagineers forget that children won't be the only ones riding this attraction?

I'm 6'3 and about 350lbs. I rode the mine train 6 times during my most recent trip. I will admit, that it's not especially comfortable, but once the ride got going it wasn't that bad. I will definitely ride many more times.

We did witness one gentleman who wasn't "pooh sized" but had previous knee surgeries who couldn't get both legs in between the narrow bars and didn't get to ride.

I do think one reason they had to make the bars more narrow is the rocking mechanism. This is the difference in sdmt and the barnstormer that requires the more secure lap bars on the little ones.

I would assume it is more because the rocking makes it more critical the weight distribution is even. Making the seats large, and further apart would create an issue if you had two parents on the right, and two toddlers on teh left, in one car. By squeezing them together, they reduce the lopsidedness, which could lead to a strange ride experience.

We rode it 3 times (all with FP) and loved it. As with everyone else, I wish it was longer (ride splash Mountain and see how long that is in comparison). But at least it's not Barnstormer short.

We rode it the other day for the first time with a FP. We liked it and thought it was cute. Thought it was a quick ride. A lot of people commented on the seats being small and uncomfortable. We thought they were tight but not too bad. Bigger and more comfortable than Barnstormer. Couldnt really feel the rocking motion too much, but we did notice that it was EXTREMELY smooth!

We will definitely use one of our FP for this on days to MK and would wait in standby for this line but not more than about 45 minutes.

I've only been posting here since January, but so far I've never seen a consensus on anything. :)

(Closest has been number of positive responses to new parade at MK)

:thumbsup2 That was my first thought on seeing the heading as well! And I've been here for quite a while now. :dance3:

I thought it was cute. My FP were for during the day and I'd like to ride it at night next time to see how it feels then.

The seats were tight though and I had a backpack which I had to figure out how to put by my feet.

It is what it is, a family coaster with limited thrills and a short ride time, very similar to the Barnstormer. I think most people would enjoy it more were it not for the insane wait times. I would hope in the months to come those times gradually go down to eventually a 30 min max wait time. However that should be the case for a ride like Peter Pan's Flight, and you still see 45-60 min wait times at peak hours, so I fear what we see now is what it's going to be for a long time with 7DMT.

The internet/message boards have never been about consensus, they are all about debate.

And besides, and ride that is not the height of technology/thrills will be hated on by a large portion of people.

I looked forward to riding this is October, but my feelings are tempered not to have high expectations.

We were decidedly underwhelmed. Maybe because We have been watching it being built for 2 years? Maybe because the lines are sometimes 3 hours but we had a FP? Maybe because, despite the size of the space it seems to take up, it's a fairly short ride? Maybe because I wanted to see more dwarves? Or the Wicked Queen, not just the Hag? Maybe because I miss SW?

It's fun but I prefer the Little Mermaid ride.

Ditto. I'd much rather wait in line for BTMRR. It reminded us all of a shorter, dumbed down version of BTMRR. Cute, glad we rode it, but we don't need to do it again unless it would be a walk on. And I don't see that happening anytime soon, last week the shortest wait we saw was 75 min & that was after 1am!

I have a question for those saying that the seats are cramped. We are a family of three. I'm pretty small at 5'2", but my husband is 6'8" and all legs. We also have our 4 year old daughter. Now, it clearly sounds like the 3 of us cannot ride together, but do you think it would be cramped if I rode with my daughter and he had his own seat? Like, would he be able to turn in such a way that he fit comfortably? Or is it a lost cause? And would it still be cramped if I rode with my daughter?

Just back from WDW and we rode twice. Once with FP+ and once stand-by at RD (20 min wait once we got to the Q). We all liked the ride and agree it will be a must-do on every trip IF we have a FP or the wait is >30. The ride is short but fun. Thrilling but not BTMRR intense. The swinging is more subtle than I expected but is a great element. We rode once in front and once in back. The back is by far more fun and has more "swing" but the front gets a better view of the cottage scene which is almost impossible to see if it is bright and sunny out. The interactive elemnts of the Q are really well done but they slow down the line. The landscape of the attraction is spectacular. Really amazing from every angle. The seats are not great. I am not pooh sized and I found them to be uncomfortable and my 6'4 250# DH was very squeezed in leg room especially.

If you are going to try to ride at RD go right through tomorrowland. We were at MK for RD 4 days and everyday the traffic that went that direction got to the line first.

We had FastPasses for it, and honestly I was underwhelmed. No way, no way, should anyone wait over an hour for this. Honestly I would not wait over 30 minutes for it, but thats just me. The ride felt very anti-climactic, and was so quick (is it under 1 minute??). I could not believe the size of the lines of people on Standby. I swear people must be absolutely insane.

Just got back last night and this was our exact thought! When we arrived in MK at RD, we went straight there. I didn't see a wait time posted, but there was already a huge line. So, we booked it to Space Mountain. Rode it twice with no wait. Rode Buzz twice with no wait. Headed to BTMRR and had about a 5 minute wait. MUCH better than waiting for SDMT.

We got right on with our FP. The ride was cute. There was absolutely no "thrill" involved. It was SO short! When we got to the end, I couldn't believe it was already over. Definitely geared to kids. I might wait 30 minutes for it once, just so I could do it again. After that, I wouldn't do unless FP or 10 minute wait. And...I doubt I would waste a FP on it. Wouldn't give up SM, BTMRR or Splash for it.

On Friday, the waits were 75 minutes in the late morning. 90 minutes lunch timeish. And 120 minutes by early afternoon. It was SO HOT! I thought the people waiting must have lost their minds! The ends of the lines were in the full sun!

Are you trying to cram all three of you into one row? Because they won't allow that. The seats are individual, molded seats. It's not a bench like BTMR.

No. I'm asking if my daughter and I will be cramped if we are together and if my husband will still be cramped if he rides alone.
